LottieBird's SnS Diary

Thanks so much everyone :) I am so pleased, I even got a compliment from a work colleague already on my face looking slimmer. Definitely spurring me on for the week ahead. I had a real bounce in my step today, though I am knackered now!

Just off to check all your diaries, hope you are all doing fab!

Just take it a day at a time as it can be scary thinking of how long we gotta do

Well done Lottie it is so worth holding out for few months and watch the weight disappear, then the next step will be for us all to learn to maintain it. A friend of mine lost 8 stone on Cambridge diet years ago, she has never put it back on. She eats three low fat/carb/cal meals in the week per day and has want she wants weekends (takeaway, drink). She is a lovely size 10.

Well done that is fantastic, shows you it is worth it!

Hello, I have been rubbish at updating, sorry. I have been on plan still, but I have had an extra pack today, I hope this isn't a major issue, I have done this a couple of times. Generally the 4 packs are ok, but I feel a bit run down and achey so I want to make sure I am not losing muscle. If anyone knows an allowable way to increase my protein intake, please let me know.

I am still enjoying all of the products, notably the chilli (with extra chilli). I really enjoyed that, plus I had 2 packs so it was very satisfying. I like all of the bars I have tried so far, dark truffa is my fave right now. So the only 2 I haven't enjoyed were the cottage pie and the tomato soup. I'm going to give the soup another go though, generally I like tomato soup. I find my tastes changing day to day on this diet, so I am just going to keep going for a wide variety.

Just placed a 28 day order and got quite a few cheesy pasta so I hope its nice :D

The cheesy pasta is great - if you like cheese, you'll love it. I'm assuming of course that it's the same sauce as the previous one they had - I'm receiving my free sample today sometime so I'll comment then. :)

The feelings of run down / slight ache / decreased energy / brain "fog" ... well.. it's normal on a VLCD. Muscle wasteage will happen regardless, but nowhere near as much as you think. My muscles only noticeably started depleting when I went past the BMI 25 mark previously (so with much less fat storage to choose from). So I wouldn't worry about it too much.
But if you do want to increase protein intake - you could have a boiled egg, or make a porridge pack with an egg white into a pancake. The egg-white itself is the least calorific part of the egg (17-20 cal?) and it's the protein rich segment.

Do what you feel you need to do in regard to number of packs, the weight will come off regardless :) I can't comment on how fast/how slow if you are having an extra one. There is research to say that people lose similar amounts of weight when they eat 650 cal/day or 800-1000 cal/day (which an extra pack+veg gives you)... play it by ear.

You're doing fab, keep the diary up - it helps keep the monotony and boredom of this diet at bay.. at least for quite a few of us anyway. :D

Totally agree with everything you said and you put it so nicely.

Aw thanks! I have only had 3 packs so far today, feeling determined to stay at 4 and avoid the extra one.

Well, here I am at the end of day 11! Still enjoying myself, and feeling far less bloated. Even if it is mostly water and glycogen, it's still flattering :D my muscles were cramping so I some to SnS. They said to increase me salt slightly, as well as ensure I am drinking enough.

In other news, my hubby is applying for a job here in Northamptonshire which would mean he wouldn't be away 2 nights a week anymore. Might not sound like much, but it is the perfect job for him and his type of work doesn't come up often.

Work has been insanely busy, but that makes it go faster at least. This is why my diary is being neglected, I'm just too tired to even think. Feeling more with it today, even cleaned the house after work!

Tomorrow I'm knocking off work early to spend time with my mum, this usually means loads of gossip and coffee! She keeps trying to start slim and save, but can't get through a day, so I am going to give her a pep talk. She did Cambridge before no problem, she just can't get the ball rolling again. My mum is a size 12, so not overweight at all, just wants to trim down for her holiday. Ah she is so lucky, I hope one day my main worry will be going from a tight 12 to a loose 12! :)

Hope you ladies are doing great, just settling to read diaries now x

Aww! Yay for extra energy!! And good luck to OH with the job application.. I hope he gets it!! :D What does he do?

Have fun with your mum tomorrow, at least she knows EXACTLY what you're going through and won't be tempting you with any extras. The tables have turned on the dieting front! YOU are poking HER to do the right thing! :D

I know, me saying "come on mum, you can do it"! Never thought I'd see the day!

My OH is a content developer for local government intranet site, new job is the same but for Internet site, and different local authority. Once you work for the council too long you become institutionalised! This goes for us both. So it's really great this one has come up, we've been waiting 2.5 years!

Here I am at day 13! Wow, it's really gotten easier! I feel quite normal, and just can't believe how routine it all feels now.

As for products, my delivery came yesterday, and I LOVE the cheesy pasta. The cookies and cream is alright, I'd hoped for chocolate cookies in vanilla, but they are more like digestive.

I'm planning for a very lazy weekend, computer games, telly, sofa. That's the order of the day. Has anyone else noticed how many more junk food adverts are on per the weekend? Really quite annoying, but I try to block them out :)

Hee those ads are probably why I opt to watch tv programmes on my computer :D No temptation then!!

But wait until you discover the love of watching recipe programmes (or youtube 'how to cook X')... "food porn" as people on any VLCD affectionately call it... you don't want to eat it, but there's a great deal of satisfaction just watching someone prepare something amazingly delicious... :)

Have a lovely and relaxing Saturday!!
