MinnieMel is nolonger considers herself a CDer. One final post.

Oh Mel!

At the risk of sounding sexist and/or jaded.... That's men folk for you! I honestly think they need nagging, that's why women are skilled at it. My husband had to be asked 3 times last week to take the recycling out. Eventually I picked it up and went to take it out, he then appeared at the door with an outstretched hand wanting to transfer it the two feet from the porch to the bin. point being he could then get kudos for actually putting it in the bin.... Not so lucky!

I think that when people say they are going to do something they should do it, if not they shouldn't say it!

I know that he is thinking: "What's the big deal? What else does she have to do but go to the laundry mat?" UGH!

You have lots to do! If you didn't go to the laundry mat at ridiculous o clock you could be taking some exercise ( and folding laundry doesn't really count)

Martin Luther King, Jr Day 16/01/2012

Morning!

It's an American holiday -- so DH is home doing what he should have done on the weekend. :sigh:

Three positives:

1) The sun it out -- LOVE IT.

2) The broken washer is being removed atm.

3) CFF is planning to go to aquafit with me tonight. (But, I'll go with or without her.)

Hi Nat --

I KNOW! ;)

Actually, there is so much extra room in the laundry mat (this used to be a bigger base and there were loads -- get it -- more machines in past years), I could bring my jump rope with me and jump rope whilst I am there (or something like that). I should do that.

There used to be a tele but they took it out when the analog went away and did not replace it with a Freeview. Probably not a bad thing, since the teenagers used to hang out in there when they were bunking.

BTW -- DH is moving the washing machine right now and he has called twice to see if the furniture and appliance store is opened today (but there is no answer -- it is a federal holiday, so it may not be open today).

I figure he'd do this -- because I was so mad yesterday. But, it means nothing when it takes me getting upset for him to do what he should. UGH!

Cheer up - sometimes it doesn't matter how you get there, as long as you do. Men are just in need of guidance :)

Three positives:

1) Cupcakes baked for Chapel Youth Group.

2) DS goes back to school tonight.

3) Ordered the adj KettleBell from Tescos.direct -- I'll pick it up tomorrow.

Hmm - I like your positives. I need to be more positive about my days too. 3 a day huh! Its like a whole new challenge.

Lets see . .

1. my cake topper arrived today and it is gorgeous.
2. I have got some work done today
3. I got to pick up my kids from school again, every chance to do this is a blessing I won't have once I find a job.

Wednesday and Thursday Jan. 17 & 18, 2012

Hi,

Did not turn on the laptop at all yesterday... I think I'll count that as a yesterday Positive.

Wednesday's Positives

1) Did not spend too much time on the computer.
2) Made myself do a quick tidy (which DD noticed and appreciated :) ): because the piano tutor called and offered to come to me for my lesson, so she could play the piano. :)
3) The piano tutor thought the piano was a very good buy and like playing it very much. :) She said the lower register was a wee bit out of tune... but the middle and high registers were "spot on", so I should wait some time before getting it tuned. :)
4) I worked out an alternating transport arrangment for Swim Team (J's mom does Tuesdays and we'll do Fridays), so I went to Aquafit whilst DD swam. :) We arrived back at the house at the same time.
5) The person I called for repair estimates showed up on time and seemed very professional. :)

which kettlebell did you order Mel - the adjustable ones?

Yes, from Tesco.direct. I will pick them today.

Great positives -- I got the idea to do this from JackieN.

Thursday Positives:

1) Went to aquafit again last night. (I took DD to her lesson, dropped her at the house and went straight to the class.) That is three nights in a row... I won't do this every week, but I am testing classes and locations, so I know what I like and do not like.
2) I have already (from 6 to 7:30 am) been to the launderette and done the laundry. It is even put away -- and I preparing to clean to the kitchen floor and the dishwasher has been unloaded and reloaded.
3) Grocery list is made -- and after I clean the downstairs loo and Kitchen Floor -- I will grocery shop.
4) I have plans to meet a friend for lunch and see her baby (who is only a couple of months old). I will see if she wants to meet downtown, so I can pick up another track suit for DD (this makes it easier for me to keep up with the P.E. kits... which why I am at the laundrette o'dark thirty two Thursdays in a row).
5) I'll get the Kettle Bell and, hopefully, start trying that out.

