Bren's Diary

Well, after a couple of spoonfuls of cooked carrots Monday and Tuesday night, I was 100% again yesterday and felt fine. I AM getting very hungry from about 5pm, so last night I gave in and had my shake early and only started to get hunger pangs about 10.30, as I was going to bed anyway. I think that's the key - have a shake when hungry and then I won't be tempted by carrots (or anything else!) that's being cooked before I have my 3rd shake.

Nearly half way through - can't believe I've been on this nearly 8 weeks!

Well done Bren you hve done brilliantly I am heading to end of week 8 too
can't believe it either I hve noticed being hungry at night too over last two
weeks maybe it's the week 7&8 blues !x

I think part of the problem is that it's getting darker so much earlier, personally that makes me want to eat earlier and with a warming bowl of stew....I'm finding that I'm cold pretty much every evening now and have to put the electric blanket on just to get warm! Ironic when I'm taking HRT to stop my hot flushes:confused:

I agree, dark nights and a drop in temperature definitely makes me list after big buttery jacket potatoes or giant bowls of pasta!

Last night me and Clee went clothes shopping, and I spent a small fortune... but all on size 14 clothes! Also, thinking positively, I bought things that would still fit / look good if (when!!) I'm size 12 - ie lots of jumper dresses / tops that will look good with belts as well. Also bought 2 belts, in size S/M instead of even the M/L's being too tight!

Still have lots of rolls of fat very obvious when I sit down, but feeling fairly slim when I'm upright. Obviously still cursing the dreaded thighs, but I don't think they'll ever be slim!

I'm doing my usual pre-weigh in panic that I've not lost much. On the basis of 'normal' loss being 14lbs per month (168lbs a year = 0.46lbs a day = 3.22lbs a week) then I should be losing 12.88lbs every 4 weeks.

For me, 1-4: 22.2lbs
2-5: 16.0lbs
3-6: 15.2lbs
4-7: 16.4lbs
5-8: 9.8lbs plus tomorrow's weigh in. Sneaky hop on the scales this morning strongly suggests there is no way I'll be near my personal 'normal' - I'd have to lose 5.4lbs just to be at my other lowest. I'll be lucky to lose 2lbs the way the scales looked *sigh*. I'd really like 4lbs off so I can reach my next half stone marker, but would be happy with 3.2lbs so I am on the LT 'normal' of 13lbs per 4 weeks.

La la la :happydance: Lost 3.6lbs so I AM at the next half-stone marker (12st 7.4lbs) AND have lost 13.4lbs in the last 4 weeks.

21.4lbs to go - at the same rate, 4 more weeks strict TFR would take that down to just 8lbs to go, and I may switch to 'sole source plus' (I'll be doing cambridge diet by then) for my last 4 weeks to begin introducing tiny amounts of food while the last 8lbs vanishes.

SO looking forward to being 11st-something. Hopefully that'll be in a couple of weeks!

Well done Bren xx

Ps are you a maths teacher?

LMAO - no, primary (although obviously teach maths) but I am a total numbers geek I'm afraid, and my career aim to to be a specialist maths teacher :D

Mmmmm.....don't know anyone else who knows their weight in less than half pounds!

Haha! My scales don't measure in stones, just in pounds, incl. 0.2lb divisions!

Well done Bren !

LMAO - For those who don't know Bren, she is also the most competetive and organised person I've ever met, but from reading this you probably didn't need me to tell you that!

*ducks and runs*

Lost another couple of inches from my hips, but waist staying stubbornly at 34". Thighs and arms gone down a quarter inch each, which is good. Waist:hips ratio gone back up  from 0.77 to 0.83, but only because my hips have shrunk, not because my waist has got fatter. Wish it would hurry up and catch up with my hips!

Got into primani size 14's yesterday. Easily. Result!

Hi Bren, well done on your loss. The end is in sight, will see you in refeed soon. How's Clee getting on, don't see many posts from her. Bet you both enjoyed shopping, i'm spending far too much on clothes just now. xx

More maths! Must send you my stats to work out Bren:D

I did reply to Clee but it's vanished into the ether... suffice to say, she's almost too kind calling me competitive and organised... most would say 'anal'!

Having a crappy couple of days because I feel so exhausted (think I have a cold coming) and constantly hungry. Just keep drinking the water! I'm back in ketosis though after my cookie mishap which is a relief.

Meal planned in a couple of weeks with old coursemates and tutors, bit of a reunion / catch up on all of our new jobs. Luckily I talked them out of a curry house in favour of a 'normal' restaurant, so should be able to get 'white and green' food without any problem.

Seem to have put on 1.5lbs since Saturday  but should be TOTM - slightly concerning that I'm 5 days late, and feeling horribly bloated because of it - suspect it's the diet messing my cycle up a bit.

Really struggling today (still!) - so hungry! I was so starving by 4.30pm I had to have my 3rd shake. Then I was out and keeping busy, got in at 8pm and have managed to struggle through. Going to have a hot water to drink and go to bed now. This morning I was 1.2lbs heavier than weigh in last Saturday - talk about frustrating. Will weigh in tomorrow morning though and hopefully will have shifted it. Still waiting for TOTM. Sure I'll feel better in a week! Nearly 9 weeks down...

Sorry to read you're struggling a bit at the mo, but yay to back in ketosis :) Hope you feel better soon xx
