Shocking weather here still......howling gale and raining

......but I'm snug and safe indoors thankfully

Last week at work was very strange

.....I had a completely unexpected visit from one of the national managers, to 'strongly encourage' me to apply for a post that was now vacant due to retirement

It had never entered my head to apply until this conversation. I think I can do the job, though it does mean more responsibility - but it is a significant promotion

I've got the application pack, and that's my task for the rest of the day!

I feel there's nothing to lose in applying at least - the answer can only be yes or no

That's great Darcy they wouldn't have made the trip to see you and encourage you to apply if they didn't think you was up to it! That's one think I hate about my job, it's a local family business and I have got as far as there is to go and so I feel a bit in a rut x
