Meli's Weight Loss Diary 2011

Wow Meli, that's fantastic!! You're so on a roll now and I'm sure the exercise is making a big difference!! I on the other hand gained 4lb this week!! So annoyed with myself- I think it's last weekend with my family catching up with me and I really need to up my exercise BIG TIME!! It's given me a real incentive to be ultra good and active this week!!X

Thanks and yes I am really happy about the loss :) Still have a long way...but every bit is helping.
Funcurls: Already replied on your diary hun and know that you just need one good week to jump back on plan and get those losses going again, so don't worry. You will do it!

Trying to go to the gym again today...need some me time...

Green Day-

Breakfast (at 12pm- had another agency interview today)- Egg, Baked Beans, Fried Mushrooms
Lunch- BNS/Carrot/Celery/Onion Soup, 3 LC cheese (HEA) with 3 Ryvita WG Crackerbread (.5HEB)
Snack- Shapes yogurt and melon (SS)
Dinner- Spaghetti with Quorn Meatballs/Tomatoe Sauce, 1 Warburton WM Toast (.5HEB) with Melted Cheese (HEA)
Snack- 2 Alpen Lights (HEB) with Green Lemon Tea, Skinny Cow Ice Cream (4.5 syns)

Water: 1.5 litres

Didn't get to go to the gym yesterday as I got tied up on the net and then OH decided to take me out at night and watch a movie- he needs to score bonus points big time. We watched The Last 3 Days- it was a good action film :)

Hit the gym today a little later than usual and didn't enjoy it as much and at one point felt like throwing up. Never going again with a full stomach. Did 20 mins Treadmill jogging (increasing the speed now), 15 mins Bike, 15 mins Cross Trainer, 3 mins rower (this one kills me) and then the weights. So spent a little over an hour there.

Had a green day today:

Breakfast- Egg with Baked Beans
Lunch- BNS Soup, 6 Ryvita WG CrackerBread (HEB) with 2 LC Cheese (HEA)
Snack- Onken FF Vanilla Yogurt (could have easily had the whole thing, but only had a little less than half), 2 kiwis
Dinner- Leftover Spaghetti with Quorn Meatballs from yesterday
Snack- 2 Alpen Lights (HEB) with Green Lemon Tea, Melon (SS), Mikados (5 syns)

Water: 1.5 litres
Exercise: over an hour at the gym

Well done Meli! I am so proud of you for being so completely in 'The Zone'!! Your gym workout sounds amazing!! Are you really starting to see results yet and if so in which areas are you noticing it? You'll be proud of me- I have now done my Davina Body Buff DVD yesterday and today! Finding it really difficult but it's very full-on and highly intense which I know will get results!! But when I start to see them is another story!! Hope it's soon!! I'm also really feeling back in control and enjoying following the plan to the letter and not cheating one bit!! Veg curry for tea this evening! Made a big vat last night!!

Wow your oh defo gets brownie points for taking you out to the movies!!

Lozzaluv, HX

Well Done Funcurls- keep at it! It will pay off :)
I didn't do my measurements so I really must do them. Will try to log them tonight and check after a month and see if there is a difference. I personally can already see a difference as my size 12 jeans were no where near fitting and now they are at least closing (although a bit tight), so definately getting there.

Treated myself to a new pair of tennis shoes/ think you say trainers here in the UK. Tried on about 12 of them before I finally decided on some as I want them to serve me for doing the jogging and general workout and also for when I get back into Zumba. My mom bought me some posh Tommy Hilfiger ones and they broke the 2nd time I went to Zumba, so really need some versatile ones. Went for some Nike ones and only cost me about £26 and really comfy. Tested them out at the gym today and they passed the test :)
Did 25 mins jogging, 15 mins bike, 15 mins cross trainer, 3 mins rower and weights.

