New Beginnings

I forgot to bring my Strawberry Water with me, but I have been drinking lots of plain water.

So far so good today, that bus ticket is working well. :)

Nearly time to go home and face HIM now :(

Doing well Mary! Maybe a heart to heart to clear the air with DH? I hate "atmospheres", more wearing than a full on row!!

Menu looks fab today hun.
How has this evening gone with hubby?
Clearing the air & telling him how he made u feel should help to improve your mood :) xxx

Looks like you've got a really good day under your belt ... good for you!! :D
Hope you've managed to clear the air at home - that's bound to help too :) xx

Food yesterday remained the same, with the exception of 2 glasses of wine last night.

Food today.

B - Lighter choices wrap with tuna, onion and LF Mayo.
L - Scotch Broth.
Snack - MRB
D - 1 Pork Chop, Pots, Veg.

Things are still the same at home, but I will tackle the issue tonight.

Well I am definitely off the zone bus tonight, but I have had a good LONG think to myself, and my decision is to go back on the core plan. Its basically eat 3 meals a day from the list of free foods, and if you are hungry between meals, then the only thing you can snack on are fruit or vegetables, but only if you are genuinely hungry.

Things are better at home, but I haven't tackled any of the issues, I have just put them to the back of my mind, and perhaps save them for a rainy day. I have the silences, and even though I feel a little like I have given in, I also feel that I have risen above HIM and CAN ignore his remarks which really did hurt. His BLOODY LOSS.

Well today the food changed from the above list, with the addition of 9 (yes 9!!!) after eight mints. I didnt realise they are 35 calories each - why didnt I look first? However, too late now, and tomorrow is definitely my first day on core. I know the free foods as I have done this diet in the past and its how I lost the weight on WW, but if anyone is interested, I will look for the full list for you.

Molly, even though I am doing the core plan, I with very little knowledge of low GI/GL will try to make it as GI/GL friendly as possible, so when I do post my menu's, if you have any suggestions to lower the GI index, then please please feel free to share your knowledge to make it lower.

I feel better that I have come to the decision that I KNOW I can stick to.

Oh also to the list tonight is just over half a bottle of Pinot Grigio :)

Just fished the list of free foods out.

Mary you are sounding much much more positive :) glad you have a plan that you know & are determined to stick too. Good luck chick xxx

Oh Mary, you are in control again!!! Good for you.
Your core plan reads to me as very Gi friendly with things like:
Only one meal a day to include wholemeal ingredients
Canned fruit drained( to limit sugar)
No added sugars etc
I'll be sure to chip in on your menus, if I can help.
Good to see you more positive. There is still a good run up to Xmas, so you can drop a few pounds by then.

Thank you Ladies, I do feel much more positive today and not as down as in recent days. Went shopping and got a few good supplies in.

Menu today.

B - Porridge made with water and skimmed milk. 1 hard boiled egg.

L - 1 hard boiled egg, 2 slices of ham, spinach, cucumber, tomato, red onion, Tablespoon of cous cous with roasted veg, beetroot. 2 tiny tangerines.

D - Brown rice, core friendly chicken curry. 1 LF yogurt and pineapple chunks.

Food looks great today. Good luck for the day.

Good to see you so positive again hon :) .... Send some of those vibes my way please??!! xxx

Oh yeah - and about the Phil thing .... good for you for rising above - I hate to generalise but he's male .... probably wouldn't understand anyway! xx

Thank you Molly.

I know exactly what you mean Jan. :) I would think you have so much going on with your Daughter at the moment that what you are eating may not be such an importance at the moment, but I certainly hope you can get back the mojo hun xx

The brown rice was really nice, I had to boil it for longer than on the pack though, and I added a sprinkling of chilli powder to it while it was boiling.

Pleasantly stuffed tonight and more importantly - STUCK TO PLAN TODAY :)

Monday Menu.

B - Porridge made with water and skimmed milk. 1 hard boiled egg.

L - 3 Ryvita, Hummus, Crab Sticks. Spinach, tomatoes, Beetroot. Yogurt and berrries.

D - Core free chicken curry, brown rice. Pineapple.

At least 2 litres of water.

Menu looks great. What about a couple of snacks? Wont you feel peckish between meals? I find plums great for snacks or just one or two oatcakes or nairns oat biccies.
Have a good trip on the bus !

Only fruit or vegetables are allowed between meals, but if I get hungry I will add them in later.

Thats why I am adding the egg at the same time as the porridge, just to have a protein as that would usually have been my snack.

Oh ok. Then why not save the egg for your snack. For protein at brekkie, 15g mixed seeds will do instead with your porridge along with the milk. It does for GL, anyway.

Thanks Molly, but I cant have anything as a snack between meals, we are only allowed 3 meals a day. Only fruit or veg as snacks between meals.

I dont think seeds are on the free food list either :sigh:

Wow Mary!! You really are back in the zone, good for you. As soon as you put your mind to it you get there. Brilliant!
