I can't write much now - got a viewing on my house (SELL, PLEASE GOD SELL!) and need to get tidying... and cooking breakfast... arghhh - no time, no time!
I think the reason for the iron thing is because of the amount of protein we eat (isn't iron in red meat?) - and it is one of those things you don't want to have too much of...
That may not be the official reason, but hey.
Yep - I spent a lot of money on the supps, but I am a bit believer in you get what you pay for... I spoke to the woman at the health food shop (independent advisor, not commission based!) and she said the more expensive ones tend to be that way because of the way the body absorbs them.. they are made with extra specially small particles that go into the blood quicker... some of the cheap versions may say 100mcg, but you'll only actually get the benefit of around 50mcg... where as good brands like Solgar (the one recommended in the book) is manufactured to ensure maximum absorption.
Ok, this post is getting into a long one, so I might have well continue, hehe...
I'm off to the shops later, going to try and find a slow cooker - I really want to try the paprikash - Peachy, how did yours turn out?
I did ok yesterday - can't remember what I ate, but I was good... however I went out last night, and without thinking had a couple of no no drinks (literally two), but I wasn't even trying to rebel - I just switched off and didn't think twice. Arghhhh. So that's probably not been the best thing for my route into ketosis - DAMMIT... I'm going to treat myself to lots of lovely protein today... a nice brekkie, a good lunch when I get back from the gym... and some yummy dinner.
Hope you are all having a good day!
A x
PS.. ref my earlier paragraph about supps... at the end of the day, we are in a credit crunch, and you can only afford what you can... I am simply explaining the difference in cost. I did Atkins before and didn't take ANY supps, and was ok - didn't feel great on occasion, but survived, hehe... but I think it is a good idea - whatever level you can afford
PPS... for fish oils, an omega capsule is perfick