Having a Red Day today:

Breakfast- a few mikados as I ran out the door to get my shoes ( 5 syns) - I know really bad...should have had something else too.
Lunch (after gym)- BNS soup (finished today, need to make another type of soup for the next few days- any ideas? Need one so that I can have it no matter what day I'm having) and Crabsticks (about 8)
Snack- Rest of Onken Vanilla Yogurt (fat free), 2 clementines
Dinner- Roasted Peri Peri Chicken and Baked Potatoe (HEB)
Snack- 2 Alpen Lights (HEB) with Green Lemon Tea, Skinny Cow Ice Cream (4.5 syns), Melon (SS)

Water: forgot my water bottle when I went to the gym today, so must drink up to get to 1.5 litres today
Exercise: 1 hour at the gym

Hi Meli, love your dinner tonight, you are such an inspiration to us all when it comes to focus, motivation and exercise! enjoy your new trainers x

Dinner was lovely...my SIL and BIL ended up eating the rest of the chicken themselves and couldn't believe it was part of my diet. Actually just bought the Peri Peri seasoning (think it's Tropical brand) and put it on the chicken the night before so it really was nice and Syn free :)

Thanks for the kind words as well hun ;)

yum sounds gorgeous, they are truthful words, not kind, you're brilliant meli x

Stuck to plan 100% yesterday :)
Have good news and bad news today...
Good news is I got a part time job - but not starting until Feb. It's really great as I will have time to go to the gym after dropping off the kids and have enough time to pick up the kids after work. Not brilliant pay, but still it's some time to get out of the house and do something and socialise.
Bad news: Have some pain in my right foot, towards the back (bottom part). Hoping it's nothing too bad, but skipped the gym today. Won't be able to make it tomorrow either as we have a dinner invite at a friends house (for those following me it's the same friend who said to me that she has to be skinner than me when she heard I was doing SW), so will be interesting to see her again. I know she is going to want to sabbotage my diet, but I'm taking my food and will stick to it!

Having a Red Day today:

Breakfast- Melon (SS), 42g All Bran (HEB) with skimmed milk (HEA)
Lunch- 8 Crabsticks (yes they are back...almost finished them), 6 WG Ryvita Crackerbread (HEB) with 2 LC Cheese (HEA)
Dinner- Pangasius fish (This fish tastes so nice) with side Salad (only because the lettuce looks like it will go bad soon and don't have any other HEB's to use today) with dressing (2 syns)
Snack- 1 Alpen Light (3 syns) with Green Lemon Tea, Shapes Yogurt with Blueberries (SS)

Water: 1.5 litres
Exercise: None

Congrats on your new job, you'll love it and it will give you confidence

OUCH! re foot, hope the pain subsides quckly

What is the fish? is it a type of fish or recipe? intrigued....

HATE friends like this! You take your tupperware box but don't put it down until you've eaten in case she does something nasty to it...can't wait to read what happens at the dinner party

E N J O Y !!!

Hey hun, yayy congrats about the job!! Sounds like it will suit your family life nicely and fit around school hours! You'll make lots of new friends and it will add a whole new dimension to your life! Well done!!

How frustrating (not to mention painful) about the foot! I know how much you're getting out of exercise so you must be really fed up about that! Hopefully it's something very transient and you'll be able to get back into your routine very soon! Plus you've built up lots of exercise and 100% days so even if you do over do the syns when with your friends all the good days will hopefully come into the equation!! It's that all-annoying 'out of control' feeling that comes with socialising and other people's food!! I think sometimes we've just got to go with the flow a little and not be too uptight about it!! I totally relate to your feelings on it though! Last weekend neighbours cooked for us and whilst the main was basically syn free (they did it knowing I was on SW) the dessert was full on apple and blackberry pie and custard!! I just couldn't say no to it!! The kindest type of saboteurs around lol!! X

OMG I can't believe your 'friend' said she had to be skinnier than you!! The cheek of it!! Can you slip some lard into one of her courses that you won't be eating?!!? lol!X

Thanks really excited about the job and the hours are great! It's only temporary for a few months, but still will be nice to get out of the house :)

Pangasius is a type of fish- something like Catfish. It's really yummy!

Definately taking my box with me tonight :)

Foot is much better today and actually got out to the gym. Didn't want to push it too much though so didn't do as much jogging today- did 15mins treadmill, 15 mins crosstrainer, 10 mins bike, 3 mins rower and weights.

Just because it's this friend I'm not letting my hair down...if it would be anyone else would probably have a few syns ;) I'm almost close to her weight and wearing a great new outfit today that shows off my curves...so will be interesting to get the feedback from her tonight. I know she will just ask me to have just one of this or that, but will stay firm.