Sounds like a good plan.

I think I will start adding positives to my posts too - it makes you appreciate the day that just shot by more. :)

Got the kitchen floor cleaned -- went to see the friend for lunch. Got to hold the baby (soooo sweet he is) -- the friend is tiny (about 5'1" and a UK 4/6) and so she had three big bags of clothes to pass down to DD (age 12: she is 5'4 1/2 and a UK 2/4). She is having a wondeful time going through all the clothes and trying them on atm.

I also managed to pop downtown and after much searching find another tracksuit for DD's back up a PE Kit. YAY!

Downstairs loo still to do and then it is gymnastics transport and popping by Tescos to get the KB and a grocery shop on base (if possible). I may be able to do the base shop before the gymnastics transport -- just leave it in the boot (it is cold enough it should be okay).

You always amaze me with your productivity in thw day mel. How you run around and so much and your head is sill attached is beyond me lol

Morning --

I'll start with my three (plus) positives:

1) Shanny posted in my diary. :)

2) DD was thrilled by the three huge bags of clothes my tiny friend (and new mum) K gave her. And most them looked amazing on DD. I got quite the fashion show -- she only going to keep about teo bags full... so I will offer to the return the excess or donate it to the base charity store.

3) DH arrived home just as I was about to start to the gymnastics run, so I MADE him do it. lol (You have to take DD and drive to a school 12 minutes away one direction, walk in the dark to pick up DD's friend from and afterschool programme, then fight your way through traffic to the Olympic gym and drop off girls by 6 p.m. -- other mom brings them home.)

4) Because DH took the girls -- I had time for cuppa and then went to the base grocery store -- which I really needed to do.

5) CFF called whilst I was doing the shopping and she updated me on her condition.

Note: The American doctors do not think she had a heart attack (although, it may have been a "warning". She had some symptoms on Monday night/Tuesday morning and just stayed in bed for most of two days. when she told me what had happened I begged her to go and get checked out. (She did.) They think she should have further tests (it may have been angina).

I feel like such a slacker most of time. So, thanks for that.

Goooooooood evening lovely Mel :) xxx

This made my DAY! YAY!

Aquafit was cancelled -- the instructor is ill. :( So, I cancelled the sauna and steam visit, too.

I practiced my piano instead.

I will have lunch, do some fitness, shower and dress -- then run some errands including picking up the Kettle Bell I bought from Tescos Direct. Then make dinner, bake some cookies and take DD and friend to swim practice @ 7:30 (and I will read my book whilst I'm there). Somewhere in there I need to do some chores. ;)

I just "won" an Ebay auction -- so DH has now bought me a Coach handbag (like a Radley). I am less annoyed with him, when he is so generous. ;) LOL

Afternoon,

I'll start with my three positive a la JackieN:

1) DS had 3 friends drop by unexpectedly (very nice to see him socialising) and I had made loads of meatballs and pasta, so the "boys" scarfed that up -- then I made some Egg Fried Rice and they had that... and they enjoyed some of the cookies I baked, too. DS then went out with his friends for a bit.

2) DD's swim practice had been cancelled (both the other mum and I had forgotten this) so she had an impromptu playdate with her her friend here a the house. Nice for them.

3) DD's first ice skating lesson went well this morning and she was even "bumped up" a level!

Generous OH :)

When I told him about the handbag, he said, "Gosh, I'm thoughtful."

The cookies turned out well -- and I am avoiding them. I am very grateful that DS's friends came by and consumed several. ;)

What's a mummy day? You get wrapped up in bandages and hide in your coffin? ;)

Welcome to the forum, Willbeyummy!

It sounds productive -- if not quite rock n roll. I think if you keep busy it makes sticking a weight loss plan a lot easier. There is crafting thread on this forum, too.

LOL - a mummy day is doing per per traditional mummy things - baking, cleaning, washing, ironing, and later on drinking gin. !
