Ideas please!

I'm new to the site, and new to my diet. I started today. I have to decided to calorie count but mix it up a bit.

So Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I intend to only eat 1200 cals (with a little help from Slimfast) Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays up it to 1500. And Sundays to have a day off dieting.

This yo yo intake worked really well for my daughter.

I intend to keep a diary, and am considering some interim goals and rewards.

I am after some Hints, Tips, and Ideas that have helped you succeed. Any are welcome.
