Tipperary wobbles into 2024

Just logged in to reply to you as I'm away but saw about your Grandson. My 5 year old Grandson has been diagnosed with Autism. He starts school in September.

Thanks @AliGal . Thats an interesting concept, grieving for the living, I've never considered that before, well to be honest i have never had to. Thats exactly what i am doing, im grieving for the person he wont become. With all children you tend to look at them and think about their future and who they will be and what they will become. I now see a totally different future for him, a harder one and a world he will find it hard to fit into. Im also just looking at him differently and gauging all his interactions trying to see how "normal" they are. Not very PC of me but thats how I feel.

Thanks @Mary2020 , its tough being a grandparent. Im very close to Oscar, im his pal, his go to person. It was him who choose me. He started school last year, it was the school that sent him for the referral. They thought he showed symptoms of low muscle tone and we were possibly thinking dyspraxia. But our heads never went to autism as he is so social. It turns out he is very social but only on his terms. He is now on a list for physio, occupational and behavioural therapies but a 2 year waiting list. I really feel that we need to immediately start these.

Anyway, i had the day off yesterday. I had the children some of the day but managed to escape for some of it too. I did something I havent done in well over a year, i went to a shopping centre🙂. Such a simple little thing that due to covid, and the past few weeks work commitments i havent done. I needed new bras desperately, the old ones where doing nothing and had given up holding up🤣.. The centre had been extended and had new shops which happened to be my favourite brands so i came home with a new scarf, a pair of jeans (retail outlet had a huge sale and did short length ones) and 2 bras.

I had herbal tea for breakfast and had lunch out, a chicken burger, chips and onion rings. Carb overload but i didnt eat the bun. Then dinner i had brown soda bread with cheese. Complete carb overload for the day, not a huge amount of food but all the wrong food. Eating out felt so normal, again something not done in a long time and i was asked for my covid passport. Is this our new normal and how long will it be for. You can't try clothes on in the shops and the retail outlet said you can return clothes but for exchange only, no refunds. So it took 3 goes of buying jeans, trying them on in the centre bathroom and returning them before i got a pair to fit. I knew my size, it was the style that was the problem. As usual they are a bit snug at the waist but fit bum and thighs and are the right lenght.

Wow, ive blathered on. Plan for today, no breakfast and into work early. Swim at lunchtime and no idea whats for lunch after that. Going to try to leave work before 5pm but who knows. Then from next week we should be at full capacity team member wise and the madness settle down. And then in 3 weeks i have a week off👍.

Thats me for today, its official weigh in day and i dread what the scales will say but with the week i have had im not going to worry about it and just try again tomorrow. Chat later

The scales says im STS, Im actually in shock😲

Good. I am glad you got STS so can step on down next week.

If you can start Oscar on some support now - especially help for you all on ways to help him behaviourally at home and school, that would be grand. I'm wondering if with Covid some private therapists have developed how to work remotely with families. If you can get his diagnosis papers that will help.

I know my sister who specialises in deaf children with complex needs has done that, and is recommended by the relevant charity. This time of year she is full on working with parents assessing children remotely and going to virtual tribunals to ensure children are in the right school for their needs. Maybe your Autism Society has resources that can help you on recommendations, books, plans and support groups. School should already be making plans for adjustment and support for when term starts - if they know what to do, and finding out if they don't. In the UK, schools have to do a plan of support measures which can include having some 1:2:1 assistance at school in class or as special sessions.

I am glad you've some good trews to wear. I think having a snug pair to make looser is a great plan. The nurse at the GP surgery told me she doesn't know what she weighs but when her jeans waist band gets tight, she sheds a bit of weight by stopping bread, pasta and sweet things. I wondered if I'll ever be regularly eating those things again!

I hope you have a better week this week and can regain focus on making yourself a trimmer fitter Tipp!

