I'm really bad at finding titles that people will want to read! :)

Another long day over, but I'm feeling really bloated for some reason. I drank my 4 pints and more, but still feel all weird around my stomach  I hope it goes away quickly, because my belt was quite tight today, after being so loose on Sunday :(

I'm about to eat my porridge and I think I'll go to bed at 9 with my book or a DVD: another self pitying evening better spent in bed

It might just be a little bit of water retention Hun, I get it from time to time, I know this sounds like a crackers way of getting rid of water retention but try drinking a little bit extra for the next couple of days and it should ease off.

If it makes you feel any better I've been in bed since 8pm, I'm not particularly tired just so so cold, I decided bed under my winter duvet was the best place for me. That and the fact that it's closer to the loo than the sofa is lol. I haven't been able to get all my water on today because of work issues so I've had 2 litres since I got home at 7 and the toilet is now my best friend lol.

Also just wanted to say I think you're doing really well, keep going Hun x

Aww, thanks Surfhunny, what a nice post :) You're right, it's probably water retention because I haven't been drinking enough during the weekend. And it shows on the scales (I know, I know, I shouldn't weigh myself ) as I've only lost 1lb since Friday :( Yesterday, I only managed 4 pints while working and then I didn't drink when I was home, but today, I want to drink 6 pints. I'm stubborn, and if I can stop eating solid food, surely I can drink two more pints of water :D Can I count my cups of tea as water by the way?

I know what you mean about being cold, I am freezing in the evening, and I don't even have bad days like yours. So I agree, under the duvet is the best place to be, and when OH finally comes to bed, it is even warmer: bliss :D

I am very focussed for some reason, I amaze myself. I am feeling so much better physically. I think it's due to all the vitamins and nutrients in the shakes. Some people tell me that this diet is not healthy, but honestly, my body has not received so much healthy "food" in a very long time, and I think it appreciates the break from junk food. I bet I eat more healthily than these same people who are condemning CD (without having researched it at all, of course ). I guess you'll always find people criticising your life's choices. As we say in France, c'est la vie

Another day in the library and I am meeting with another research student at 11 for morning tea :) That'll be tea with sweeteners for me, and she will probably have something to eat too, but for some reason it doesn't bother me to see other people eat during the day. In the evening however... Yesterday, while I was feeding the rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters (yes, I almost qualify as a farm ) I found their pellets really appealing, and their veggies too!:p Thank God for my little furry friends, they really distract me in the evning, usually by being naughty and chewing on something they shouldn't (why chew the toys when you can chew the sofa? Honestly? :D)

And I'm wearing a size 20 jumper today, but it is very generously sized, so let's say it is a 22. And I'm not even squeezed in it :D

Organising a wedding can be a real nightmare! CD is a walk in the park compared to that

Anyway, I am staying home today, as I am sick. I joked this morning, saying I have man flu, and it is true, this is man flu. I only have a sore throat and I can feel a cold coming, but life is hard enough as it is on CD :( Because I can't take any throat medicine, I resorted to good old warm salted water and aspirine to clean the throat, and it helps :)

I also drank 5 pints yesterday (I know, I said I would drink 6 ) and it definitely shows on the scales. I have been monitoring my water consumption and my weight loss, and I am almost certain that water helps me lose more. I know everyone says in on here, but I needed to check it for myself :p

Friday is already 2 nights away  Time flies by so quickly. I'm getting married in 5 months, which means that in 4 months I'll have to try my dress on!!!!

A good-ish day doing nothing today :) Well, that's not true, I did a chocolate cake for OH today, and it was reaaaallyyyyyyy hard

But I did it, and now I'm not tempted by it anymore. I have just eaten my porridge and watching Ugly Betty on TV :D

I can't wait for Friday!!!

Day 14

Tomorrow's WI! I hope my scales' batteries will survive till then. That would be just my luck though if they didn't

Today was busy doing nothing. No, that's not true, I wrote the wedding invites and contacted someone to print them. A friend of mine, a freelance graphic designer, is designing the invites and they look gorgeous! :D

I also visited the wedding shop of my small little town (yes, we do have a wedding shop!) and found the perfect waistecoat and tie for OH. Just need to convince posh and picky FIL to go and dress there (OH would like his father and bestman, etc to be dressed the same).

I bought his medicine so now he can breathe properly! (He is asthmatic) and I chased after one of my bunnies who stole one of my postage stamps! 56p gone in her greedy tummy

Today, i'm wearing a hoodie I bought right before the diet. it is a size 20 and used to be really tight. Now it is really nice at the top and around the arms, but still a bit tight around the hips (it is a long one): but who cares? It fits!

I have been good with the water. And I cooked a lovely dinner for OH. I'm not even tempted as I cooked him sausages and I am a vegetarian. And even the chocolate cake he is eating now doesn't make me feel like I need to eat it. I'm stronger than food! Yes I am :D

Well done, Ellie! You are doing sooooo well! Keep it up and you'll be at goal before you know it. :D

You're doing really well Elie :) you will smash that target of yours before you know it :D

Keep glugging that water!

