Personally, I don't think it works like that. I totally get your question - when I first started I was always looking for people the same height and weight to compare to. I was convinced that I wouldn't get the same losses as bigger people, but from experience it depends not just on the individual but on what you had/have going on at the same time.
For example, the first time I started Slim and Save I was 12st 10lbs. I stuck to the diet 100% and it was a massive struggle. Headaches, nausea, tiredness, inability to concentrate - it was a week from hell and at the end of it I lost 6lbs.
I restarted last week at 12st 2lbs, but this time I approached it differently. I was 100% for 2 days, 50% for 3 days and completely off plan for 2 days. It was a fantastic week - lot's of socialising, never feeling deprived and no side effects from the VLCD and at the end of that week I lost........... 6lbs!
I'm not advocating half a**ing the diet like I did (although I have my reasons and they'll be in my diary if I ever get round to starting it!) but I'm trying to say that it's such an individual thing, so don't worry too much about comparing your losses to other peoples
