Susie and Orbit's daily dribble

Morning lovelies

Day 2 and I'm feeling very positive. Dinner juice last night was LUSH, the avocado makes it so creamy and filling, I had half and wasn't sure if I could finish it (but did later, really nice to have that as evening times are normally my worst).

I've been 100% on it and drinking lots of water and herbal tea, and a sneaky wi this morning shows 3lbs down - all water weight no doubt but I'm not popping over the top of my bra today, which is always a good sign :).

I also felt a bit more alert this morning when I woke up and with a spring in my step. Touch wood, no sign of the awful headaches that others have reported - although it is early doors yet!

I've even got my American cousin started on it - and I think it will really help his mood, help to uplift him xxx

Thanks ladies

Must admit to feeling a bit cold this afternoon, it's nearly July and I'm sitting here in my fleecy dressing gown! The weather has turned, so that's probably it, but might also have to do with the fact that I'm not processing much food :)

Ah well, onwards and downwards!

Whereabouts in London are you Susie? If it's any consolation I feel cold today too and I think it's because of the rain. I'm in East London. Keep going, once you're past day 3 it will be much easier x

I'm SE, Poggie - and you're right, the rain is miserable isn't it?

Considering how big I am and how much overeating I've been doing lately, I'm a bit surprised that I'm 100% so far. I think half the battle is just not thinking about food to stop cravings I don't have. I was reading a cozy mystery this afternoon and all they did was eat pizza so I had to stop reading it, I could almost taste the melted cheese LOL :D

I've got 18 days until I fly to Italy, so am aiming to keep it up until then. There are some lush recipes on the Jason Vale website, I particularly like the sounds of the breakfast on the go and the green veggie power soup :)

Recipes - Smoothies - Breakfast on the go

Recipes - Soups - Green Veggie Power Soup

I made this for yesterday's breakfast and it was soooo good Recipes - Smoothies - Passion 4 Juice Master

I think you're in the right set of mind at the moment. It just goes to show, your body doesn't NEED lots of food, a lot of it's more psychological. lol on the pizza in the book! x

Hi guys - just wanted to say at the outset, I hope me talking about my new eating plan doesn't bother you? I don't want to derail anyone! But it is great being able to chart it all here, so just expect a lot of food porn - and of course you can get me back talking about anything that involves chewing! :)

Anyway - Day 3 and I am f-e-e-l-i-n-g good :D

Didn't sleep great (too busy getting up to go to the loo FIVE times lol) but feel pretty alert and am getting into a rhythm with the juicing and clearing up now, got it down to 15 minutes to do two lots :). This morning is Berry Crunch - banana, berries, yogurt, apples, sunflower seeds and ice - and it's very nice. Later is the Green Refresher - apple, pear, cucumber, spinach combo.

I really like the way the Jason Vale plan is set out - you have two juices twice a day, and it means you can make two up at the same time, and you use stuff up, instead of having half a banana, a bit of avocado and 1/4 pineapple left over, to go brown/off.

And WI and I've lost (drum roll)....7lbs!!! :) At what point does water weight loss become fat weight loss? :D

Sorry to hear about your friend Susie but glad your feeling positive.

Well done on the 7lbs that's fab! Any loss water or not is motivating.

Never bothers me with your meal plans honey, keep posting love all the jucing recipes everyone's posting.

Going to get the Jason Vale book you have (is it the 5lbs in 5 days one?) OH has a fancy juicer that's collecting dust. I'll have to read how to use it and get jucing. x

Yes hun it is that one - but you might be better off with the 14 day turbo loss one, it allows salads and soups - or if you want to just a few out, there's recipes here Juicing Recipes and Smoothies from Jason Vale The Juice Master.

I have come a bit of a cropper tonight, it was so blooming cold and rainy here all day today, I've had a hot cup of soup instead of juice for dinner, and some shirataki noodles with tomatoes - all much less cals than the juices, which are about 250 cals each (so their website twitter feed said), so I'm not worried.

I'm not convinced about long term juicing - think the cons outweigh the pros -

Pluses
- they taste great
- full of nutrients
- I managed to ignore the "You should eat now" rumbles, drank water or herbal tea, and then had my juice when i was ready.

Cons
- fine when the weather's nice but definitely not good on cold days
- boredom with the juicing and cleaning itself - the juices are lovely but I just sighed at the thought of cleaning the juicer up again this morning - and ithe whole process makes a mess of the kitchen
- missing crunch
- fine when at home but not very convenient for work

I've been googling all weekend and a lot of people say that you get a lot of the benefits from one juice a day - so it almost feels like my mind is veering back to CCing but keeping most of it fruit and veg. I'm glad I tried but you know, I ate the noodles and felt FULL - and it was a good feeling - so they will feature heavily, whatever happens in my next mad attempt to lose weight :)

Just found this recipe book for the noodles - some nice ideas if you're looking to replace the dreaded pasta, etc.

I was thinking about the missing food aspect myself and could vision caving in after 1 day, so maybe a juice a day is a good idea or like you said if it's warm weather may a day here and there of jucing. Will get the book though and try some. Can't be a bad thing.

cc is great and so much leeway and it works for you! x

Thanks everyone! :)

That sounds like a plan Lisa - especially as I got another side effect last night - hives!

I used to get them all the time after (you guessed it) too much fruit - I grew up on a farm with loads of fruit trees, so we were always grabbing fruit to eat, but I'd always come out in angry bites that turned into big red sore hot weals :( . So I was slathered in cooling anti itch cream last night, very attractive LOL.

BUT it was a very good kickstart back into CCing - so going forward, it's a low cal brekkie, juice and/or fruit for lunch (if i can't be bothered juicing, I'll just have salad and fruit), then a low cal dinner featuring shirataki noodles - they even come in lasagne sheets which I've just ordered, so will report back :)

Stats-wise, will do a Monday WI so will adjust my figures now.

Oh no hives???!!! I started this because I wanted my flare ups to go away! Juice Master does say there might be a few days when skin gets worse cos it's detoxing.

I'm glad it was a good kick start tho :) x

Yes they are all down my back (and bottom!) - REALLY itchy!

I'm still eating fruit though, but started taking my antihistamine again, so hopefully that will help.

Maybe try more veg based juices? In the 7lbs in 7days book he says if you don't want to stick to the plan 100% then make sure you have at least apple, pineapple or carrot based or a combo of two or three of them.

Hope the itching calms down soon x
