Enjoy yourself CP x

Hello, I'm back.

I can report that I was reasonably good on Saturday, didn't drink too much, could have made better food choices but didn't do anything I regret AND I didn't have takeaway :)
Sunday I was a complete nightmare and was very naughty food wise and ate the same rubbish as everyone else was eating, just in smaller quantities. I feel fine about it though, I have spent a lovely weekend with family I don't see often enough and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Tomorrow presents an unexpected challenge, my sister has asked everyone out to an all you can eat buffet to celebrate her birthday. I have checked the menu and there is no mention of anything remotely healthy, not even a salad bar. If I don't eat I will be in big trouble! I know I shouldn't let myself be bullied but this is a battle I simply can not win :sigh: I'm just going to have to see it has a small delay in my journey.

Glad you had a good time CP

Is there meat & veg on the buffet menu, you could always have that.

Its times like this that make you realise that socialising nearly always involves eating food. Just one of the challenges when on this sort of diet. x

Hi Susie, good news! Just checked with the place and they will do me a salad, I can have chicken & bacon or salmon so not too bad at all :) I was dreading it as it's an Italian and the buffet is all pasta based dishes, pizza, garlic bread and the like, the only meat dishes are breaded and in rich sauces. Too many carbs for a week let alone a day!

That's a good result then. You don't want to miss out on all the fun.

Don't know if you are the same but I can never stick at just one slice when garlic bread is on offer x

Well done for taking the initiative and speaking to the restaurant. Great that they will do something for you. Have a great night.

Well done on your loss x great news about the restaurant...Most will accommodate a request...Unfortunately I lose all will power!! Hope you have a great night out xx

Morning everyone :)

Restaurant/party on Tuesday evening went reasonably well, managed to stick to my plan with the exception of a slice of birthday cake which for some reason I hadn't even thought about beforehand. Why didn't I expect cake at a birthday party?! Hubby told me not to let my family pressure me into eating something I didn't want; but I was. They already thought I was stuck up because I didn't eat the buffet:(

Disappointed with a small gain of 0.4lb for this weeks weigh in but not letting it get me down. Not bad for two weeks of juggling the diet with meals out, parties and a weekend away.

Hoping to do at least the next week 100%, also starting week 5 of C25K tonight.

Hope you all have a good day :)

Well done on such a small gain on social weeks. Next week should be a good one if you are 100%. Good luck you are doing so well x

You are doing well CP so don't be disappointed. Next week you will get a good loss so look ahead.

Family & friends can be a bit of a hurdle to get over when on this kind of diet & most of us would have ended up having a slice of cake so don't worry x

Thank you heatwave, thanks to all the support from you lovely people I can still see the bigger picture and haven't lost my motivation to carry on. Here's to a good week for all of us x

You did well to restrict your eating and only have such a small gain - well done :)

Thanks for the support Susie; it keeps me strong x

My hubby and kids are being really supportive and are pleased that I have lost weight and want to lose more. It's the rest of my family that don't understand. They are proud members of the big is beautiful brigade, and every year they are getting bigger and bigger. They think there's something wrong with trying to lose weight and I get comments like "lets see how long it takes to go back on.......why bother, just enjoy your food...you only live once" They look down their noses at anyone who is slim and healthy and make nasty comments. I think you probably get the picture :sigh:

They are right...you only live once....and it's your choice to make it better by having a healthy happy one. You should be praised for your determination (and they are probably are a bit jealous for actually doing something about it) let the remarks wash over you you are doing so well x

I think you should be really proud of yourself for having such a tiny gain in very difficult circumstances. :)

Thanks everyone x

Week 5 couch to 5K completed

I have just jogged for 20 minutes  something that five weeks ago I would have said was impossible.

For years I have said I couldn't do this type of exercise because I was too heavy and unfit and that I would damage my joints. Anyone who is thinking of trying the couch to 5K plan should definately give it a go. If I can do it anyone can!

Well done on the exercise CP. WE do amaze ourselves sometimes :D.

Are you finding you have more energy now xx

Yes I get the picture and I fully admire you for doing as well as you are while having to listen to comments such as these - one thing they are right about is that you do only live once and by doing as you are and getting fitter and healthier then you are likely to be living for a whole lot longer.

The most important people are supporting you and that really is all that matters - you do it for you and them xx
