Here i go again! Will i do it this time?

My FIL is elder and disabled and does not care, he just likes ice cream ;)

Well done on -2.5 pounds! I weighed in this morning (Thursday WI girl here) and had dropped 1.5 pounds :D

Have a great day!

Awww bless him. At least he got his ice-cream.

well done on the 1.5lb's off. that's fantastic. x

Hi Rhi

Well done :)

Hope you managed to get something else to eat other than your apple! I find snacking during the day on healthy bits and bobs stops me from eating things on the dreaded 'food table' we have at work.. full of cookies and cakes and crisps. Not good!

I walk to work and back every day and it's about a 1 hour 10 minute round trip. I go walking at weekends as well, but I dont really do anything else. I definitely need to. I used to play Badminton but my badminton partner injured their wrist so we stopped and I've just never picked it back up.

Some of my friends are talking about going to Zumba though - do you like it? I think I'd feel silly but I'm up for it!

Hope your day is going well

Lauren

Hi RR. Thanks for your support.

Thanks Lauren. Nope only had the apple for lunch yesterday lunchtime in the end. I was starving when I got home from work lol.
Sounds like you do loads of exercise with all the walking you do. I would def recommend Zumba. I am totally un-cordinated and stand at the back and wobble away but it's a lot of fun. It is hard work but its a fun kind of exercise. You should give it a go. I've got over feeling silly as no-one judges you.

Well today has been busy. Had an appointment with our DD's portage worker first thing at 9am and then an appointment with the paeditrician for her at 10:15. I probably should explain that she had meningitis group b strep when she was 3weeks old. It's knocked her development back a lot so we're currently under 6 different departments to support her. She's being referred to 2 more shortly so it's a bit busy with appointments on times. She turns 4 in September but the paediatrician assessed her at being the development age of a 2 year old so she's quite abut behind. She also is showing signs of a few austic tendencies.
Then this afternoon my DS has bought a friend home after school for the very first time. 1hr and 20 mins to go till we take him home and go swimming lol.

How has everyone elses day been? Xxx

Aw, your daughter is a sweetheart I'll bet :heartpump: Bet you're such a good mum to her too!!! I hope you can find all the information you need about her health so any needs she has can be properly addressed. :heartpump:

Busy day indeed! I like my days busy, keeps me from eating! ;)

Went to the Harry Potter midnight showing last night with my three sisters. Had a brilliant time but am soooo tired today! :p

Have a great day :wavey:

Hey!
Well I think I'll give Zumba a go, I'll let you know how I get on next week... it will probably be horrendous!

Thought I'd just get back to you on here rather than keep two threads going :) I'm in York (currently very rainy!) and I work for the Civil Service. I love it, although it's super quiet at the moment, everyone seems to be on hols.

Hope your daughter is ok. And how did the visit from your son's friend go?

Happy swimming too!

Lauren

Hi
how is your day going Rhi? If you can survive the weekends, you can survive anything :)

I hope your daughter gets all the support she needs and you receive lots of advice along the way. My wee cherub is 6 and autistic. You can probably tell from my posts he is mine and hubby's pride and joy. He's gorgeous, intelligent and 150% loveable...i could burst with the amount of love i have for him :)

It is very encouraging that your little one is beiing monitered closely. How worrying for you regarding the meningitis . Our darling wee cherub's autism followed a vaccination :(

anyway, here's to a happy weekend for you, keep focused!

Thanks everyone. I love my DD to bits although i do worry on times that my DS is being left out where she needs a lot more support. He is a fantastic big brother to her though and very very caring. He's also very helpful with helping me look after her when i am having bad days with my ME such as getting her drinks etc. I'm proud of them both.

MissF - what was the Harry Potter film like? i love those films so can't wait to see it. Not sure if i'd of managed to stay awake through the film going at midnight lol. I agree staying busy is best for me too as it stops me wanting to snack from boredom. How has your day been?

Lauren - you will love it i am sure. You'll be totally addicted coz it's such a laugh. My DH works for Ordnance survey the mapping people which is part of the civil service too. Do you prefer it quiet or busy at work? Visit from my son's friend went well thanks. A lot less stressful than i thought. He was really helpful and polite and they both played really nicely together. This is the first year he's talked about the same friend as being his best friend all year so i'm happy about that as he didn't seem to have a set group of friends before this year. How has your day been?

RR - How do you cope with your son's autism? When did he get diagnosed with it? She's a lovely little girl and so happy most of the time but she's very hard work. How's your day been?

