LoChan's diary - hello!

teenagers eh? horrible creatures :grouphugg: proud of you Lo for how you coped. I know how hard that must have been but you won and they looked idiots :D

I've not been good foodwise either. Have a good day followed by two not so good. I shall worry about it Tuesday.

Come on sweetie you are not loosing that 3 stone shiny :D xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

hobnail boots at the ready so get your ar*se in gear :D

I agree with all of the above - the youth of today are just horrible!!! OK, maybe a bit of a sweeping statement as I am aware of some really nice 'youths', but its the hideous yobo chavey minority that tarnish the rest with the same brush!

You did really well to hold yourself together - I would've been tempted to retaliate, but my inner chicken would've stepped in!!! Then I would've balled my eyes out and eaten my own body weight in crisps!!

The great thing is I can hear your head coming back online - sorry that sentence doesnt make any sense!!, but honestly its great your re-boarding the old sw wagon - am looking forward to taking a nosey at ur diary and more importantly, the food porn!! Funny how sometimes we all need a little 'time out' from the plan to take stock, re-access and relax a little, but its getting back on that counts - welcome back xxx

PS am with Tilly - ready with my hobnail boots incase my 'welcome back' is a little premature!!!

I'm here and I'm being good so you don't need to kick me today lol :D

Thanks for the lovely messages - I was wondering if I'd been stupid just sitting there and putting up with it (was about 15 minutes of the busride) but I thought not reacting at all would be better than showing them it was annoying me.

So aye, scales weren't very sympathetic this morning with another 2lbs on - I reckon if I stick to plan properly I'll get rid of most if not all the gain this week as it feels more like water weight than weight weight IYKWIM.

Stuffed peppers cooking in the oven ready for tea - I know I've taken a pic of them before but since there's been no food porn here for ages I'll take a snap of them for posting up later :D Having the original version I made with giant wholewheat couscous, chopped spring onion and cherry toms and a couple of spoons of chilli kidney beans (my book says the sainsbury ones are free, if they're not I've been eating them lots all the way through and they don't do me any harm :p) - topped with mozzarella cheese and served with a big salad, nomnom :D

Lots of nice filling greeny meals planned with soups, chilli, stirfries, something with tofu and all number of things in the pipeline for this week. Hmn does anyone know the syns of the quorn lamb grills btw, got those and the regular chilled sausages for some lazy teas too, stuffed fridge!

Will come back later in the evening after tea and whatnots to catch up around diaries and such, guess should update the stats too, least the 3st shiny hasn't been lost

As you know hubby is a bus driver and i told him about your bus ride he said he would have warned them one once and then kicked them off.:eek:

He has done this before when kids were spitting bits of paper at people. The parents complained but luckily enougth a passenger had already been into the office to report the incident and had praised mike for his actions:D

its awful isn't it that we should be treated this way by yobs, don't take it personally lo they are small minded unintelligent tw*ts:eek:

When you said about flapping your hands i had to smile, my family has pointed out to me that i have started wringing my hands:eek: so much so i have lost my wedding ring today cos it was loose and i accidently pulled it off and dropped in the pool some where

good to here you feel back on the wagon I have had an atrocious day:eek: and tues probably won't be any better

I have one excuse CHRISTMAS MARKETS :eek::eek::eek::eek:

warringtons was ok but no where near as good as manchesters. Which is where i am going on tues.

I should have been in prague this week end, hubby has a long weekend and I had taken holiday but due to my little " episode" we didn't book it cos i couldn't face going.:cry:
So i am not going to feel guilty i am going to treat it as a little holiday :D

You WILL lose that gain Lo I am sure of it :D:D:D

Good to have you back :D

I'll take the boots off then

Does anyone else need a good kicking that you could use them on? lol

Mn once or twice I've seen busdrivers kick kids off but most've the time in manchester they just seem to ignore them (unless a passenger complains). The bus we used to get home from my son's previous school was a nightmare, dunno what school the kids went to but they were racist aswell as foul mouthed

I think I need to accept I go off the rails everytime I visit a farmer's or christmas market, just can't resist all the goodies lol

The hand thing is weird isn't it? I also start pointing my index fingers back and forth when I'm stressed or I can't remember things, I'm a weirdo  Hope you find the ring :(

Never been to Prague, OH isn't overly adventurous so I'd probably have to pay for a trip myself lol Is it lovely or have you not been before? Book it when you're feeling more settled and you've been back in work for a while :)

Total syns (that I know of) 13.5

Oh wow the roasted cauliflower is gorgeous, I could happily sit eating a big bowl of that on it's own instead of a packet of crisps! Going to buy a couple tomorrow as reckon this will be a bit of a lifesaver to help me stick on plan this week - BIG THANKS to Kally for the idea! :D

Food looks fab Lo
and I am glad you enjoyed the Roasted Cauli :D

Ps make a dip with fat free yog and a couple of
laughing cow lights and dip Cauli in......
died and gone to heaven stuff haha

Grrrr, angry and annoyed after a stupid busride into town on the way home from my mums - evil teenage sh1ts throwing up balled newspaper at me. I didn't move and just ignored them and kept reading my book and repeating 'worthless tw@ts' over and over in my head.

