Snoooooooow!!

The roads in Leeds were like sheets of ice this morning. I was so scared. It was either that or waiting for ages for a bus then having to walk for half an hour to get to work.

It looks nice but I've really had enough now.

Anyone else feel this way?

Snow?? What snow??? Well it's a dusting over the village at the least.

And the Mog Crew tucked up in bed this morning.

Izzy had a hematoma in his ear last year and, despite the vets best efforts at sorting the blood flow it still doesn't sit up straight properly. In the middle is Oscar the blue Somali. Well actually his father is in question as he has slight stripes on he legs. They think his mum was a naughty girl. He loves everyone and is often brought back by delivery drivers and work men as he likes hiding in vans. On the right is the real Foxtrot, a red sorral Somali. He is 100% but never been show standard by any means!! Both Oscar and Foxy's mums are sisters.

'Fraid not. I am LOVING it!

I opt to walk (45 minutes) as its so beautiful....normally not that long a wlak but on go slow cause of the ice. :)

I have learned there is a big difference on snow vs. dry - and I am loving all the extra calories being burned!! :D

My body prefers warmer days, as this does qwreak havoc on my joints - but I am so a snow bunny at heart.

Absolutely LOVING it.

BL - I am so over it all - we have had it really really bad here in the Scottish Borders - snow on the ground since 18th December and massive amounts of it here now! I have uploaded some pics of the snow and my lovely wee Holly playing in it - she is loving it, loving it, loving it! LOL

LOL I am quite used to snow - believe it or not, it snows quite a lot in California. SPent many many weekends and weeks of my life in the SIerras - where the snow is phenomonal. But it is easier there, because you can have chains on your tires, etc. So you are not housebound at all, and traffic is just slow, not treacherous or impossible. I am also fortunate, as I am a short walk from most facilities if I need or want anything.

Where we will be living in California we return, on average has about 2-3 feet of snow for two to three months stretches. We will be snowbound there, as we will be on a mountain side....will def need a big 4x4 and all the kit. If I am retired then, will love it. If I have to make the 30 minute drive to town - might change my mind!! :D

DOn't worry - it will soon be over.

If it makes you feel any better - in Iowa USA they have temps of -49C at the moment which makes our "Arctic Weather" (makes me giggle everytime) seem almost balmy. :)

I too am lucky in that I can walk to the office, and also to the local shops etc, so its not all that bad, apart from the fact that none of the stores have any, bread, milk, veg, fruit LOL. We are pretty used to the snow here as we get it every year, and some of the news reports also make me laugh. I am not used to feeling the cold however, even when its been cold in the past its never really bothered me, till lighter life - I am freezing! Thermals on etc. Its minus 15 just now on our garden thermometer so it nippy to say the least.

We got the now plough here today - yay! only problem being my car has disappeared into a 6ft snow drift, guess what I am doing tomorrow - digging the bugger out lol

Photos uploaded now!

BL - beautiful photos - and that is really proper snow, however as you say its a lot easier when there is the infrastructure in place to deal with it - this country really sucks at it!

wow lovely snow pics

it's minus 16 here at the moment. And my boliler has broken!! Typing wearing gloves. I may go for a drive just to keep warm!!

Rachel - that's not good! Hope that you get it fixed. Its minus 16 outside the office just now - my nostrils froze again on my walk into work!
I suppose we have to laugh - mind you I may not be laughing this afternoon when I attempt to dig my car out of the 4 foot ice/snow drift that has been ploughed up around it. It will be good exercise though lol

boiler isn't going to be fixed till Monday!Have arranged to stay with a friend over the weekend and steal his heat!
This is the only time I have ever though I wish I had that extra bit of insulation!
Currently have on
four pairs of socks and
a woolly hat
Thermal long johns and vest
four hoodies
two pairs of trousers
I may need more socks though...
It looks warmer outside than it is inside at the moment!

Oh Rachel, thats horrible. I sympathise - a few years ago, we had a boiler break down at this time of year too. THrough the wonder of British Gas, nothing was done about it for 3-4 weeks....it was flippen freezing and there wasn't even any snow outside! So I can't imagine what your place must feel like!

bundle up - lots of hot toddies, hot watter botties, hot baths and usurp your friends heating!!!

Good luck with it all - hope they are successful Monday!
