Same as you Leona - I am VERY careful with the bars as they are very moreish. I've actually stopped having them for now. Be warned - anyone tempted to have more than the recommended one per day will find themselves rather flatulent to say the least. Fine if you've a dog you can blame, but don't...

    Agony

You are doing really well, and you will adjust to the quantities of water. I found that at night, if I really needed to :giggle:"go" (sorry!) I would drink a litre in a short space of time and it always worked... Ensuring you are well hydrated is a cornerstone of this diet and it will help you...

    really horrible question but..

That's quite bad but funny at the same time.... Just like Fatfighters in Little Britain!!
  13. L

    Berocca supplement anyone?

From memory, Berocca tablets (they dissolve in water don't they?) are really sweet (this is prob why they give you an energy boost....). I'd be careful if following SS as they won't be allowed - maybe sepak to your CDC when you next visit. Good luck XX

Good!!! Glad you started back on the diet. You are taking control and will feel all the better for it. Please don't be hard on yourself - you can't control the way other people are, all you can do is be responsible for YOURSELF. Lose this weight FOR YOU. It doesn't work doing it for others, in...

Yes, you definitely can! Minimins is so motivating, so make sure you keep popping in, esp in this first week. Keep a nice big bottle of water with you - I use a litre bottle so that I can ensure I get my 2.5 minimum. It really does help. GOOD LUCK! XX

What an incredible achievement! You should be so pleased with yourself - but I agree, don't be swayed by those who tell you to stop. You have to do this for yourself, and be happy with your final goal. Really inspirational for me, given that in Sept last year I was fannying about on CD, not...

I am having cravings BIG time

I'm with Edi here.... It's counter-productive in the long term. Many people (me included) use the SS 100% forum as support in our times of weakness and hunger. Mandy, please keep at it! As everyone has said, 12lb is a lot of weight to have already lost, and your lack of water across the course of your day will definitely hamper your losses. Anyone got pregnant while on CD? Does it mess up your cycle?

...and in answer to your question, yes, I got pregnant on CD (2+ years ago) and stopped immediately as advised by my DR and by the wise ol' CDC!
  59. L

Anyone got pregnant while on CD? Does it mess up your cycle?

No, it's shouldn't affect your cycle. The only thing to be cautious of is being ketotic in pregnancy, which is a big no no. Do the diet, get the 9lb off quick (and you WILL!!) and maintain with your CDC's advice. Best of luck! XX

You're not on your own butterscotch. It's why I think this diet is the best for breaking the habit of emotional eating. It's all about cold turkey for me, and it's probbaly one of the hardest habits to break given that eating is of course so socially acceptable (unlike smoking/drug taking...

Cold remedies - can we take them ?

Lemsip drink sachets and the like are sugary, so I would take the tablet form. Hope you all feel better soon. xx
  67. L

    Oh No

Drink your shakes/soups as per usual and make sure you have plenty of water. The toast won't kick you out of ketosis for very long, and water will help curb feelings of hunger. Don't be tempted to miss a sachet, as you need your 3 a day for your nutrition etc... Think about why you felt the need...

  74. L

100% SS with jelly and water flavouring q's

I shouldn't think it's doing much harm, but if in doubt, ditch the jelly, as you know that with SS you WILL lose the weight in the fastest way possible. Do you know what is in the jelly...is it sugar or aspartame? I believe aspartame can be a bit iffy with ketosis and appetite. However, that...

Do the bars trigger anyone to eat more??

Hmmm... I have tried the bars in the past and find that they are every bit as lovely as mainstream sweeties. I do think they are dangerous, and that is why we aren't allowed them until we are on week 3. But even then, I think they could cause problems. I will be giving them a miss - esp the...

    #sos# dreaming about onion bhajis!!!

No, it won't kill you. The scare mongering stories are of people who drink a huge amount in a very short space of time ( like litres and litres in minutes) - very silly, and pretty hard. It's how people in the 90s died doing Ecstasy, and they drank too much water without realising...anyway, I...

