Extra Easy Voodoo's food diary and ramblings!

The homemade soups sounds lush. That's what I plan on doing next week. Making free soup I can have for a snack.

Don't be disheartened by the 1lbs. A loss is a step in the right direction.

It is lush. And so easy to make now. LOL

That's the thing about having it for snacks isn't it. I had half a batch last night which is basically 2 carrots, half an onion and half a small potato. Nothing really, and I was full.

Thank goodness my soup maker has a 2 year guarantee!

Did your new thermos keep the soup warm till lunchtime?

Yes absolutely. I splashed out on a proper thermos flask that supposedly keeps food warm for 12 hours. I think that would be pushing it, but 4 hours was fine!

3lbs is great!! Reading through your diary is reminding me of all the things I can have. Cheese triangles for example. I forgot bout that.

You finding it easy to stick to?

Cheese triangles are great. When I did slimming world a few years ago, I used them in place of butter throughout the day. Now I tend to have them all in one hit... They are more cheese like when they're warm, iykwim, like on a burger or something.

I'm finding it okay to stick to, despite getting the odd craving for buttery white doorstop toast with marmite, things like that. *drool* :( (I might have to work out the syns on that... hmmm) Trouble is, I still have 15lbs to lose before I reach my original starting weight three years ago! I think I will find it easier once I've reached that 'cos they will seem like proper losses then. It's hard to explain!

I find I'm eating the same things all the time, although I believe that's quite common.. It's cheaper to do, say, a massive pot of spaghetti bolognese full of veges, beans etc (like I have done this week) that myself and my daughter will have had for 4 days running. Luckily she likes it!

How are you finding it @SarahMP?

I know how you feel. I am on my old phone today and there is a weight loss app and I can see my old weight. I gained weight during pregnancy and weighed 195 December 2014 (she was 4 months ish) Then I gained 41lbs in a year. So it feels like I need to lose 41 (only 26 now) to get to the weight I was after giving birth. Then I can start losing weight and be my normal again. I've always been 140-147lbs, size 10/12 5ft9. It's only recently I've been big. It's really getting me down. Almost to the point that it's not motivating me, it's just making me depressed.

Even though I've had 3 good losses since starting, every day feels a struggle.

That's the hard bit isn't it? Getting past a certain point... It's hard to feel motivated when this weightloss doesn't feel like it counts for very much! We'll get there though, at least we're doing something about it now, this extra weight isn't going to magically shift itself just because we have previously weighed less. Seven pounds at a time, that's all x
