Getting to know you thread

Hi - I'm Helen - age 43 living in Dublin. I am married to DH for 12 years and have two kids 10 and 8. I work full time and as my user name suggests this is second time around for me on a TFR diet. Started Lipotrim at 17st 10 in 07/08 and lost 6 stone but life happens and bad habits weren't fixed and ended up back at 18st 1 on January 1 - my start date on Exante. My goal is 12st ish and I think I've just broken the 3st mark so am well chuffed with that. My key motivation is to make sure that when I come off Exante, I'll be a healthy weight and can "walk the talk" with my kids regarding smart food choices so they don't develop the same bad habits as I have.

Well, I'm 26 ( well, not till monday, but what's a week between friends?!) I am married and live in Essex.

I work in river island and I love my job!

Apart from work and my husband, I have zero hobbies, lol.

I decided to do Exante after being overweight for years, tried WW a couple of times before, lost weight, got bored and put it all back on! I'm hoping the quick weight loss and drastic results will help me maintain when I get to target.

Hi Sarah were in Essex r u? Im in harlow x

Hi I work with children with disabilities, in a respite unit as well as runing clubs and playschemes etc. I do this part time now as doing a full time degree which is almost over- qualify in June yay!! When i was a kid and into my teenage years i hated food, never enjoyed eating and because of this i was very skinny! When I was around 19 I discovered a love for food and am now a real foody! Hence why I am doing exante. I go through phases of being really healthy the binge eating on rubbish so exante is helping me get out of that habit. Ive always loved sports and excercise and was a slim size 10 when i lived in the canaries as ate a lot healthier, swam and played tennis every day. I have pcos and do find it hard to lose weight just eating better but i know i can do it as have done in the past. Im now in a netball team and am quite fit, just do not want to be 'overweight' anymore!!! Oh, I am 29 next month, live with my bf of 2 yrs, no plans of marriage or kids yet.

Wow that is close! If u need a diet buddy :)

Hi, I'm Jen, 28 and from Glasgow. I work in an office and have a partner and we have been together 10 years. I have been overweight ever since my teens. I lost 4 stone at 17 with WW which I maintained and even got thinner in my late teens. When I came off the pill to try and conceive about 8/9 years ago I started to gain weight. I was diagnosed with PCOS probably about 5 years ago. We've been to the fertility clinic and to get drugs/IVF I need to get my BMI to 35. I tried Xenical and got some good results but I need a break from food and I need to see quick results which has lead me to Exante. So here I am, I'm on a mission to get my BMI to 35 which is a loss of over 4 stone. I want to do this by June. I'm going to carry on with Exante after this and get to what will be my lowest weight since I was in my teens.

We are getting married in September and I've got 2 hairy children, 2 wee dogs which I baby incessantly. I shop for clothes sooo much and now that I'm losing weight I'm going to have to Ebay (plenty of clothes that have never been worn, sob lol). Oh and I LOVE going on holiday. I can't wait to go on a beach holiday where I won't feel like a whale.

Oh Jen nice to see someone else local :)

Hi Im Shona, Im married with 2 boys, 8 and 7. Im a teenage cancer nurse specialist covering s yorkshire. Ive always needed to eat healthily to keep my weight down but for years managed to eat low fat during the week and then anything i wanted at the weekend. Since the kids have been born its crept up and ive lost it then its crept up again and ive dieted AGAIN. In the last 18 months both my parents died...tragic for me!!!...I then just had no incentive to eat well and b4 i new it was 14.2. The last time i weighed that was when i was giving birth. I hate the way I look and am just desparate to look and be me again. Ive been doing this diet since jan and i just hope that i keep off whatever I loose. I keep reading horror stories of people gaining ALL the weight. Fingers crossed Il be able to maintain my weight xx

Hi I am Bernice (Bernie) to my friends. I too live near southampton Rachel (Cybil)???? and I am 53 in June. I have been happily married for 33 years and I have 2 grown up Daughters and 2 lovely Grandchildren whom I absolutely adore. I have been overweight on & off all of my life. I have done every diet under the sun and I do not consider any of them were successful even though I lost the weight as I've always put it back on again.......so in my eyes that is no success!!!! I had a spell of being very slim about 12 years ago when I was teaching aerobics and boxercise but I burnt myself out with exercise and just stopped doing everything and then the weight piled back on. This time I am absolutely 100% determined that this will be my last diet. I refuse to be a victim anymore and I want to be a healthy and fit 50 something!!!!!:D

aww sweetie sorry about your parents, its always hard suffering a loss xx

Thanks hannah. Yep lifes tough at times but always others going through a whole lot worse xxx They were great people and worth every bit of weight gain lol

Me too! Pm me whenever we can get thru it together, how long u been doing exante?

Hi I'm Sharon. I've been on a diet since I was about 14 (for about 21 years - I'm 35). Some diets have been more successful than others. I've spent years being on and off SW but find I get fed up with the slow losses. Thats why I'm hoping exante will work for me. I live alone and really admire anyone who can do this diet whilst cooking and shopping for a family. I've justed started a new job working regular hours after years of shift work and am hoping this will be a new start for me. I want to get into a routine of healthy eating and exercise.
