From Maximus to Minimus - coming soon!

This morning was my now usual Saturday gym visit. Last Thursday I had a tight left calf and it was irritable. Today it was the right groin that was bothering me!

So, I did 20 minutes on the treadmill rather than my nemesis - the dreaded crosstrainer which I normally do first to get it out of the way lol.

This warmed me up (20 minutes on weightloss mode) and the 20 minues on the crosstrainer followed. Suitably warmed up, (sweating!) I then cycled for a further 20 minutes (again on weightloss mode) then used some kind of contraption where I lifted weights using my legs- some sort of leg-press!

Anyway, I was told to go for twice my weight and as I now weigh 79kg (how modern am I?) I set it for 160kg - did a few of them and then went on the rowing machine - again for 20 minutes - so a good 90 minutes - suitably loosened up for tomorrows ramble over the hills!

One minor point was I have a blistered heel as I ignored a trainer rubbing against my achilles. Will have it well padded in time for the wild moor trek tomorrow.

So now I need new trainers - in fact all new kit. Since I'm now taking it seriously, this is no big deal, besides, it is always a pleasure purchasing medium sized kit these days lol:D

Pity about the cost though:cry:

Also managed a big shop at Asda, so fully prepared and focussed for the week ahead - plenty of fruit and veg.

Annoyingly though, I never got my proposed trip to a local specialist butcher or to Lakeland - All because of an early kick-off in the footy (Fat or thin, i'm still a footy nut).

On a more positive note, Florida is all paid for, and spending money and hire car all done too! - Roll on 1st May!

Steve

Oh no, no Lakeland. I would definitely have missed the footy for that :p

On the plus side, Florida here you come........:D. I'm sure it will be amazing.

Tonight I'm doing my impression of a drown rat!

Suffuce to say, it was cold, wet and very muddy in rain-swept Northumberland. They were even putting up sandbags as we left the area to protect properties!

The fields - even on level ground were flooded and it never relented with the rain all day. Even the waterproofs were no defence today!! and some of the rural road junctions were natural fords.

Apparently we slogged and slipped through just over 5.5 miles today. It seemed much longer. Roll on summer!

Sounds like fun........not (actually I love walking in the rain but today sounds like even a bit too much for me !)

Hope you enjoyed it though (in a perverse kind of way !) and no doubt it will have done you some more good 'body magic' :)

Today was the first time in many months I could not walk at lunchtime at work. I have sustained a painful blister and was not risking it in "proper" shoes!

Sooner both my walking boots and shoes dry out the better!

I feel lazy!!!

The laziness passed, the blister healed quick, I wore hiking boots to work and was 1.5 mile fitter by the end of lunch!

Hurrah!

I'm sure lavender will be fine for Steve to add to his cocoa butter or whatever it was that you were using from a previous thread.....:p. (or at least I think it was you Steve ??)

Glad to hear that you are back walking though. I am so impressed.

Lavender whilst girly for you i am sure is excellent for healing blisters and the like.

You lot crease me up. I'll have you know I'm a lavender fan. I use it as room/linen spray, on pillows and even have a foot spray (I love Avon - perhaps too much information there).

I've used Lavender bublebath and soaks for years as it is peerless when it comes to relaxation.

As for cocoa butter - not guilty Gail. I think a thread I was on recommended it for flabby belly/skin possibly. I'm going for hte toning/rowing machine fix - failing that the self-cut ....Rambo Style!!!

I am a qualified aromatherapy masseuse (ha! no one knew that, so the cats out the bag lol) Lavender is anti bacterial, anti inflammatory, and has property's to rejuvenate new skin growth, as well as its lovely sedentary affects! ;)

Brilliant for burns, spots and blisters and believe it or not, when combined with tea tree oil and camomile is amazing for athletes foot (although you have to mix in a base oil first and wear gloves)!

Thanks funnyface;)

I have the odd blister, so that's a double bonus! - fortunately no athletes foot. Nowt to do with not being an anthlete (honest) more with having extremely clean and well cared for feet. Being diabetic it is something I need to be aware of.

I gained a half a pound this week - everyone says that's no big deal, but to me it is and put me in huffy-pants mode for a while. Being 100%er makes me take it personally - I actually felt good and was expecting a loss!

Suffice to say this next week will confuse the hell out of me. I've decided on a slightly different strategy. I'm going to try a week extra easy. I'm also going to reid my cupboard of the stuff I have collected and not yet used. All free or low-syn stuff - although i prefer cooking fresh with fresh ingredients from scratch, I'm going to use up these Bachelors Pasta 'n' Sauce, Bachelors Savoury Rice and Noodles, Ainsley's Cous Cous etc.

Once I find out their values!

I'm feeling so bloated though - I blame my gain on lack of - to keep it polite - toilet activity! - unusual as God knows I eat enough fresh fruit, veg and fibre.

So feel free to suggest any ideas as its getting me down a little:mad:

I'll try and be upbeat again soon though lol

I sympathise Steve :-(. I wish I had an answer for you other than when I have my flexi nights out at restaurants, things usually get better but I'm not sure that's much help for you !

Don't be down though. I'm sure that you didn't do anything wrong. I know (from weighing every day) that my weight varies quite significantly during the week so if I weighed on certain days even if I've been 100% I might have gained. It happens. And because you are close to target (lucky you !) and therefore are unlikely to be losing as quickly, that variation may lead to a gain from time to time. Don't let it put you off. Hopefully you will have another good loss next week which will make you feel great.

Big hugs.

Steve, I also put on 1/2 lb this week too, and, if I'm honest I probably deserve it, last week I lost and I shouldn't have!
Strangely enough, I also decided yesterday that as of today, I'm going to try a week of EE, not attempted that yet, so fingers crossed for both of us :)
Hope we all have a good week
Deb

Steve

Don't let it get to you :)

I know really you've only done it so I can catch you up ;)

That's very sweet of you :D

Bless your little cotton socks - all of you. Feeling better today - probably got over the moping and the weekend is here of course.

I think I was more annoyed as one group member regaled us with the tale of how they went off plan, had a huge 18in pizza with chips and dips etc. (Pizza was 18 syns per slice) and generally ate like that all week - they took off 3.5lb - so funny in so many ways, and well done to them, but it makes me think why do I bother being 100% and think about just one blowout!

I know I won't do it - one will lead to two and so on. Besides, when they have lost 5st and are within a stone or so of target, then lets see how they handle blowouts lol.

I'm replacing coffee for peppermint tea and drinking more water next week. I will get back on track - even if it drowns me lol.

Hey funnyface I just never liked prunes so can't even try 'em.

Never mind the Bullocks (did you see what I did there?) who's Simon Baker?

ok I googled him (ooh-err!) some Antipodean actor in the mentalist (I now see what you did there).

This site inspires me:p
