Susie and Orbit's daily dribble

Aww sorry to hear that, hope you have a better day today x

Susie, We've been watching MasterChef New Zealand the last couple of nights on sky Watch channel at 7pm. Really enjoying it started 2 nights ago and on most every night, so still lots of episodes left. Have you been watching? X

Aw poor tweety bird but be proud for doing your best to save it xx. I swear by Liz Earle eyebright on cotton wool pads. Wish I could shed tears the way they do in the movies but I'm a sweller lol.

Thanks Athena - I was fine today :)

No hun I can't stand those two idiots who do Masterchef UK and my hate for them has extended across the whole world LOL. But speaking of NZ I book my ticket tomorrow - 20 August, and off for a whole month! Just under three weeks at home, then about 10 days in Sydney and Canberra.

Aww thanks Lisa I'll see if I can get some - and yes, at least the poor wee thing was warm and dry and not mauled or eaten in its last few hours.

Change to my menu - I just had the leftover summer salad veg soup from the Skinny Soup Maker book - gosh it is lush, I'm going to make it every week! I think you could have it on low carb - it's just celery, kale, courgette, fennel and stock - I think.

Great on booking your ticket, will be so good to be home.

Soup sounds so good.

never really watched the UK masterchef but the different countries use local chefs. They went to an island and built an underground bbq thing. Really different.

Thanks guys - I have to say, I am really drawn to a club to help me stay focused and accountable but the only option close by is WW - anyone tried it?

No on second thoughts I'll stick to CC - more flexibility - but I have been googling for a personal trainer who specialises in the morbidly obese - not a single one!

I have bad arthritis, worst in my knees, my back and my hip. I've regained five stones over the past five years which is very depressing. But at last I am trying to lose it again. I rang a local gym to explain that I was pretty heavy at 15 st 7 lbs (at the time) and had knee problems. They said that their trainers take every member as an individual and would work out a fitness and weight loss plan that suits my own life and needs.

I haven't got the courage yet to go to the gym but rather than googling for a personal trainer maybe you could ring a couple of local fitness centres and ask for an appointment? A lot of gyms are offering discount memberships because everyone is short of cash now. You'd probably spend a small fortune on a personal trainer so a gym subscription might work out a lot cheaper. Good luck anyway, I know how hard exercise can be when you are in pain.

I've managed to lose half a stone over the past couple of weeks by limiting carbs. At last I'm on my way x

Hi Serial and thanks so much for your post - that's really helpful advice :)

I've tried gym membership before but then I'm too lazy to go  so I thought at least a personal trainer would force me out of the house - but I can't afford it at the moment anyway, so I'll start doing the fab Leslie Sansome in house walking vids next week, at least it's a start.

All good here today, I got a great night's sleep and feel very refreshed. All the veg in my diet is helping too :) I'm really liking having soup for lunch every day - today's choice is the slow cooker mushroom stroganoff, blended up. The soup maker really does make it very easy to be more adventurous with ingredients!

Have a lovely day all xxx

The only way I could make myself go to a gym regularly (3 times a week  ) was to go straight there from work. Unfortunately, I was SO enthused, I got my husband to join, this meant going later, after he got home from work. He toned up well, I felt I looked no different. Then he was getting home later and later, and in the end it all fizzled out and I only went as-and when, -which isnt good.

Morning all

So much for the joys of spring - woke up with a rotten cold - but did WI today, instead of Monday, and I've lost 6lbs, so am very pleased with that.

Lynne - I'm hopeless at going to the gym after work! Probably because it's never clear what time I finish - and when I do I just want to head home and collapse...will try the walking tape when I get up and hopefully that will encourage me to do more exercise.

6lb loss is bloomin fab susie :) I bet you are dead pleased!

Thanks ladies, yes I am pleased, particularly when there has been some wine consumption this week oops, and a small pizza last night oh dear :D

Yes great well done my love !!!! You may feel like going to the gym when it gets a bit lighter but you don't have to join a gym to get fit. Why not try a pt? Even one session they would know what would be good for you then you could just copy ;)

Morning all

Had 10 hours' sleep but feel zonked! Luckily I've got nothing planned this weekend, so can mooch around and get meals ready for next week.

V - I can't afford a PT at the moment, so will do the walking - I just have to motivate myself to actually do it! That's my worst flaw, I think, no ability to make myself do something that is good for me...

B/L - egg on toast and lots of tea!
D - left over chilli and cauli rice

Have a good one, all xxx

Well you should make time. Make time one say for something that a for you x

Hi Susie, hope you are enjoying your relaxing weekend:). Think the best exercise is the one you want to do......! Xxx

Morning susie, I totally understand the lack of motivation. It has to be something you enjoy though like if you are moving ass and enjoying it's never painful haha. "I dance and sing when no ones in"
