Lydia's New Year New Me Diary

Hi, I'm back from coffee with mum, very nice Skinny Latte in Cafe Nero.

Not a lot to update really, Grandad has bad days and good days but thats to be expected!!

Did a bit of shopping yesterday (Keane cd, books from waterstones on the 3for2 offer - Marley and Me, The Queen of Sorrows and Marked) oh an a book I have been waiting for The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn. Then popped in to see grandad but he was asleep and didn't want to wake up for me, not even for a choccy biscuit!!

Then went home and watched a brilliant dvd - Juno - don't know why its taken me so long to watch it. I got it from Lovefilm.com - signed up for it last month - brilliant idea as the nearest dvd rental shop is about 3 miles from my home and out on a retail park - this way they just arrive on my doorstep - I think The Women is next to arrive!

I think I am supposed to be going to see Bronson tonight with a friend but he hasn't called so I am hoping I can get out of that - not sure my stomach can take it!!!

OH and my WI yesterday - I STS which initially I was gutted with but then my mum pointed out that the cat and dog bought me some Newbury Fruits for mothers day which I finished off in a couple of hours, mum gave me all her white chocs from the big box of thorntons she got and its TOTM - so when its put like that I think I can be happy with STS.

Yep put like that STS is good. The Love films is so handy i really appreciate it delivered to the door. Hope you have a good week.

M

Hey Lydia just popping by!

Well done on sts after all it is totm and the sweeties! Gonna google some of your book choices now as i'm right out of a good read at mo! Mind u DD went to watch Marley and Me at cinema and cried her eyes out said it was sooo sad and made her feel ill ;oO

Have a good weekend hun x

Oh I'm a sucker for a sad film, I cry my eyes out - had a right bawl at The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - the tears just wouldn't stop flowing LOL!!!

Thought I'd pop in and say hello, well done on sts. White choc yummy! :O)

I know its my favourite!!!

Hi everyone.

Had a lovely day today, went to see Grandad this morning and to see a demo of a special chair made out of memory foam, we've decided to order him one, they are very expensive but he's worth it and he really loved sitting in the demo one and seemed so comfortable with it.

Then went round Warwick Castle (which is about 5 min walk from my house), been before but still, its a lovely place to visit. Managed a session in the gym as well doing 2 mini circuits.

Had a lovely "free on green" quorn chilli with rice, really enjoyed it. Just about to have my nightly Options White Chocolate fix!!!

Going to have a go at making the Slimming World quiche tomorrow (with mushrooms and quorn bacon) no idea how it will turn out but happy to give anything a go once!!!

Me and mum off to the beauty salon tomorrow, I'm having a pedicure and facial - can't wait!!! Oh and its payday and Ive seen some DS Lite games I want to get - 2 for £30 in HMV!!! I'm such a big kid!!

get yourself an R4 Lydia! save money for more books!

Is Marked the new "better than Twilight" series they've been marketing? The writer is a paranormal romance writer and apparently she forgot to tone it down for the first book - there is a very ominous "on their knees" scene which is definitely not decent for 12 year olds haha!

Whats an R4?

Yep I guess thats those books, not sure though that my delicate eyes could take an "on your knees" moment, but I'll give it a good try

r4 is a card you can download ds games onto and play on your DS :) i have one - saves me so much money, so i can spend it on other things like books or clothes :D

ask Jen, shes the r4 guru - talked me into mine :) its brilliant though - totally worth it! xxx

Hi Lydia

Just nosing around :) But wanted to say I agree with Rachel .. I've got one of those cards ... although not sure mine is called R4 ... anyway - it holds over 30 games on it, so not only saves money but space too - specially if you take it with you on hols or whatever :)

Twigs

Hi Lydia, just following up on the R4 conversation.

They are "officially" for downloading films etc but there are sites where you can unofficially download games (if you know what I mean...;))

You can buy the R4DS from Amazon or type it into google and you should get some other options. Its around £14 without the little micro SD card - think that takes it to about £20-25 not quite sure - about the price of one game though.

To get the games, you need to go to one of these unofficial games websites (NDS-Roms.com - The #1 Source for Nintendo DS Games!) is one that I have heard about but seems to have been down the last few days - so not sure if they are still going.

There might be others too. The downloading is really easy - and if you get one, then pm me your mobile and I can talk you through it.

Glad grandad is doing ok. That memory foam chair sounds great. xx

The site is back up and running.....xx

Oh thanks hun really appreciate yours and Jens help, gona have a look into buying one now then I will PM you, you're a star!!

Yes the chair is great and grandad was really happy about it, he doesn't speak much anymore but he did say (when he was sat in the chair) "can we buy", I told him no problem.

Had a bad bad bad day, started off great with porridge and banana for brekkie, then mum said "shall we have pizza hut buffet for lunch" I said with a second thought "sure", then it went down hill from there and has ended with my having chocolate - why oh why do I do this to myself, bring on next week when I am back at work so much easier to stick to diet when I am at work!!!

Have just purchased the R4 adaptor and micro sd card, pretty sure I got the right one LOL!! Got both for £17.95 which seems reasonable.
