Lydia's New Year New Me Diary

The quorn scotch eggs are lovely - they are like picnic eggs, you know the ones with chopped egg in the middle? I get them from Waitrose.

Emma - the scotch eggs are lovely, can't tell you if they taste like meat because its been 25 years since I have eaten meat and I can't remember what it tasted like LOL!!

Oh I LOVE Quorn, some of their stuff is fab and a brilliant replacement for meat/chicken and lots lower in points and a lot of their stuff is just gorgeous regardless of whether its a replacement or not. You should definitely try it :)

I might have to get these! I've seen a few Quorn products laying around but i cant say ive ever been too tempted to try them. When my friend was over from Aus, i think she had a garlic chicken thing, it was like a breaded bit of chicken with garlic on, i suppose sort of like a chicken kiev x

Oh you def need to try Quorn is a really good high protein alternative to meat thats majoritively low in points. They now do bolognase sauce thats only 1.5points for half a tub and a Lasagne, but haven't worked the points out for that. The only thing I don't like is the lamb style cutlets.

Food for today:

B - 2 oatibix (2.5)
Orange juice (1)
L - Spiced beetroot soup (1)
2 mini pitta pockets (2)
D - jacket pot (2.5)
1/2 tin beans (2.5)
40g low fat cheddar (2.5)
Highlights mousse (1)
S - milk (1.5)
Iced gems (1.5)
2 quorn scotch eggs (2)
Options drink x 2 (1)

21 out of 21 points

2 litres of water

The only thing I don't like is the lamb style cutlets.

I had one of these for lunch, yum! :) I'm a fan of quorn as well, you can't go wrong with it. I don't think my husband ever noticed that I stopped using beef mince & replaced it with quorn mince a long time ago lol :D

Did all my xmas shopping yesterday YIPPEE!! just gotta wrap it now! Burned 3.5 activity points and walked over 15,000 steps, well and truly exhausted by the time I got home and went to bed really early! Woke up this morning with a cold!!

Had a chinese buffet yesterday when I was out but a sneaky peek on the scales shows that I haven't put on, must be all that walking!!

Gonna make the Vegetable Jalfrezi from Jamies Olivers Ministry of Food book tonight, works out at 2.5 points per serving. Gonna have some tilda coconut lime and chilli rice with it and a Tescos mini LC naan.

Oh wow! I've got a few presents sorted but still have to get the rest! x

Now, that's well organised. I always do well on weeks when I do a lot of walking but I've had such problems with my ankle for so long now it's been ages since I've done any walking apart from half an hour with the dog. Going to Meadowhall with my son when he gets paid to do some Xmas shopping so that will crank up the activity points!

The veg jalfrezi sounds lovely.

I'm looking forward to cooking it, love a good curry on a Saturday night and when its all low points!!!

Feel exhausted today though LOL!! Couldn't managed my swim and as I have a bit of a cold don't think I will risk it tomorrow either.

I'm very pleased with my shopping yesterday, everybody has got what they wanted.

That's good - I've done about half my shopping. Will do some on Amazon; plus I always do some impulse buying so people end up getting more than they bargained for lol.

Will you post up the jalfrezi recipe? ta x

yep will do it tomorrow, have had to make a few minor adjustments to make it more WW friendly so will make sure its edible first LOL!!!

welldone for your weightloss and goodluck for your next weigh in :)

Thanks sweetie x

mmm that jalfrezi sounds yummy.. i hope its nice cause i'd like to steal the recipe too :D i cant believe all your shopping is done.. i have 3 more presents to buy and i'm all done - was so pleased with myself.. especially my xmas cards with brussel sprouts with googly eyes and santa hats on :p *easily amused*

The Jalfrezi was absolutely lovely, will post it in the next day or two, need to be at home to do it. I made the Mushroom & Stilton Filo parcels yesterday for dinner (from the Food for Friends book), again absolutely lovely, might make a lovely Xmas Day dinner for veggies.

Weigh in tonight, well Ive been really good this week so fingers crossed, I don't even like to hazard a guess on how I have done, I seem to jinx myself LOL!!!

Good luck for WI x

good luck! :D *waits patiently for news*

I put on 1.5lbs and I am absolutely gutted I just don't understand, I was really good have walked every day!! My scales showed a 1lb loss but didn't want to say anything in case this happened. I said to the leader that my scales showed a 1lb loss she assured me that my scales weren't accurate. So when I got home I weighed out 2 different things to 3lbs on the kitchen scales and put them on the bathroom scales on 5 different locations throughout the house (bathroom, kitchen (x2) and dining room (x2) and every single time they showed up 3lbs, so I know my scales are accurate.

Feel like cancelling my monthly pass and going it alone at home - afterall the leader is always banging on about how much more weight people lose by coming to meetings. I couldn't stay for the talk I was just so humilated and upset just wanted to go home.

Don't know if I will be about much this week, I'm in a right sulk (well at least I'm honest LOL!!).

Maybe I don't eat or drink enough on weigh in days? I had 5.5 points of food and 2 cups of coffee, 1 pint of water but nothing at all after 2 pm?
