Susie and Orbit's daily dribble

Just in the door - cold, tired and really miserable. I escorted these journos all over SE London, and they seemed like a nice bunch of people - until I overheard one (a woman!) say to another (a man): "Nice woman, shame she's so fat!". She actually said those words - and I'm sure she made sure I could hear her!

I could have just cried on the spot, don't know how I didn't actually. Why are people so horrible?

Anyway, been thinking about it all afternoon, and I suppose if I can take anything positive out of it, it's that I do need to get back to some sort of weight loss woe - and not the one I'm on now which is "Eat everything you can see". Think I might come back to Atkins....

I want to go and get some wine and drown my sorrows, but that's always the solution for times of trouble in my house, so am NOT going to do it. Sigh....:(

Hi gorgeous Susie!! I'm so excited about Kiwi!!! I love flirty stuff!! When are you Skype-ing??? I hate doing that cos its very unflattering to me! Xxx

So lovely meeting Linzi and seeing Jim... Katie was a perfect hostess and her OH made a delicious lunch of BBQ !!

And I now have loads more lovely clothes - courtesy of lovely Katie! Xxx

Hi guys - cross posts - read about my miserable time...

So pleased you all had a lovely day, I knew you would love Linz - I want to hear everything that you ate! :) And look forward to seeing all your new clothes, Di.

Re the skyping, you can do it without video :) Not sure when.

Bless you Susie... And people are just so bloody horrible... I can't believe they said that!!! You must be feeling so awful ... They clearly have never had a problem with food - no idea! Clueless! I hate them all!! Hugs!!! Xxx

((hugs)) sweetie - stupid woman! Well we all know you are fab xxxx and happy to have you on atkins wagon if that suits you xxx

omg susie I would not have been able to stay quiet!! Id have said love youre not exactly shining armour yourself!! The absolute audacity of some people! Im raging for you.

What a shallow *****! You are such an incredible person and loved by us who really know you. I know it's easy to say but you really must ignore it. The issue is hers. How would she cope if she had a child/grandchild who wasn't perfect? You're worth 100 of her and I love you xxx

Vacuous woman. just repeat after me karma-karma-karma. Exactly what Lisa said.

Your a million times the woman she is. Stick that in your wine glass and drink it.:party0036: xx

Oh thank you all so much, you lovely people - you've got me in tears - but happy ones, this time :)

Right, I am getting back on the wagon and every time I feel myself wavering, am gonna picture her!!!! Am not sure whether to just start now or wait until I get back from Provence - thoughts?

Either or Susie, Provence is easy to do Atkins, cheese, salads, meat etc, but still you want to enjoy yourself and not be stressed on holiday. xx

Hi there hope you dont mind me popping in? Draw a line and move on hun, the problem lays with her as obviously the only way she can feel remotely good about herself is to put others down. She probably caught him eyeing you ;).

Thanks guys - and lovely to see you here, Busy, pop in any time :)

Right - am going to do exactly what you say - draw a line under it and use it to motivate me. I'm starting Monday, so have a chicken curry cooked, cupboards and fridge have been cleaned out and a big Tesco shop is about to be arranged.

Don't want this to take away from everyone's happiness at getting together today either - so roll on 4 July! :D

woop woop x. well done, we'll all be here for you your ladyship x

"a shame? Really? How is my body weight a shame for you? Is it making it difficult for you to fit in the room with me, because I'd be delighted for you to wait outside."

Oh Susie, what a sad cow she sounds. I have been abused many times over my weight and it's wrecked my confidence, don't let the same happen to you. Here's a quote from Frances Lockie:

"Even if all fat people are the way they are due to their bad choices, even if every single fat person is unhealthy, that does not justify sub-standard treatment. How can the health of strangers possibly inspire such vitriol? If you remain convinced that others' bodies are your business and people must justify their existence to you, perhaps you should consider the possibility that you are an ars*ehole."

Awww thx Moonlights that's something I need to print out and put on my wall! Never heard of Frances Lockie, going to google now.

Bless you all for being such terrific friends xxxxx

PS - great links via Frances Lockie - I LOVE this article by an Aussie woman, rang a lot of bells - including thre ordering for a group thing LOL

I'm speechless Susie, you are a wonderful woman who has supported so many of us over the last few months, you are very much loved, big hugs x

Awww thx Sandra, that's really sweet of you :)

I'm going to focus on the positive and use it as a metaphoric kick up the bum :)

Right, time for some super strength Valerian tea and Donna Leon - night everyone xxx

Morning all

Sorry if this is TMI first thing but I had a very odd thing happen this morning, woke up to find a big wet patch in the bed, thought "OMG I've wet the bed!" But then realised my clothing was dry - so I can only assume it was Orbit! She was being a right pain last night, after spending all day inside she decided to break out of Alcatraz by any method until I had to shut her in the front room so I could get some sleep - but woke to find the door open...and then the wet patch. Her litter does need changing but she has always been very good about using it or holding on until morning. Guess I'm going to have to change it daily, and hope that helps.

Made a big omelette (with garlic butter, I could feel Di willing me to do it lol) for breakfast but had two mouthfuls and was full. Shame that doesn't happen every morning :) Oh well, can have the rest for lunch. Got to use up lots of veg in the fridge, so think I'll make a big pan of soup.

Enjoy your soggy Sunday :)

Oh dear little monkey! Do you think she was getting her own back on you? Emma's losing control of her bowels and we are having to clear up indoors regularly but she's quite old and I don't think it's behavioural. Have chatted to the family about making the big decision so it's a case of when rather than if.
