    Help with low gl diet?

Hiya Been recommended the holford diet by my personal trainer, and have done a fair bit of reading. It all seems to make sense, but have a couple of questions. Lots of the recipes seemed to include nuts, but I have a nut allergy. Any ideas on what I can substitute? I am also very intolerant...

    Tikka Masala Sauce

Bought a Cuisinart Soup Maker today and this curry sauce recipe was in the book that came with it - so easy, and really really authentic tasting! 2tbsp vegetable oil (or Frylight) 1 large onion, quartered 4cm piece of fresh root ginger, peeled 2 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped 2 tsp...

Where the bargains are at and anything else thats useful.

"Less Than 70 Calories Per Bar" Bars (that is actually their name!!!) in Aldi are £1.29 - not on offer, but cheaper than Alpen Lights. Not sure if they'd still be a HEXB but they are 69 calories each. They come in Apple & Sultana, Chocolate Orange and Summer Fruits.

    Oh no!

Hello, No point to this post except to give myself a metaphorical slap! I visited my parents 250 miles away on the weekend, and its normally just non-stop eating. I was soooo good, so I thought, a free cooked breakfast, tin of soup for lunch, then roast dinner (mostly veg) but with a little...

    Will it ever work?

Thanks all. My DH is calorie counting, and after a gain in the first week and not necessarily understanding the plan 100% I wanted to ensure that I was eating few enough calories to lose weight - kind of checking I was doing it right. SW, despite all the different day names etc, is just a low...

    Will it ever work?

Hi Just a mini rant if I can ... I started SW 4 weeks ago. The "newbie" talk from the Consultant was pretty bad because she had her two kids with her (one a screaming baby) and it came across as much more "Eat whatever you like" and not so much "But remember you are meant to eat less bad...

    Can you eat too little?

Hi, From Weds to Sunday I was really enjoying doing Red / Green days and was doing really well and eating loads. A typical day would be: Breakfast: Two weetabix with milk. Fresh fruit. Mullerlight yoghurt. Snack: Fruit Lunch: Homemade liver&bacon casserole with a measured jacket...

    Do I have this right?

Thanks, I may well make some chicken and veg soup, or ham and veg. Good idea. The chicken kebab is just the grilled chicken on a skewer, not doner meat. In the book there is only doner meat, and I think skinless grilled chicken should be OK. I might Syn the pitta bread as my treat :)

    Do I have this right?

Thanks all! Glad to know I'm on the right track. I've been snacking on fruit (Apples, plums, banana, strawberries) and Mullerlight yoghurt (1 so far). How would you increase the meals so you weren't starving?

    Red/Green Day Question

Thanks! The trouble is I have a very funny tummy that means that if I eat salad pretty much two days on the trot I err ... get the trots! So the chance to lay off salad for a day or so would be great. Hopefully it won't affect my weight loss next week.

    Red/Green Day Question

Hi I've been doing EE for the past 2 weeks, first week I gained 1/2lb :sigh: and then this week I lost 2lbs but I am going to give Red/Green a go. I've done some meal planners and it just feels much easier and better for me already. Have planned 2 red days. Here is my question: Does the...

    Red Day Convenience Lunches

Hi, EE hasn't worked all that great for me so I'm going to try some Red and Green days. At work I have a kettle and a freezer and a microwave - any ideas what Red meals I can make for my lunch? I don't like fish, btw. Thanks in advance, LJB12

    Tuesday Weighers

Week 2 for me and lost 2lbs today. Thought it might have been more since I've been so good and been having between 1/2 and 6 syns a day, but I guess 2lbs off is better than nothing.

    Hungry on SW?

Hi, Week 2 on EE for me, and I'm finding it very difficult. They say "eat til your full" but as 1/3rd of your plate has to be fruit/veg, that naturally limits the amount of meat/potato/pasta you can have, and even though I'm snacking on loads of fruit throughout the day I'm still feeling hungry...

    Newbie SW'er - help needed

Hi I need help after my 1/2lb gain on my first week. The 1/3rd superfree food is really puzzling me. I get it if you have meat and potatoes and vegetables - balancing your plate with 1/3rd vegetables really limits the amount of meat and potatoes you eat - there's only so much food you can...

    Syns in Fruit Salad?

Hi I've been having a 450g Fruit Salad for breakfast on Extra Easy. As Extra Easy means free fruit, and this is just pre-prepared fruit I thought it would be free. My consultant said it will have syns in it, and I've calculated there are 7.5 syns in 350g?!?! 7.5 syns for fruit?! The...

My first weigh in was rubbish

Thanks! My consultant reckons that I've been having toooo many syns where I haven't been exactly measuring them - but usually they were tins of soup or packets of porridge so pre measured. I also thought I hadn't eaten enough but consultant didn't think so. Started with ovulation pains...

My first weigh in was rubbish

 I'm GUTTED! First week of weighing in, and I feel I've been really really good, I haven't exceeded my Syns (that I can see) and I've had mainly free foods. Done Extra Easy all week. AND I HAVE PUT ON HALF A POUND :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( I'm a bit disappointed that I don't get feedback on the...
