My name might well suggest that I'm called Sally but in fact I'm not
I'm Catherine, I'm 39 and moved from the village where I'd lived for 38 years of my life all the way to Kentucky, USA, in December of 2008.
I live with my partner, Susan, our two daughters--13 and 9 years old--three permanent cats (Tybalt, Ginger and Jeoffrey) and an ever-changing number of foster cats (we are a foster family for the local Humane Society). Presently we have a momma cat, Twinkie, and her four-week old bundles of kitten gorgeousness, Cupcake and Zinger.
I'm a full time student at the University of Kentucky (I feel like the oldest undergraduate in town
) studying for a double-major in English Literature and Gender/Women's Studies. Susan is a Professor in Renaissance Literature and is presently teaching creative writing whilst doing her own freelance writing (she's a stonkingly good poet) and editing. When I don't have my head stuck in a book (not very often) I knit. It keeps my hands busy which in turn stops me from eating. Sometimes it works, sometimes I put down the knitting and snack anyway
I'd lost a stack of weight in England thanks to a combination of SW and an infected gall bladder but since moving to the USA I've enjoyed a food honeymoon that must now stop. The food here is fabulous, plentiful, and cheap and I am easily tempted. Thankfully, Susan is a fantastic cook and incredibly supportive of my healthy eating.
Wow, I've rambled a LOT. Sorry about that
Looking forward to getting to know other people on the forum