Having a green day today:

Breakfast- Loads of HoneydewMelon (ss)
Lunch- 2 egg omelette with spinach, onions, peppers on 2 slices of Warburton Bread (HEB)with cucumber and mayo (1 syn)
Snack- 2 clementines, 1 apple
This at my friends house:
Dinner- AH Cous Cous (.5syn) with Quorn Sausages and Fried Mushrooms and Corn on the Cob
Snack (while they are all having dessert)- 2 Alpen Lights (HEB) with Green Lemon Tea, Shapes Yogurt, 3 Ryvita WG CrackerBread (3 syns) with 1 LC Cheese (HEA)

Water: 1.5 litres
Exercise: 50 mins at the gym

Great news that naughty Mr Foot hasn't stopped you from going for gold!! Do make sure you relax this evening though and don't let yourself feel that you're being scrutinised!! Don't let your friend feel like it's a competition because it's not!! Noone should make you feel like that but I can definitely see why your on your guard!!X

well done on make it back to the gym, glad you took caution not to overdo it

you go girl! you shove your new curves right under her nose, can't wait to hear if she has commented positively..bet she tells you not to lose anymore

Got to my friends place and first thing she commented was on how good I looked. Was wearing one of those flairy black jackets and she opened it up and she said "wow look at you, you've done something different today". Even OH thought I looked great as he wanted to take pics of me on his mobile before we left the house. I did make more of an effort and straightened my hair and wore more accessories too, but yeah the new me looks good too and I think you can tell that the gym is doing me good. Of all the days I've gone to her house I think yesterday was the day she cooked the most- Shami kebabs, KFC Style Chicken, Pilau Rice, Lamb Curry, Veggie Curry, Samosas and Turkish Naan. She said " see what you are going to miss out on???" "Come on just have one", but stuck to my Quorn Sausages, Cous Cous and Fried Mushrooms (had the Corn for Lunch instead of dinner). I even skipped the 3 desserts and biscuits, rolls, cupcakes and just munched on my Alpen Lights and Green Lemon Tea while everyone else just ate and enjoyed around me. Made me feel good though that I could resist and was still enjoying my food and didn't even get to finish all of it (didn't have the Ryvita Crackerbread as I was full).
She also gave me a top (my favorite color---deep purple) as she said she bought it from M&S as it's supposed to keep your belly in, but it makes her look like she has more of a belly and she asked me to try it on. It was a size 12, so think maybe she thought it wouldn't fit me (as she asked what size I was wearing these days), but it looked really nice on me, so I took it :)
So feel proud of myself that I stuck to my guns last night despite all the tempting food.

Now to focus back on today--having a green day:

Breakfast- 2 conference pears
Lunch- Egg, Baked Beans, Mushrooms, SW Chips
Snack- Shapes yogurt and 2 clementines
Dinner- Chicken Breast Strips (HEB)with Peppers, Peas and Pasta- using Soy Sauce, Hot Sauce, Vinegar (will try SIL's dish, but a SW friendly way)- not sure if there are any syns in the Hot Sauce??
Snack- 2 Alpen Lights (HEB)with Green Lemon Tea, Skinny Cow Ice Cream (4.5 syns)

Water: 1.5 litres
Exercise: Not sure if there will be time for the gym today....

Wow, sounds like you had a great night! The food sounded super duper but yours sounded lovely too! I love Quorn sausages, couscous and things like that! Bet you felt on top of the world exercising that much self-control! Sounds like you're in a really good place about your body which is the best news! Feeling the benefits of exercise is definitely brill for self- esteem, self- respect, self- confidence- all those kinds of 'selfs'!! And I bet you looked hot, and she couldn't fail to compliment you -and I'm glad she did!!

I'm going to a leaving do on friday in town! Going into town after work thurs to find something new to wear!! There will be lots of new stuff in the shops since I last went in! Can you recommend any shops that have fab stuff at the moment? I'm normally a DP, New Look, H&M, Debenhams kind of girl and very open to suggestions!XXX

Meli - your friend sounded almost nice, was she, or do you think she offered you the top thinking it would embarrass you cos it didn't fit

you are so positive about yourself, it is lovely to read, i think you should print that post off and read it if you ever feel down because not only are you hot to trot but you are completely in control!

ps how nice to think hubby wants hot pic of you!
