Batchelors pasta n sauce confusion, please help!!

It is confusing. The 100g is for the dry mix as sold in the pack, you would need to work out the points of that and then multiply it up to the amount that is actually in the pack so if there is 175g in the pack: multiply the protien in 100g by 1.75 and use that figure in your calculator...

    Colemans Cheese Sauce

Is that 11 pps for the sauce mix dry or made up. If it is for the dry mix per 100g and the pack is 40g then the whole pack is 4 ppts. Then you would need to add the points of any milk you use to make it up.

    Veg

I love roasted veg, they are lovely with meat/fish, on their own or stirred into pasta/rice or couscous. You can use any veg really, but the ones I love most are onions cut into wedges, courgettes in chunks, aubergines in chunks, peppers and butternut squash. You can also add carrots, parnips...

    rhubarb

I'm not sure of the syns value here, because you are cooking it, but what I do is wash it, chop it and put it in a microwaveable bowl with just a small amount (maybe 1-2 tbsp) of water or alternatively diet lemonade or diet ginger beer. Then I cook it for about 5-10 mins on high unti l it is...

Extra Easy Has anyone done a whole week of Extra Easy??

I just started recently.....moved over from WW as they no longer do the core programme. Extra Easy is similar to core. I tried red days & green days, but have to admit they do my head in.....in constantly thinking of food, what day I'm on, what I can have etc etc. Basically, I'm lazy, I don't...

    What is Scan Bran???

On it's own it's not wonderful to say the least but in the cakes it's fine. The chocolate cake is good and the carrot cake is also nice. Obviously they aren't like "real" cakes, but as they are pretty low on syns they can make a pretty good substitute.

    Meals today

I'm doing extra easy. This is my plan for today so far: 28g porridge oats & 1 scan bran (HEB) cooked with water (I put the scan bran in with the oats) mixed with 1 muller lite vanilla when cooked and then a banana sliced on top. Pasta salad from the current magazine with chicken added...

Confusingly extra light soft cheese is low fat soft cheese. Light soft cheese is medium fat and the normal stuff is full fat.

    Breakfast ideas

I love the swiss bircher. I often have it but use normal porridge oats, a grated apple & yogurt with a few frozen berries on top. The berries have defrosted by the morning. I've also made it using Alpen instead of oats. It makes a tiny bit of Alpen go a longer way. Something I've started...

    HASH BROWNS

To get rid of the liquid, put the grated veg into a clean tea towel and then twist it round to enclose the veg and squeeze really hard. I find it works all the time.

Cheesy Garlic and Bacon Stuffed Chicken

    Syn free muffins

Polenta is sometimes called cornmeal and I have seen a fine one and a more coarse grind. Morrisons have it by the ethnic foods and I've also seen it in Tesco again by the ethnic foods.

Whats changed now the discovery plan has been introduced?

Basically the discovery plan is points just like before but they are trying to encourage you to use your points wisely on proper food rather than eating junk then making do with 0 point soup.

    Morrison's eat smart sausages

On extra easy anything that is free on either red or green is free.....so the sausages are free on extra easy. As I understand it you can do extra easy as long as you want to.

    I'm currently making....

Mmmmmm lovely. I've just made one as well. I have made one previously and put the sausages into it, but I usually make it so it is suitable for both red & green days and then add to it depending what day i'm on.

    OK to eat???

Ahhhh gertie gumdrop a woman after my own heart. I eat all sorts of stuff out of date and I've lived to tell the tale. The mushrooms will be ok as long as they aren't slimy smelly & mouldy.

    quiche

Glad this post was on........I had a quiche in the oven and I think I may have forgotton it if I hadn't read this post lol. I've used both quark and cottage cheese and like both equally.

    vlf cottage cheese

I like the Longley Farm one. Morrisons sells it & maybe another supermarket. The virtually fat free one is still quite dry, not sloppy like some of the ones you get.
