Hi everyone. Sorry I've not been about. I've had laptop problems, not been very well and we had an inspection at work last week. As a result of this, I went completely off the rails. Amazingly though I didn't gain any more weight! I have been finding it difficult to motivate myself to start back on exante and have been eating a really bad diet of carbs! You name it, I've had it - crisps, sweets, chocolate, Macdonalds (and I don't even like them), cakes, wine, beer, mailbu, amaretto..... and more! I think it's a result of not feeling well, being unable to exercise and feeling sorry for myself!
I've now got a sinus infection following the cold I had and I'm also having problems with my right leg. A few months ago I had pains in my feet -mainly the right one - on the top inside above the instep. At the time I thought it was due to walking down a lot of steep hills on the way to the train station each morning and having my trainers tied too tight thus putting pressure on my feet. My left foot got better but I kept having problems with my right one. I then started getting pains in my right leg around about July, just before I went to Philadelphia. These center around my knee but I get pains right up and down my leg. They got worse and prior to going to Turkey I went to see my GP. She couldn't tell what was wrong but advised I took ibuprofen and make a further appt to see another GP who specialises in this type of problem if it didn't get any better. It got worse while I was in Turkey and last Wednesday I was in so much pain when I got to work I decided to go to the walk in surgery across the road from our office. However my colleagues suggested I went to the one attached to the A&E Dpt at the local hospital in case I needed an xray. After about 4 hours in A&E to where I was sent, including an xray to my foot I'm still no wiser as to what is causing this. The Doctor advised me to take cocodamol tablets and go to my GP to request further investigation. (Initially he was going to prescribe tramadol tablets but suggested I try cocodamol as I could get these cheaper over the counter. After a day in London on Friday in which I struggled to walk anywhere, I have spent yesterday and today in bed feeling sorry for myself. It really hurts to put any pressure on my leg! Am going to stay off work tomorrow and arrange a GPs appt.
So here I am, sat in bed with my laptop, the cat and a box of tissues!
I've decided to grasp the nettle and in addition to going to see my GP, I have started back on exante today. I started with a chocolate shake this morning and am having one of the hot meals for lunch - haven't decided which yet!
I also collected my new bike last Sunday so really need to get my leg better so I can start using it. I'm buying it through the cycle to work scheme which is really good value.
Anyway, it's nice to be back. I have some work to do today but will also try to catch up on diaries. I'm taking one day at a time and will certainly be trying to keep up with everyone else's diaries as I certainly need as much support and motivation as possible this time!