Today has mostly been spent in bed feeling ill :( I've not felt right since wednesday so i am not sure if it's just coz i am overdoing things or if there is something else going on. i've rested loads today though so hopefully that will help. At least it means i've not wanted to snack lol. I went swimming last night and did 34 lengths in 40 minutes and i have to admit i did feel a lot worse after that. I've got a swollen gland in my neck that's painful and it's also causing earache. I slept through breakfast but did get up and have my optislim shake and an apple for lunch. For tea i'm planning on having salmon, ready one fresh mash (i'm being lazy) and peas. Even had to miss zumba this morning as i felt so rough :(

Hope you're feeling a bit better Rhi,
34 lenghths when you're not feeling well is huge, no surprise you feel tired, my son is 19 now and doin just fine but i remember all the stressful times and all the amazingly wonderful times when he was little n a lot of support for parent of autistic kids then.
you have put me in the mood for salmon now, know what im havin tomorrow now, thanks. Feel better soon xx

Good morning Rhi :)

hope you are feeling better, sounds painful, rest up and take care today.
Mmmm i too am having salmon today, tinned variety :) Warm weather affects my appetite and the need for hot food!

My wee one was diagnosed 2 years ago, he has aspergers syndrome, a mild form of autism. he is not a text book case, as he is capable of doing so much and has overcome great hurdles the past two years. The tantrums have eased about 90% :) and although he was very hard work when he was younger, and i was often in tears, both at home and outside! he is now relatively easy to cope with now. he struggles with socialising and strange unknown places and events, but we deal with it. Just last week, he couldn't cope at a local fete, all because of a fire engine..the story is in my diary...last sunday or monday i think?
As mspiggy says, i too remember all the wonderful times, they far outweigh the stressful times! :)

have a lovely day, good luck for next weigh in...fingers crossed!

Hope you feel better Rhi, it does sound like you may be coming down with something. Take care and rest up.

Thanks everyone. i am feeling a little better this evening. I just rested on the sofa this morning and then had another sleep this afternoon which i think has helped. I am still not 100% but i am feeling a lot better than yesterday morning. Thought i had better avoid going to the gym this evening though as i didn't want to make myself feel bad again and ought to fully recover first.

Awww MissPiggy i never knew you had an autistic son. it gives me hope that we can deal with it after hearing what you've said and also RR so a massive thanks to you both.

RR - i think my DD only has a mild form too as there is a lot she can do (obviously within her delayed development boundaries) it's mostly change of routine that she kicks off at and also she has really bad eye contact. It'll be good if we can get a diagnosis though so that we can learn to deal with it and hopefully cut down the temper tantrums like you guys have managed. We've also applied for a place at a special educational needs unit for her where they take them in the last year of pre-school onwards. That year and reception class are combined and then year's 1 and 2 are combined in another class. They try to integrate them into mainstream lessons that the child can cope with. So we're just waiting to hear if she's got a place. i really hope so as even the paediatrician says he doesn't think she'd cope in mainstream school.

How are you all doing today?

I've not been wonderful today although not too bad i guess. Had my optislim shake for breakfast and then for lunch i had a turkey, cheese and coleslaw sandwich with some salmon and spinach quiche and a bag of snackajacks. Whether it's coz of feeling ill i don't know but i felt like i just needed food and not just a shake for lunch. Am planning on eating healthily for tea though to make up for it.

xxxx

Hopefully the special needs unit can meet your very special daughter's unique needs :heartpump: I am going into special education myself :)

Your food sounds quite healthy to me! Probably wasn't a bad idea to eat with how you have been feeling.

Yesterday I was exhausted and ended up eating 100's of calories more than I had planned. :( They were all healthy calories but I was a bit sad. Today I'm having a bit of a hard time emotionally and have relaxed somewhat but will have a lower calorie count than yesterday at least. Tomorrow I have a food plan that I really want to stick to so I will do it. :)

Have a good week. :wavey:

Thanks MissPiggy and Missfortissimo. I am feeling much better today thanks. Might even attempt a go on zumba fitness tonight for 30 minutes. I'll see how i feel later today though.

Sorry to hear you're having an emotional day Missfortissimo. Anything i can help with? I am a good listener if ever you want to offload about anything hun. As long as your sticking within your calories even if you've had slightly more than you intended to, try not to beat yourself up as you could have been a lot lot worse (like i usually am when i go on a binge lol). (((hugs))))

Well this morning has been stressful. Our childminder is sick today. Luckily i work from home on a monday so i just explained that i'd have to pop out to take my DS to school to my boss which he was fine about. I lied and said my friend was having DD for me but she's actually at home with me this morning and then i'll take her to pre-school at lunchtime. All she has done is moan and winge since getting up! Looks like the change of routine has unsettled her. It's hard work trying to ignore her moaning whilst i try and get my work done. Roll on 12:15 when i get peace from her. I love her to bits but find her hard to cope with when all she does is moan and cry loads. :( I've lost track on the number of temper tantrums she's had today! I really want to be good and have a my shake for lunch but she is making me want to be naughty. Please Please someone talk me out of it. I'm already eating out tonight as i am seeing a friend for dinner. My willpower is weak today thanks to the stress! :( Arrrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Sorry about that. needed that rant to get it out of my system.

I hope everyone's day is going ok. xxx

Well i managed to resist food at lunchtime and just had my shake and an apple :) x
