Just over 40, male.
I'm 6ft tall and well built.
I've not signed up for any slimming plan.
Looking to lose weight through sensible eating and exercise

According to the scales my weight has climbed to around 266lbs which is about 19 stone.
I'm a 40-42 inch waist which I believe is too large.
Looking to get my waist down to around 32-34 inches.

I've purchased a York Fitness Active 110 Exercise Bike.
I'm doing 70 mins a day on the Exercise Bike after my initial first couple of weeks to get used to it.
It's split into a early morning and evening session of 35 minutes each.
My worst 35 minute distance is 17.65km.
My best 35 minute distance is 19.74km.
Usually at least 36km a day.

If the pulse mechanism is correct pulse falls between 120 & 140 during exercise.
Trying to watch what I'm eating more.

Welcome to the forum and best of luck on your adventure!

As stated above, diet takes up a good portion of your weight loss journey ;) what sort of things are you having on a basic day and are you following a plan or just calorie counting?

Regarding diet been cutting down portions and snacks.

I've been using FitFriend to record my exercise bike workouts.
I do two workouts virtually everyday now.
On average a combined 40km which is around 24 miles a day since I upped the workouts.
In 5 Weeks I have covered 1128km on the exercise bike.

Some of the weight loss will have come before I started recording my exercise regime.
Due to using the exercise bike but not as frequently or as energetically.
I aim to maintain the exercise regimen but would be happy to lose 3-4 lbs on an ongoing monthly basis.
With the exercise and weight loss a knee injury which had been plagueing for me for about a year has eased to such an extent that I can walk again without any discomfort.

Another 3.5lbs lost this week.
Another 277.4km on the exercise bike.

Down to 238.6lbs which is a smidge just over 17st.
Through eating less and more healthily.
I'm not on a diet plan.
I have done 2,600km on an exercise bike over a two month period.
That's on average 40km a day but most days it's just over 42km a day.
I have actually had to replace the original exercise bike as it could not withstand my exercise regime.
Purchased a more robust one.
I hoping to continue to lose at least 3-4lbs each month for the next six months or so.

Hi and welcome, you've lost a good amount of weight already...well done.

Hi and welcome, you've lost a good amount of weight already...well done.

Thanks for your message.

It's basically a case of maintaining discipline and having the willpower to continue.

My fitness has improved such that I can cover at least 20.5km in 35mins with 21.6km a best distance in 35mins on the exercise bike.
Heart Rate constant between 120-130 during these bouts of exercise. On average 7hrs a week on the exercise bike. I have one rest day.

Hopeful of losing potentially 6-7lbs over the next two months even with Xmas and New Year to come.
Xmas and New Year everyone over indulges.
I'm wanting down to waist size of 32-34ins which I believe will bring me down to 13-14 Stone.
Under no illusions that it's much easier to gain rather than lose weight.

Another landmark just under 17st this morning.
I try to at least each Mon morning find that my weight is still going down whatever the decrease is.
Any drop is another step towards my end goal weight.
Weight down to 237.6lbs (16.97st) next goal is 223lb (15.99st)
Setting no timescale for this next landmark.

Down to 234.2 lbs.
Another 2.6 lbs down since Nov 14th.
When I lose another 3 lbs that is half way to my goal.
I've had more slack days in the last month regarding exercise.
Nearly 2st 4lbs lost since beginning.

With my weight loss managed to get into an older size 38 pair of jeans with space to spare.
The plan is to buy more clothes once I'm down to around 34 waist.
I do feel a lot fitter since the beginning.
It feels like good progress.

Down to 232.6lbs
Another small drop but it's another step onwards.
A couple of missed days both on exercise and diet so far this month.
Hopeful of hitting the 230 lb mark early in January 2018.
That's potentially half way to my target weight.
I've done well as I've managed to watch what I'm eating most days and exercise most days.