Morning all ,Monday it's day again but I'm not dreading I as I know I have help at work and the backlog is sorted.
Food wise over the Weeknd I wasn't the best and had a lot of carb based meals. But am reading to go today. I feel I will have a focussed week

Morning me again,🙋. Yesterday was a good day. Scales was up after the weekend as expected, a small drop this morning but more to go. I'd like a 500g loss this week and next week but it will take a lot of determination to do that.
Went swimming yesterday at lunchtime, usual 20 lengths and 2 walking to cool down. It's definitely getting easier to do them. Lunch after 2pm was 2 sausages, coleslaw and baked tomatoes. No crackers at all. And no 4pm digestives either. Dinner was a chicken Kiev and more tomatoes, I was cooking green beans but by the time they were done I was full. I had a square of dark chocolate after it and that was my days food done. Plan for lunch today is I have the last of the tomatoes packed and some coleslaw and will add a bowl of green beans sprinkled with sunflower seeds and cheddar. That will make a nice warming dish after swimming. It's quite dull out now and may rain so something warm will be appreciated.
Work was good, with 2 of us to share the workload we got it done. Colleague is out on the road today and tomorrow I work from home. And guess what, she is trying to lose weight and has started on keto, it's great. Not only someone to share ideas with but no one around me eating bread or biscuits or chips. Or commenting me on not eating in the morning.
I have the pool booked for every lunchtime this week but also need to sort out a hairdressers appointment so will need to cancel one day possibly.
Clothes sorted for today, a floaty knee length dress with sleeves and one of the bras I bought last week. It's a cup size smaller so hopefully it's ok.

Great start to the week, Tpp. And fab to have a new keto colleague. I'm glad you have help at work too.

Thanks @AliGal .

Morning all, it's Wednesday and I'm working from home today. I've moved swimming from lunchtime to this morning and will be ready to work by 9:30. I don't have a huge amount to do so will try to finish early and then maybe bring the boys for a short walk or even bring Oscar to the pool. Went swimming at lunchtime and did 24 lengths instead of my usual 20. I had the space to do it as the pool was quiet so was able to move more freely and not lose some time moving around others. Also it's getting a little easier. When I swam before my aim was always 40 lengths but I wasn't stuck with time constraints then. Now the aim is 20 but if it's very busy or I'm tied for time I'm happy with 12. Or if I feel particularly tense or in pain I also do 12 and then hop into the jacuzzi for 5 minutes.
Yesterday's lunch as planned but had it in two bits. I had 2 cracottes with coleslaw and cheese at 11:30pm and then green beans with cheese and tomatoes at 2:30pm. Dinner at 6:30pm was breaded baked cod, more green beans and half an avocado. I had a glass of red wine after it and 2 squares of dark chocolate. Weight a teeny bit down this morning so 2 more full days to get a loss.
I'm owed a day off over the next 2 weeks and unsure if to take it this week or next Friday and increase my holiday by a day. Hairdresser will take me Saturday so don't need any time off for that.

Have a good day all, chat later.

Just finished lunch. I got 24 lenghts done this morning. Just had a 2 egg omlette with pancetta, cheese, scallion, sun dried tomato and pesto. Had it with grilled tomatoes and half an avocado

Morning all and delighted to report half a kilo down this week. Weigh in is not officially until tomorrow but doing it today as I am planning on taking tomorrow off work so tonight is my Friday night 😀. Off to update all stats and challenges and will be back to chat.

And I'm back. I wasn't as good yesterday as I should have been and it will probably show on the scale tomorrow. I finished work at 4pm and obviously was already at home so I brought the boys for a slow adventure walk with daughter 2. At some stage each of them wanted to be carried (along with the rocks they had collected on the way) so hip was sore when we got back. Sat in the garden and let them play for about an hour. Then had dinner of breaded chicken Kiev and green beans and a square of dark chocolate. Fine so far but then sat in the garden with wine and that led to having 2 slices of toast with butter. So counting my 500g loss today as the toast won't find the scale until tomorrow. Lots and lots of water 💦 today I think. Swimming booked for lunchtime again and might do the early session tomorrow morning.

I think after next week I will do a wardrobe clear out and upgrade/downgrade again. I will have leave from work and the weather is going to get cooler so need to see what autumn winter work appropriate clothes I have. I don't need to buy anything, I think I have a number of suitable dresses that will be perfect with tights. Dresses that had been bought for occasions over the past few years and haven't fit since. And I can put the long summer dresses away for next year and make space.