Didn't think it bothered me that much but going round town later it made me think about what people on here have said about not wanting to be their normal anymore and to fit in with everyone else's normal. Not that I don't understand this but tbh I'm not doing this to be like 'normal' people, and I'm certainly not doing it to make myself less of a target of ridicule in the eyes of those 'normal' folks. A new motto to go with Slow is Good as proferred forth by my OH this evening 'Normal is a Dire Insult'!

Just annoyed that it's put something of a dampener on a child-free evening - was trying to pick out something for my tea in tesco then in M&S and I couldn't do it, felt all panicky and ashamed and started flapping my hands around (have noticed my son does this too when he's anxious, hmmmn). Just made me even angrier :(

In the end I picked a chicken and wild garlic soup from tesco (creamy so bit high in fat, around 195 cals for 1/2 the tub) which I had with some granary bread and light spread. Got my OH to pick at random one of those fuller thingy meals from M&S, thai chicken curry that was 495, then had one mini crunchie at 80 cals.

I know we don't do calories here but this be the night pre-re-wagon-boarding so as a guide compared to some of things things I was anxiously picking up and putting back on the shelves I think this was fairly sensible... *shrugs* better than ordering chinese for four and eating it until I felt sick which was another option which ran through my head while I was close to tears on the second bus home :sigh:

Mmph, was in two minds about posting and ranting but I'm happy to read about other people's stressful moments if it helps them to let off steam so hope noone here minds if you do read this - heh that phrase Lily mentioned being afraid of 'here she goes again' is haunting me a little bit... but I'm sure most of you know what it feels like right?...

To finish on a cheerier note just had a bit of a blowout of the synfree kind on the radley website, got a new crossbody bag from the sale and found a 20% off code for regular price stuff so got a cute new purse and an umbrella too :D

Code if anyone wants it is christmasgift - it will only work on full price items though I think :) Don't go blaming me if you spend a fortune though, I'll take the rap for tropical fruits and whatnot but not handbags :p

Hey hun, I was the one that said about being normal and I certainly didn't mean normal teenage idiots or normal bigots, what I meant was what was considered a "normal size". If I thought that my losing weight would turn me into anything like those morons on the bus I'd stop right now and even consider putting it all back on.
Good for you for not letting them get to you too much and sticking to a reasonable menu.
Yeah I did say that too didn't I about not wanting people to think here we go again, but honestly Lo...you never complain or moan and even if you did I'd still love ya and I wouldn't ever think that myself, just scared that others might think it, but only feel that way when I am having a down day, today I'd think s0d them I want to rant and if they're my friends they'd put up with it and think no more of it.
Glad you treated yourself, Radley  I need a bank loan ...Cinta ??? :giggle: :bighug: xxxxxxx

Hi Lo,

Just trying to catch up with some diaries again... I am not sure about the roasted Cauli?! Is it good??

I am not a huge fan of Cauli but I am prepared to try anything that is nice as a snack!

Here is the really stupid question.... Does it taste very cauliflowery?? Lol... And how big do you cut the chunks?? Xxx

Hey Lo, shouldn't the lamb Quorn thingies you were having be free? Quorn's free, so unless you're adding something else to them...?

How do you make the roasted cauliflower, just cut it up and throw in the oven, or are there other tricks of the trade?

I am impressed that you didn't strangle the horrid teenagers! I would have gotten my rage on in that situation. The assault charges would have been totally worth it!

Anna xx

Jeepers Lo!!

You snack on roasted cauli!! Because you want to??? Yeeuugh! I must be doing something wrong - I cannot imagine sinking my teeth into a flowery cauli thing and being happy! That's what I do with Twix bars, y'see. (This is also why I am overweight as well)

(sorry but they're just trumpy and y'know a bit smelly and all that..and kind of virtuous... - I only snack on evil things)

Ohm I may try that - though have you seen Erm's virtually syn-free home-made soft cheese thread? I'm definitely making me some of that

Heya Lily - I understand what you mean about normal, just when I was off on one 'cause of the little boogers that's how it got interpreted in my head, through the red eyes of indignation lol

I feel like I have been complaining a lot lately, but I guess since I went AWOL I must've been doing all my complaining out of earshot of minimins :giggle:

Hehe glad you're enjoying the reinstatement of t'food porn. I do my best to produce high quality images, no tacky stuff here :D

