Nice to have you back Suz,

Wow jealous! Wish I could go to a meeting in europe!

Sounds like a perfect day to me - especially the run with Harley :-D.

We've got a lot of deer round here - luckily my two dogs have no prey drive or I wouldn't see them for dust even though they're both gun dogs lol.

Looks like you managed to stay on track pretty much. I'd have been sorely tempted by all those pastries! I'm sure the run would have burnt off a mass of calories especially if you hit three miles.

Hey Sukibix , the trail jog was really nice, seeing the deer gliding like shadows into the woods was great. It was dusk, getting quite dark, gave a real motivation to complete it as quick as I could ! I kept Harley on the lead, even though he is quite well trained to gun and commands I wanted the run more than the training for him.

Do you train your labs?

Got a couple of snaps, Harley trying to catch a snow ball and him in the bed with our new jack Russell ***** Tilly, she is so tiny, only about 7 weeks old in the picture, she snuggles up with him and they have really bonded.

Green

B. porridge hex b, choc options, and water, 1 syn

L. Home made meat free chili, 1 syn for the red wine I put in, side salad of red onion, cucumber and cherry toms

Apple.

D. Boring, some roast spuds leftover from the kids roast chicken dinner ( very tempted to eat the chicken but I've had my 2 hex b..) rest if meat free chili, and couldn't resist wiping spuds in the gravy in the roasting pan! 4 syns.

Walked another 3 miles to and from station.. 160 done, 3 more, 163 total

Ohhhh I love Tilly and Harley. How cute are they!

Here's my two - this was 2 years ago when Hattie was a puppy. I think this was the day we got her..... The second pic is them now!

They've both been trained in general obedience and agility but not actual gun dog training. They're good pups.

I've only taken them running with me once and they were actually pretty good considering I thought they'd spend the whole time tripping me up - which they didn't!

hope today has been a good day for you x

Wow! They are so lovely, I quite fancied getting a lab, but my son wanted a Springer (trained a liver and white ***** up to the gun, my first dog). Love the lab temperament.

Managed a 4 mile trail run, without dog, bit of me time. Quite tough, but enjoyable, at dusk and saw 3 dear on the trail.

Just noticed that it censored my reference to my female dog!

Omg you have pigs and a paddock!!!
I so want a little small holding - I need to win the lottery first though. My husband won't let me have any more pets: 2 dogs, 2 cats and a tank of 12 year old parrot cichlids (tropical fish) :)

I can't imagine cycling 4 miles let alone 40!!! That's amazing - you must have toned and slender legs like Wonder Woman with cycling and trail running.

Have you got specialist trail shoes?
I've got specialist running shoes but I'm not too sure if I should get proper trail run shoes.

Great recovery food for today too - good choices :)

hope you've had a good day x

Sukibix , this going to make you laugh.... I love fish! Used to have tanks, Tin Foil barbs were my favourite, but you can't beat a good mixed tank. I even wrote one of my A level Biology papers ( thats a few years back now!) on the various domains and habitats of the species , upper level ( zebra fish etc) mid level dwellers( barbs and others) and bottom dwellers...

Pigs are fantastic, our pen is empty at the mo, may look for 3 weeners in May. Great sociable animals, some people can't deal with the end result, but ours went in the freezer, they had a great life with us. The butcher said that they had produced quality meat too. Not easy to take them to abattoir , but they were very calm unlike the others .

Now, the funny bit. I love cycling, running etc but I can assure you I don't have legs like Wonder Woman, I would hope that they were more like Superman, but that might be a bit of wishful thinking according to my mrs. Someone else on this forum asked me what dress size I had gone down to, we had a good giggle about it. I am definitely a bloke with bloke legs.
I have done my time on physics couches and podiatrists, had the orthotics made New Balance stability shoes etc, ran the London and NY Marathons ( just after the towers came down, that's a while back!) ... You don't really need trail shoes if your trail is firm and dry, my NB 858s coped with a bit of road no problem, but when it gets wet and rutty you could do with a bit more of an aggressive outsole for grip. Sweat shop can analyse your gait on the tread mill and give advice.

I've got a day of rugby ahead now, son is playing rugby league for Gloucester All Golds against Hemel Stags in Hemel. That's the day taken up for me.

:-D :-D you have made me laugh :-D :-D

I've only got my family of parrot cichlids now but they're beautiful and so big no other fish could go in the tank.

I love all animals but especially pigs and sheep:)
Since starting SW I've not eaten meat really other than chicken and salmon once. I'm not missing it tbh. Did you see the river cottage programme - this current season - where they broadcast their raised pig being slaughtered. I must admit that will haunt me forever - I knew I shouldn't have watched that bit! Still it had a fab life as I'm sure your little piglets will have :)

Glad to hear you've got superman legs ha ha ha.
I've got running shoes fitted at runners world but wasn't too sure about investing in trail shoes. round here there's tons of trails through farmland which is where I walk the dogs. It's mostly dry but obviously not during winter (all year then hey!).

I'm massively impressed - 2 major marathons! I can only run about 40 mins at the moment without stopping! However in my defence I'm building it up slowly rather than rushing into it. Plus, I gave up smoking 2 months ago so again it's taking time to get the horrible smoking chemicals out of my system but I'm noticing massive improvements already in my breathing and lung capacity.

Have a great day at the rugby.
At least it's sunny!