HELP - I feel starving - Any advice???

Mia's right, water, water, water. Eating on SS only makes you crave more food, thus prolonging the hunger ( AND don't I know it!!). Only abstinence gets you to the point where you no longer feel hungry, hence the term "Sole Source". You didn't make a bad choice under the circumstances, so well...

Day 4 SS 100% and 7lb gone!!! woohoo!!

So my head is thumping, I could kill for a tin of tuna, but I've lost 7lb since Tuesday am and am so happy! Having followed CD previously, picking at various "low carb" bits during my ravenous times (evenings are the toughies for me...), I have always lost but then fallen off the wagon. But this...

    Not Sticking In!!!

whoooaaa!! 5lb is great - imagine if you had gained it, then you would think it a lot of weight! You have done very well, despite the blips. Give yourself a pat on the back for what you have achieved, and let it help you get back in the "zone" !!! As everyone has said, get the junk out of the...

    Not Sticking In!!!

Hang in there Mia - it's not that bad - you still stuck to it all day. Not like you were back to normal eating - but get temptation out of the way! I find evenings so hard, so spend most evenings on Minimins now!! LOL! XX

Busybee - you are SO right in what you say re. I can cheat beacuse tomorrow I will stick to the diet & sort it out! Eureka! That is me!! - and is totally why I have fallen off in the past. 100% ss for me, as a little nibble turns into so much more. At least with SS, there is no grey area. Keep...

    What to expect? NEWBIE!

Firstly - very well done you! You have done the hard bit - I think, by getting the first few days out of the way. It'll be wonderful to hear what your loss is - I think you may be surprised, despite not feeling like you have been losing - with 100% SS you can't fail to lose...and plenty. I am...

need some help been so good but feel so low

Keep at it Mia - we're all with you. Chuck out the temptation - simple as that. It won't be the last time you can have them, remember. It's what I tell myself everytime I fancy something I've just prepared for the family. The more we stick at this, the sooner it'll all be over. Don't be hard on...

    Day 5 100%

  135. L

need some help been so good but feel so low

Started SS yesterday... so hard cooking dinner for the family, the temptation when ravenous is immense, but I have to stick at this. Nibbling on something only makes the hunger worse so there's no point - I have least learned this about myself. Well done Mia & good luck Dawnio!

JUST STARTING??? Join this Team so we all encourage one another :)

Hi Reggiesmum! The ketostix turn pink to purple, the more ketotic you are. I suggest you buy some from your chemist as they can be very motivating - esp in the first few weeks. Expect to pay c£5 for a box of about 50, I think. Very well done on a great loss. XX

    Strawberry Tetras - yippee!!

    Strawberry Tetras - yippee!!

True - I leave it out for an hour to defrost a bit, then it's lovely! I take it out of its packaging and put it in a bowl to defrost. If not, I scoop it out of the packaging with a spoon.
  155. L

    CD Porridge - Loved it!

hahaha. That'll be why I didn't get any porridge today then Sharon! Very excited about that now too. Just loving the Strawb tetra. Thanks for today xx

    Strawberry Tetras - yippee!!

ok - so it was lunchtime - just pulled my first one out the fridge - what a treat that was! A real rival to the chocolate one - gone off the Banana now - tastes a bit like the packaging, I think anyway.

Feel queasy and unwell and felt the need to eat to feel a bit better

The only other thing may be that you need some water? I find that if I have a shake, sit down to slowly and consciously drink it (how often do we bolt it down whilst doing so many other things!) and drink a litre of water, it really makes a difference. The hunger and queasy-feeling goes away...I...

Feel queasy and unwell and felt the need to eat to feel a bit better

I now keep a packet of lean ham in the fridge for emergencies such as this...unless it's already gone in the boys' sarnies! Just check the chicken's not in any batter/breadcrumbs etc..., although if you are very ketotic (dark purple strips) then a few breadcrumbs won't knock you too far out of...
