Hi, can I ask a question please?
Reading your diary for Thursday's food, you've used half HEbs and mixed them. Is this allowed? I haven't heard of this before.
Aaaargh! I just typed a reply then the system was too slow to post it and it disappeared! Anyway, I would think the official answer is no - I don't go to a class and as you can see my weight loss is fairly slow (mainly because I fall off the wagon most weekends!) so maybe splitting my HEBs is slowing my loss down I don't know. I think there was a debate on here a while ago regarding this question and I can't remember the outcome but I guess whatever works for you really! I can't eat alot of bread all at once I get too full so that's why I only tend to eat one slice at a time then have my Alpen Light as a snack later on. Maybe next week I'll not split my HEBs and see if it makes a difference, trouble is I will have to syn my Alpen Light bar so will be eating more calories by not splitting my HEBs coz I always get hungry too early for lunch! Does anyone else reading this (if anyone does!!) have an opinion or 'the official' answer on this?
 
If it is ok to do it then this would be ideal for me for my HEas. I only use a bit of milk allowance for a couple of cups of tea and then need a laughing cow to go with my scanbran when I've had Fruit & Fibre and at the moment I syn these. I suppose it wouldn't be right to do it all the time but if I kept the HEs along the same lines (fibre to fibre, calcium to calcium) i.e. not 1 slice of nimble and 1/2 oz of cheddar to make a HEb would it be ok?
I think this is one of those questions open to debate (like the crisps), would be interesting to see if anyone with fast loss is doing this with no impact.
 
Yes I agree - does anyone out there split their HEBs or is it just me who does what she likes?! (slap on the wrist for me!!) :break_diet:
 
Hey Hun, You can split your HEBs, just as long as you remember that you have! If you forget and have the full amount again, then obviously you would have to syn it.

I sometimes split mine, especially when its things like rivita, or laughing cow.

UPDATE Friday 14th November - Green Day - WI Day - lost another 1.5lbs so glad I resisted the fish and chips last night when bf got his! Tgt is less than 25 syns for today.

B: 2 x nimble (HEB), 2 x fried eggs, brown sauce (1 syn)

L: Mugshot, 3 x crackerbread (1/2 HEB), cottage cheese, satsuma

Snk: Banana, Alpen Light (3 syns)

D: Rice, chicken (1/2 HEB), Tesco LC Rogan Josh sauce (5.5 syns), sw chips

Snk: Cad Freddo (5.5 syns) and maybe a glass of wine or shot of Bailey's :D

Syns: 15 planned, aiming for less than 25 as usual on a Friday

Drink: NAS squash x 3, decaf coffee x 1, diet cherry coke x 1

Trying to plan ahead although is a bit difficult for tomorrow!

Saturday 15th – Green Day – going out shopping with mum and sister looking at wedding dress shops and xmas shopping so will prob have lunch out, will try to get something healthy ish and going out to an awards do tonight and it is a buffet so gonna have a mugshot before I go and just have a couple of things there to be polite! Will try to choose wisely! But it is post WI day so won’t worry too much!

B: Baked beans on 2 x ww bread toasted (HEB) with cheese (HEA)

L: Lunch out – salmon (1/2 HEB) fishcake (2 syns for oil/breadcrumbs?), spicy wedges (2 syns for oil?), tomato and basil sauce (2 syns for any added oil?)

Snk/early D: Shortbread snowman (8 syns?)

Buffet dinner out – 1 x white bread roll, tuna (1/2 HEB), egg (1 syn mayo), 2 x small pieces veg quiche (2 syns for pastry bottom?), 4 x malibu and diet coke (10 syns)

Estimated at 27 syns!! Target for today was 25 so not too bad considering I've eaten out all day!

Sunday 16th – Mix to Max – back to 10-15 syns

B: 2 x Bacon, 2 x Sausage, Tom K (1 syn), 1 x frylited egg, 1 x ww bread, Flora x light (1/2 syn)
Snk: Tesco coconut mini choc bar (5 syns?)

L: 28g choc chip weetabix (HEB), Milk (HEA)

D: Chicken (1/2 HEB), Noodles, few proper chips (6 syn), gravy (3 syns), Tomatoey sauce (4 syns)

Syns: 15.5! Oops again! MUST MUST try harder at a weekend!

Snk: 2 x mini choc bars (8 syns) :eek: omg I could have eaten the whole pack don't know why today, must try to stay away from the choc tin!!

Serious planning ahead - I've got the next 2 days off work then it's the weekend so have tried to plan what I can it will help me to stick to it more if I know in advance what I'm having! Not promising I'll stick to it but I will try!!

Friday – Green Day – 25 syns – off work so challenge - xmas shopping day!! TOTALLY BLEW IT!

L: oops as suspected, we accidentally fell into Pizza Hut for their fantastic, I mean erm horrific buffet lunch!!:eek: some pasta and 3 slices pizza. Then onto cinema to watch Bond and had some peanut M&Ms!

The whole weekend from this point has been a complete disaster (diet-wise, nothing serious, have actually had a great weekend!). HUUUUUUGE MAJOR BLIP!!!! HUUUUUGE line drawn under it, straight back on it Monday morning.

Thursday 27th November – Red day - was naughty this morning and sneaked a peek at the scales a day early, looks like a maintain again nooooooo I thought I might break my 3.5lbs a month only thing having lost that the first two weeks of the month!! Ah well only myself to blame if I stopped having naughty weekends I guess I'd lose more! Better than last month though.

Monday 1st December - omg it's December!!!! - Green Day - tgt 10 syns- must try and get my ticker moving it's been stuck the last 2 weeks, could do to lose 4 lbs at least before Christmas as I will prob put it back on over the holidays! So need to lose 1 - 1.5lbs a week!!!
