Feel sad today, one of my rats is dying. :wave_cry: She's been wobbly for a few weeks now and has basically just spent the last two days on the floor of the cage (I separated her from the others), she's not even old yet, less than 2 yrs old and her sister is fine. She's a red eyed siamese so maybe they're just not as healthy as other ratties. :(
 
I have a red eyed siamese, she's just coming up to 1. Was she a rescue or from a breeder or pet shop? Have you taken her the vets? If she was wobbly could be just an ear infection.
 
Hi Ally, they (the sisters) were from a pet shop and I realised quite soon that it was the wrong place to go! The other (latter) three are from breeders. I think she's beyond vets help now. :(
 
Yeah pet shop ratties are so prone to infection. My old hooded baby was 18 months old when she died but she had that many respiratory problems through her life. My two sisters that I have now are both rescues and have had no problems, apart from Twitch (the Siamese) can't see very well, they will be 1 year old beginning of July.
 
The poorly one has always had respiratory problems too... :(

Anyway, going off plan isn't going to help her so:

Had planned to make salmon and brown rice cakes but they just fell apart in the pan so I ended up with some kind of mutated kedgeree...
Wasn't altogether unpleasant but not what I was expecting to have. Had with a couple of spoons of chilli cous cous. No super free (didn't know what would go with it!) so I left a third of my plate empty and will have an apple or two after.

I have a deal with my daughter, she helps me cook and is in charge of the spices so she piled in LOADS of chilli powder, cayenne pepper and paprika! My lips were burning after and she was fine... She's only 8!
