Having missed 2 out of 3 christmas events (first one was a work team meal that I had to cancel going to because of the snow), the second was the christmas party last night (food would have been buffet style and a free bar) but couldnt make it as I'd committed to babysitting for a friend overnight whilst she went to a gig and i didnt want to let her down.

So tomorrow is my christmas meal with the girls and i can't wait... this is what i am having (from looking at the menu):

POTTED HAM HOCK AND PORK SHOULDER
    [FONT=Calibri,Calibri][FONT=Calibri,Calibri]spiced apple and pear chutney

    FILLET OF VENISON
[FONT=Calibri,Calibri][FONT=Calibri,Calibri]braised red cabbage, fondant potato, glazed root vegetables, blackberry sauce

    WARM BAKEWELL TART
[FONT=Calibri,Calibri][FONT=Calibri,Calibri]raspberry ripple ice cream, fruit compote

Am not even going to estimate the syns as I will probs drink a bottle of wine (i dont normally drink a bottle but we are going out from about 7 til 11 ish so thats going to be my assumption. lol

i might call it a red day and have cooked breakfast, then perhaps a chicken and veg dish at lunch.... have my HEB as the cooked fruit (in the apple and pear chutney) and my other one in the fondant potato. i know this isnt exactly the case and including the red wine i probs will be somewhere beteen 70 and 100 syns but its a one off and i am going to enjoy it. :)

Anyway thought i would share with all...

Wow I bet you're really looking forward to going out after missing two nights out.

Your meal sounds delish but I think your stretching the SW plan a bit with your hex's:rolleyes: Stewed apples can be used as hexb but not pears. Potatoes need to be in their skin, now I don't think that'll be the case with fondant pots:D

I'd be inclined to have an EE day, how many syns have you had since last WI? how many do you have until next WI? Do you have enough to have 1 bottle of wine & all the extras?

I don't want to upset your night out, but it's better to be honest with yourself about what is free/hex/syned food.

Have a lovely evening & don't worry too much about how many syns you are having, after all it is just one night out:D

Thanks for the reply. To be honest I dont have enough syns to spare. i probs used about 8 a day on wed and thurs and today i've used 10.

I'm just going to be good all day and just enjoy my meal out, i'm really looking forward to it and i've picked healthier choices but still choices that i really like).

I'll be good the rest of the week... and just enjoy it. my weigh in is wednesday so i've got 3 days of being good before then. i only have half a pound til i get to my target and am sure if i will still lose it or stay the same. even if at worst i put on a pound am not going to lose sleep over it because i will be good all the next week and get to the target before xmas.

Hey Geordie Lass, how did it go then?

I had thought about counting everything in my seafood mornay (eggs, cream, flour, wine, cheese etc.) as Hex's.

    Hmm not happening lol.

Best meal for years. I hope yours was as enjoyable too!

    Steve

Whereabouts in Goerdie land? - i was in Beadnall Northumberland for the meal;)

    hello

I live in Derbyshire now but I used to live near Prudhoe. Its a name i've used since the days of yahoo and sadly am not 21 no more but 32 lol

Meal was great but I wasnt too well so I didnt have the desert. I was stuffed though after the starter and main. I think my choices on a red day were pretty good so i do think i stuck to plan that well.

I didnt drink much either, due to me not being a 100% (a large glass of wine and a cocktail - champagne with creme de cassis or however its spelt). was a great evening though and i am glad with my approach.

i didnt lose though and stayed the same... so still half a pound til target. i am putting that down to the cough medicine that i was taking all week. 2 syns per teaspoon apparently.... and i had a fair few. such a waste of syns!!