Hi Lo,

I've not been much for cauli either to be honest but it does taste a lot mellower when roasted - a bit like how celeriac changes when you do it as chips too, the strong taste gets toned down :)

I chopped my cauli into medium sized florets (not too small as didn't want them shrivelling up to nothing) - sprayed them with a few squirts of frylight (the buttery one) and sprinkled with a few grinds of black pepper and seasalt. Think they went in the oven at around 190 for half an hour, did a stir of them around halfway through to check how they were doing :)

Think the buttery frylight in particular works really well for this xxx

Heehee, I can put a name to the Meow now, hiya Anna :D

Hope the cauli instructions above are useful - I really enjoyed it but didn't get a chance to fetch anymore from t'shops today so I went without :sigh: lol

I did find out the lamb grills are still free :wee: Very happy 'cause I love them and I've got three more in the fridge to eat up :D It's just watching out for the sausage syns and stuff, was pondering joining SW online for a short while to nab a load of syns. I know I can ask people on here but it feels cheeky asking for lots and lots of stuff

Trust me if any of them had dared to do/say anything to my face instead of being little cowardly gits behind my back it may have been a different story! Got more busrides to and fro across manchester for the next four days, aiming to be a bit more careful with my seat choice for the next journeys, for a quiet life more than anything :)

Yippee Lo is back and so are the food pics :D

It feels nice to be back in action, not much fun disappointing folks with nothing but off-plan confessional reports lol

I don't snack on roasted cauli YET Pomooky, but I intend to give it a go. And aye, I'm aware of your chocolate fixation, Miss Twix Knickers :p:8855: Ooh, I bought a 9-pack of the single twix fingers today and I've not wanted one!

Been back on the slimpods for the past two nights, maybe they're kicking in quick now my mind is in a better place? Hmn, though I have been contemplating saving a couple of syns for a sausage roll/gingerbread man day from greggs again - I suppose the chocolate pod is working but not so much the losing weight one :D

my food never looks like yours:cry::cry:

like everybody else i have missed my daily fix of food porn, and i need more info on the roast cauliflower cos it sounds interesting:D

not that i am a demanding friend or anything:D

have you got your picket line ready for wedensday

Remember I've only got my plate to dish up, and I'm really careful about the presentation if I'm taking a picture of it for on here lol

Roast cauli instructions be above, hope you enjoy it if you try it :D I was just thinking I could get some of that alien cauliflower and the bright cadbury purple kind and do a mixed bowl of those two roasted - will be like a Space Snack, if only my child wasn't so damn fussy

I'm on strike but won't have time to picket, demanding mother has told me to go help my brother childmind, he's not getting the help expected from another local childminder as they're overrun with kids with closed schools on the strike day, so much for a cheeky mid-week lie-in :sigh: On childminding stand-in duty for the rest of this week so at least no work anxiety to put up with, just travelling anxiety instead hehe, can't win

Food diary for today - 100% again and still on my green week :D

B - Milky coffee (hexa), fibre plus bar (hexb), activia yoghurt.

L - 3 x quorn sausages (the new 'not best ever' ones, putting down as 3 syns but keeping an eye on the thread that just appeared on the syns sub-forum), leftover garlic potato gratin, broccoli and baked beans.

Afternoon - Mcdonald's cappuccino (hexa)

D - Tuscan bean soup (from covent garden soup book, sans pancetta to make it green-friendly), Risotto marinara rice balls (recipe from Micci's diary - thank you hun :)) - 2 syns. Big fruit salad pack (3 portions of fruit's worth).
Tuscan bean soup with riceballs.jpg Risotto marina riceballs.jpg

Evening - toast (hexb) and honey (2 syns), muller corner (4 syns)

Syns today 11

Although still on the high end of syns I'm surprised how easy today was foodwise. Back on the slimpods since saturday night though I fell asleep half-way through the second one I listened to and woke up after it had played through them all  Still it seems like something is hearing what Trev has to say for himself :D

Chillpod keeps sending me to the beach in wales m'grandparent's caravan is at, nice how my mind makes it a lot sunnier and less windy than it is in reality lol Different colours sent me there though, blue on saturday, orange yesterday. Normally go somewhere else for different colours... heh just realised this paragraph probably sounds mental for non-Podians :8855:

Bit late now and got to get Trevor listened to and such so will do diary catch-ups tomorrow :)

Night all xxx

Night Lo

Am loving the food porn - great to see you back in the swing of things. Those pancakes are so not diety.

Great to hear you are back on the slimpods. I am still listening to my cd at night, but rarely get to the end. Am convinced I will strangle myself in my sleep with the headphone cord one of these days. The guy gets you to imagine food is plentiful, which, in theory prevents your body from going into a state of famine, but I wake up having dreamt I am swimming in crisps and cranberry juice - must be a little mental cos I dont even drink cranberry juice!!! May need therapy.....
