I'm thinking of doing a at home course to progress my career but haven't got a clue what to do or where 2 start..
I was really interesting reading about all your jobs and dreams....
 
ICS offer good courses at home foo fan. did one in sociology a whil back. got a bachelors from it., BTW, im an English teacher but will be changing my career this sept. going bak to uni to become a nurse lecturer,
 
I'm a psychologist and a business graduate and right now the director of business development for a software company. Definitely a career and adore it. Being a therapist was a blast but this is simply amazing adrenalin rush wise:)

I'm a trainer for a large hospitality company, I love training, but my preference would be to work still in the fiels of training but for a charity.
 
There's a real theme of NHS through this thread! I feel a bit left out! x
 
A few nurses. My Mum is a nurse and my Dad a photographer, which seems to be quite a popular thing to want to do.

Not sure what happened with me, as I'm really squeemish!

I own a couple of business, so guess I'm a business woman lol. Although I wouldn't call myself that. The business are employment agencies; one specialising in finance/accountancy and the other doing general recruitment.

I actually studied psychology at A level and degree level (not completed) and wanted to be a clinical psychologist. Having suffered from depression I wanted to help others, but sadly (and ironically) was too depressed to complete the degree!!! Am okay now, so can see the irony in it.
 
I am an Office Manager and PA to Director for a large national company working in the field of construction and building maintenance. I was lucky enough to be interviewed for my dream job in March but was unsuccessful. It was as a Secretary in Saudi Arabia for the biggest oil company in the world :(
 
mia the next step for me is pa/office manager but I'm finding it hard to get there from an admin position, any tips?

HAHAHA - That's brilliant... You work in a bank ATM?? Heehee - my overactive imagination now has fantasies of there being people working in every ATM I ever use to get my money out! :) You must have to crouch down all day!! :p

Apples, I'm going to think of you each time I use the atm for a while... might even quietly say 'hi' in case you can hear me!! Haha!! (well, until bellesgrunny encourages me to talk to the nice doctor about why I talk to ATMs! Hahaha!! :D)
 
I'm a Team Manager working for the DWP at one of their Benefit Delivery Centres. It's a job not a career...a means to an end. What I would really like to be doing full time is Reiki healing on animals, going around animal sanctuaries etc. I do a bit of it in my spare time along with a bit of Reiki on people just to keep my hand in until I can build it up into a full time business xx
 
I've always wanted to be a Police Officer ever since i was tiny! Joined the RAF at 18 and have just done 7yrs. Left to join the police, passed the recruitment and then the course got cancelled last min so now i'm police staff till another course comes up and i'm also a Special Constable meanwhile to learn the law and get experience till such a time as i can move over and get paid to do it! haha..

To carry on the NHS thread - Im a Health Visitor and I suppose it is a career but quite often I feel like its a job. Some days can be very draining but others its absolutely fantastic!

Dream job ? - something where I own my own business dunno quite what but mixing it with being a lady of leisure - lottery winner would be quite good!!!! ;););) xxx
