Shakenomore Diary

Two great days under your belt. Good for you. Have you tried substituting quinoa for rice?? It is better GL wise and has the same texture as rice.
I like your attitude of "plan for life". With that attitude you make gradual changes to your lifestyle which soon become permanent.
Just keep at it. When you fancy something naughty, have it, don't crave it, and remember the 80/20 rule.
Have a good day tomorrow.

Thanks IM, you are a great help on here! I eat Quinoa quite regularly instead of rice and actually had it with the mince and lentils last week. Delicious. I am going to revisit my food plan from my first week on the plan and follow that again next week as I had good food choices and a good loss. I will resist weighing until next week to keep the positivity going! Hope everyone has a good day.

Well I weighed in this morning and the scales are not very favourable! It looks like I am up 2lb. I really need to get back on track. Printing off week one from MFP today and going back to it. I haven't been tracking food either so need to get back to that.I think I have been eating too many carbs and not drinking enough water. Back to exercising every evening too. Oh dear, it's just not easy!

Pity about the gain. Sub consciously you may be in holiday mode for Easter, I know I am! Best plan is to go along to your next class and discuss a plan of attack.
IMHO I think a couple of weeks of being extra strict with portion sizes and food choices. Even consider a wheat free week. In my case wheat definitely gives me weight gain and leads to generally overeating.
With Easter coming up, perhaps be as good as you can this week and restart next week with renewed purpose.
You can do it. Read back your diary here and you will see how positive you have been.

Hope you enjoy Easter and get back on track after the holiday.

Well I completely fell off the wagon for the last few weeks but need to get back on it! I have a lot going on over the next few weeks and will be out socialising a lot (communion, holiday, other celebrations) so I know I will be having alcohol but I am at least going to try to make some good healthy choices in food!
Plan for today:
B: Smoothie
S: Yoghurt
L: Chicken salad, with mustard/oil and lemon dressing
S: Oatcakes
D: Cannelli bean mash with steak and veg

Holidays in a few weeks so I really need to get moving on this again. I haven’t weighed myself and will leave off on doing this for another couple of weeks as any increase will throw me off plan again!

It is hard to get back on track isn't it?I've been gradually reducing intake and making better choices over the last week or so.
Don't let upcoming functions put you off. Make good choices in between events.
We can do our best and no more than that.

Thank you Molly, I just have to get back to it and get planning! I have some lovely salad leaves growing so no excuses for not having plenty of salad. I also bought the Avoca Salads book last week and some great ideas in there which I will share when I get some time. I will start to cut back on portion sizes too and the days I know I will be going out I will really limit the carbs! Here goes!

Well what I had planned to be a good day (Wed) turned out to be a not so good day! Some bad food choices. A little better yesterday and again so far today.

I need to plan, plan, plan and allow for some snacks but not enough to keep a family going!

Also need to up the water, I've been slacking on it too!

Well said and sooo true. Planning is key to staying on track. Well done on plodding along despite little slips here and there. It's giving up totally that is a no no!! Are you still going to your class?
Hang in there and have a good week end.

Well hon how are you doing? Still back on track? However you are getting on, get on here and post to let us all know how you are.
We are all here for each other.

Thanks everyone - I'm still struggling. I know GI/GL is the way to go but I simply give in to everything bad when I don't plan.

This weekend I have another celebration, but will do my best to stay on track. I haven't weighed myself still as I am afraid of what the scales will tell me.

Good luck everyone!

I really struggle also if I don't plan. Have a nice weekend shakenomore and enjoy your celebration. Don't worry about the scales just now! ;) x