My swimmer on the ticker won't move until overnight most likely. I'm wondering will she ever get to the beach 🏖️. I'm setting goals for the challenges and she doesn't quite make it😒

She'll get to that beach, Tipp. I am certain of it. I've watched her move, sometmes slowly some times faster towards the beach. It feels different this tme - so you'll get to that beach and keep alert so you will stay there.

Thanks @AliGal . Four more bumpy waves and she hits that beach. That is only my high summer goal and whether I hit it or not in the time frame I will leave the ticker until I reach it before setting my Xmas goal.I need a sense of achievement.
I'm beginning to feel lighter. I have 4 pairs of trousers/jeans I regularly wear and discovered yesterday all 4 are size 12. One pair is still a bit snug at the waist but my 14s are much too big on the bum and thighs. I know to some of you that a 12 is very small but remember I am very short and my BMI still up in the danger zone. My top half is still an 18 but now a comfortable 18, not one about to pop open the buttons.
I found some loose skin yesterday on my legs, just above my knees and my thighs, any suggestions about how to tighten it up?

Morning all Monday again and I don't have that Monday dread of going to work. In fact I know that I have nothing major waiting to be done. Swimming booked for lunchtime 4 days this week. For lunch today I have some chicken goujons cooked and cucumber and tomatoes from the polytunnel. I've spent the past 3 days clearing it out, weeding everything and pruning the tomatoes. They will ripen now in no time, though we have a glut already. I've cleaned up the sitting area too so somewhere to sit out on the cooler evenings.
I had breakfast at 11:30 yesterday, one sausage, a slice of ham, one egg omelette with cheese, cooled baked tomatoes and grilled courgette and peppers. Then I actually never had dinner,I had roasted cashews at about 4pm and that was it. I brought Oscar swimming at lunchtime. I got a teeny bit of exercise done,I brought my aqua belt and did about 8 lengths of slow aqua jogging while he bobbed up and down the pool in his flotation vest with me. I can't seem to get him to get his face wet yet, still working on it. I'd like to get him proper swimming lessons after Christmas but need to get him more relaxed in the water first. He was so cute yesterday, he wanted me to bring 3 year old Theo too saying he would have great fun. I agreed but that would need 2 adults to watch them.
Usual small increase in weight from the weekend but that should be gone by tomorrow. I remember reading and then posting here that one gram of carb holds 4 grams of water. Well I think I've proved it to be correct. On Friday I ate a very sweet biscuit going to bed and not once did I get up during the night to pee😂. Id normally be up once if not twice or at least rushing to the bathroom at 6am, nope nothing.
Must get up now and get ready for work. I've no idea what to wear, I haven't looked out at the weather yet. I want to continue wearing summer clothes as long as I can, I hate when the weather turns and you start wearing socks and shoes instead of sandals as then it's only a step away from tights and boots weather.. Though this winter I plan on being in dresses and tights and boots rather than the baggy tunics and fat girl elastic waist wide leg trousers of last winter.
Talk later.

Yea for happy Mondays! My outdoor toms are still stubbonly green and yet another grey day!

Skin - skin brushing and/or mitts in the shower. Not sure it works but at least it's action!

Thanks Ali I will try that in the shower. I got a body moisturizer that is supposed to be good for toning so trying that too. I've started morning jiggling again on my vibration plate and hoping that will help me reclaim my ankles.
Swam at 1pm, I only did 12 lengths and my shoulder was beginning to feel tired. I got swimmers shoulder before and couldn't swim for about 6 weeks so didn't push it as I don't want to end up with that again. I had 2 cracottes with butter at 11:30 and 2 chicken goujons, mayonaisse, cucumber and tomato at 2pm. Dinner at 6pm was fish fingers and fried courgette and peppers. All rounded off by a square of dark chocolate.

Morning all, just had a jiggle and some tea and getting ready for work. Plan for today is a swim at lunchtime, I have chicken goujons, cracottes, cheese and hummus to choose from for lunch or snacks. No idea what's for dinner today

Hi all, dinner became breaded fish, fried spinach and coleslaw. I swam 24 lengths at lunchtime yesterday. I've an appointment at lunchtime today so moved swimming to this morning at 8:30am but thinking of cancelling it as my arms are a bit tired. Working from home tomorrow so will go tomorrow morning anyway. I don't think the day off today will do any harm.
