Why are Slimming World leaders fatter than WW ones?!

I will still be obese at target :( I didn't think that was a bad thing but now I feel really weird about it

13st13.5 is a weight I know i'll be happy at and 3stone less than I started at....

(I realise it wasn't a personal comment to anyone in particular but I feel quite sad that people could think its mental)

I didn't mean to upset you sorry, how tall are you? When I say obese I mean people who are 20 stone and over!

Don't feel weird Jezz. Obese is just a label based on bmi right? Those "Worlds Strongest Men" (as an example) are all mega fit, mega healthy, yet I'd guess all are classified "obese". You'll know when you're healthy and happy to call target :D (I hope anyway, I'm still some way to go lol)
At my personal Target, I too will still be "Obese"... having reduced from "Class III Morbidly Obese" that is good enough for me!
Just a label.. don't we all love labels.....

It's a Personal Achievement Target, it's personal to you and not dictated by anyone. It's to be celebrated, no matter what.

I think the person who said its silly to be at target when your obese wasn't talking about the BMI scale, as I never see people who are classed as obese as obese. I think its quite a harsh scale to be honest.

The way I see it is....

You wouldn't go into a hair dressers and be looked after by someone with dirty greasy hair.
you wouldn't go to a dentist if they had half their teeth missing or were badly rotten etc.
you would go to a beauty salon if the staff weren't groomed well.
you wouldn't go to a gym /personal trainer looking after you who is really huge and out of shape so why should we go to a slimming class where the consultant is not setting a good example of how it works and living proof it works! xxxx

Lol,lol,lol!:D:D

This all makes perfect sense.

TJhe problem is the aassumption that someone who is overweight is not setting a good example and not living proof the plan works.

I am still overweight, I am not even remotely near skinny or slim, but I have lost 3.5 stone on SW. Am I not living proof it works and do I not set a good example by a) Going to group every week & staying, b)Sticking to plan 99% of the time (basically whenever its in my control c) Planning well & d) getting straight back on when I go off plan?

If I had the inclination to do so I'd make a bloody consultant, even if I do say so myself!

So true Kingleds. Why dont you go for being a consultant? You sound as if you know what youre doing and I am sure you would be very supportive of your members :)

Ha ha! I'd never be able to give it the time it needs or deserves and whilst I may know what I'm doing I am also a bit too blunt. I offend people on here without doing it in person :) i don't have the tact or empathy needed to cope with whiny personalities, and you get a fair few in that job.

Mind you, given some of the horror stories I get on this forum I'd probably still be able to do a passable Job :)

Hubs would kill me if I even suggested it though!

Yes I think when S W say "just a few hrs work" its a little on the understatement side dont you! My c must spend most of her time doing things connected with S W, but she is a great committed and dedicated consultant who works so hard. There may be many others who do indeed however, "just a few hrs work". And all the lugging of stuff to group, it takes time and physical hard work. I think a good social team is essential to help in group too.

I don't like my hairdressers hair at all - but she does mine well. I went to her the first time because she was nearby, and friendly, and we struck up a good rapport. That's what I need from my C too, fat thin tall short, it's about them making me feel like I can do it. My first C wasn't far off my size, and she motivated me loads. My second C was my size, but didn't have her heart in it - so neither did I. My 3rd C to quote goldilocks was JUST RIGHT, she's smaller than me, she's also lost less than me - but of course none of that matters because the important thing is she radiates everything slimming world tries to promote. She's just like us. I couldnt care less what size they are, I just like to know they are in it for us and with us.

Some people are horribly self-righteous and easily offended. I don't think the OP meant any harm in what she said. Who cares?

She's already clarified that her intent was misunderstood, no need to add fuel to the fire on what is just a standard debate on here.

Seriously all! It's not worth getting this het up over. The OP had an opinion, poorly voiced maybe, but she clarified what she meant. Some people were a bit rude back, that was uncalled for. People stuck up for her a bit. Some people said some stuff that was a bit rude. But guess what? None of it matters! Its the internet! We ARE allowed to disagree without it getting into an argument for goodness sake!

??????? We know the OP meant no offence and maybe it was misconstrued but did we then need someone else to come along and say so.

Of course not Jay - uncalled for as well! But if we got offended by every uncalled for comment on the Internet we'd never do anything else :)

Yep. I was shocked by the original post maybe but what I do like (mostly) about this forum is the fact that we can have good debates without nastiness or finger pointing. We may disagree but as adults we can do that. What I don't like is when we are then told off for disagreeing

Hmm. Perhaps I need to go get a drink!