Xx

Well done, Ellie! You are doing sooooo well! Keep it up and you'll be at goal before you know it. :D

Well girls, I know I am far away from my final goal BUT I have already smashed the October/Halloween challenge I set my self  I know it wasn't very high, but I didn't know how much I'd lose this time round on CD.

Day 15

Ah, I like WI days like this one! :D

First, the scales worked, so I could weigh myself. The first time I weighed, I had only lost 4lbs. Not bad you'll tell me, but I was so hoping to hit one stone lost this week! And I was all the more surprised that my weight hadn't changed since last night. And then I remembered: I hadn't gone to the loo :D (sorry, tmi!). Off I go and then I weigh 30 minutes later and ta da!!!! 4.6lbs gone! :D

That means:
* I have won my first challenge (the october/Halloween one):winner:
* I'm down one class on the obesity scale:woohoo:
* I have lost a stone in two weeks  (I know it's not much compared to other girls on here, but I have never been and will never be a fast loser :)):wee:
* I am feeling stronger and stronger:superwoman:

I am feeling goooooooooooooood and in Rocky I-can-do-anything-I-want-if-I-work-hard mode :character00115:

Wow, Ellie! That's fantastic! Well done. You are doing amazing. I wish I could lose as much as you. I'm an extremely slow loser, but I keep plodding along. At this rate you definitely are going to get to goal very quickly. You seem really motivated.
Good luck. Hope you have a good week. :)

Well done Ellie another fab loss!! Hope I can manage something this week I'm hoping for albs which will get me back on track for goal before Vegas but I know that's being overly optimistic! Have another fab week, you're doing brilliantly! X

Day 18

Wow, I can't believe it is Day 18 already! The closer to 1 month I get, the more nervous I become because I know this is when most people give up. Of course, I'm not saying that I'll give up, but I know the 4th/5th weeks can be really tough psychologically. Thank God for my lovely, supportive fiancé :D

I found it really hard to eat my 3 a day. I can't seem to be able to stomach the porridge anymore. It doesn't make me sick, but I want to gag every time :( It seems that next week, I'll be stuck with choc shakes and spicy soup, which is fine by me because I really like them :) It's just it was nice to have something solid in the evening. I could eat bars but I don't like them very much, and they're more expensive.

I'll tell you what I love though: the water flavouring! Summer berry, yummy! I was almost disappointed to see that I had almost finished all my bottled water yesterday and that I had to keep the last one for later :D

On Friday, we went to the cinema and it was the first time in months, as cinema tickets can be really expensive. And there, I got a Coke Zero and it was vile! I know some people say that even Coke Zero shouldn't be allowed, but I drank a little the first time I did CD and it didn't have any effect on my diet. But this time, the taste was yucky. So I'll stick with my flavoured water from now on. But appart from that, I loved going out, as we never go out usually. We don't have many friends, or none in common anyway, so we spend most of our time at home with the pets. Sad I know

On Saturday, I went to visit a friend (one of my rare friends :D) and she insisted on giving me something to eat with my tea :D I'm not sure she understood at first that I wasn't allowed to eat anything outside of CD, but then I explained it to her, and, being a biology specialist, she knew how ketosis work etc so she stopped tempting me :D

I have to drink my first shake now, but I'm lazy :D It seems I don't feel as energetic as before, but I'm sure it'll all come back. I just find what I'm working on at the mo quite boring so unless I go to the library, I always find plenty of excuses not to work on it  And because today I was too tired, I staid home and yeah, now you're guessing that I'm procrastinating again

Ellie your diary is p**s funny - I love that you talk like a normal girl going through the daily struggles that most of us fear to write.
Im toasting your success with an imaginary jaffa cake (at least the orangey bit is imaginary fruit and is one of my imaginary five a day!)

PS: My daughter is called ellie as well - coolio name.

Aww thanks Rumbly :D Mmmm, jaffa cakes  Having said that, I crave the weirdest things, things that I usually don't even like! Like goat cheese...... And leeks...... Go figure!

hiya hunni,

just had a good read through the last fe pages of your diary to see where you are up to!

Well done on loosing so much weight already! your doing fantastically!

me and DH dont have many friends in common, although since moving down to be with him, iv had to kind of just get on with being round his squaddy mates... getting used to the vile talk and skanky girls who chase them round lol but we prefer to sit in and "wnjoy" eachothers company - by that i mean usual watch telly and only talk when necessary hahaha

well done for beating your halloween goal! its so motivating!!

dont worry about wees 4 and 5, only people who want to fail fail, you seem so positive, you make your own path in life, so dont worry about the paths other people choose, you dont have to be like them!

onwards, and downwards!!

xxxx

Leek? bloody random or what? Thats like me saying that I am craving poo!
