Six months to sexy for Christmas 2012 (27th June - 24th Dec)

5lbs off for me this week please! I did a lot of walking at the zoo this weekend but no way was I expecting that much!

    Weekly weigh in delight!!!

Congratulations that's amazing! I have 6 stone to go so it's good to hear from someone who has lost a similar amount. And in 14 months that's just awesome. You must feel fantastic!
  4. hurleymurley

Whats your new SW food discovery??

I must be the only weirdo who likes the butter one! The BBQ is my favourite though, I made roasted new potatoes with it yesterday and even the OH enjoyed them.

Six months to sexy for Christmas 2012 (27th June - 24th Dec)

2.5 lbs off please. I'm surprised I thought I'd be lucky to get half off this week!

    Unsupportive boyfriend

Twatbadger is the best word ever! He came round yesterday and said he was going to buy me some sausages but didn't have the money on him. He was shocked when I was pleased. They might have been posh sausages from an award winning butcher but god knows what the Syns would have been. They...

Start of My Journey to Better Health

Well done for staying on plan. I had the same with my ex, although we both wanted to move on it was kind of heartbreaking. After that I put on so much weight it's only starting to come off again now. It's fantastic you're not making the same mistake I did! Keep it up xx
  8. hurleymurley

    Unsupportive boyfriend

I did tell him that I needed support from him and he was ok for a while. My mum was diagnosed with diabetes the same day I joined SW and I told him apart from anything I want to cut my risk factors. I started to say how much more I have to lose before I'm low risk and he said 'don't tell me a...

Six months to sexy for Christmas 2012 (27th June - 24th Dec)

But if you hadn't joined you would be even further away from your goal. You know you can do it, just get straight back on plan and think about how much of a good time you had at the wedding, and how much better you'll feel at the next one when you're slim and confident!
  10. hurleymurley

Hope i'm ok to post this here?

That's such amazing news thank you for sharing it with us. I've got a warm fuzzy feeling now. So, so brilliant xx

    Unsupportive boyfriend

I've been with my other half for a year and 8 months and he's never been encouraging with my weight loss attempts. At one point he tried to force me to eat pizza until I burst into tears. Now I'm doing really well and sticking to it, I really think he wants me to stay fat. I have 6 st to go...

Has anyone tried Heinz 5 beans????

Yes! They're really nice, and they're free on EE/Green.
  13. hurleymurley

So how does sw actually work?

I agree. That's why I ended up putting the nine stone I lost five years ago back on, with some more besides. You can lose weight by sticking to plan but I don't think that's enough. We have to change our minds as well as our bodies.

    Smirnoff Lime Vodka

Thanks! If I get on the scales tomorrow and it all goes pear shaped I'll know to look at it again (although I have Syns spare so I should be ok)
  15. hurleymurley

    Smirnoff Lime Vodka

Does anyone know the Syn values of this? I've just been counting as normal vodka but I wondered if anyone had any more information since I can't find anything on the Slimming World website. There's not even anything for other flavoured vodkas like Absolut! Any help gratefully received, though...

Coming back after a long break - trying EE

I think that's why I like SW so much, with the three plans if one doesn't work for you there is always another option. I've lost 3 st in 12 weeks on EE but if I get bored or plateau I plan to switch just to mix things up a bit. I'd probably go for red, being a massive carnivore!
  17. hurleymurley

Six months to sexy for Christmas 2012 (27th June - 24th Dec)

Fantastic! Just goes to show even if you have a relatively small loss one week it's best to look at the bigger picture. Well done!

    hurleymurley's Night Shift Food Diary

I've been keeping a food diary since I started SW on the 1st May 2012, but I've decided to take it public! I've got 6 st 1 lb to lose until target, so hopefully this diary will keep me running at 100% all week every week. I'm just sticking to EE as the moment because I love mixing meat and...
  22. hurleymurley

So how does sw actually work?

I try not to think about this too much, because when I do I start thinking 'this is impossible!' It's put me off SW in the past but this time I decided to trust the plan and go along with whatever they tell me to do. So far so good!
  23. hurleymurley

New starter! 1st Week WI 1lb loss

It's probably because you are quite close to where you want to be already. I started with 9 st to lose and lost 8lb in my first week but the lady I started with had the same first week as you and she is nearly at target now! The thing I noticed is that her weight loss was visible much more...

Six months to sexy for Christmas 2012 (27th June - 24th Dec)

    Attending Class

I'd say join, but 'shop around' to find a consultant you really like. Check out a few different meetings! I wish I'd done this years ago as a decent consultant can make all the difference. I love coming on this site but it's nice to see other slimmers face to face too. I've done SW lots of...

    3 Positives for today...

    1. Got an idea for a photo journal, I'm feeling crafty again! 2. I get to drive a forklift tonight, no being bored in the office for me. 3. Weigh day tomorrow after being 100% for 12 weeks in a row. I don't know how it's happening, but I'm grateful anyway!
  27. hurleymurley

    What have you just eaten??

A whole packet of mackerel (3 Syns) and a big salad. Feeling very full (I keep forgetting that I don't want huge portions anymore, must get that under control!)
  28. hurleymurley

how can I get my stone next week-odds stacked against me!!

Haha hopefully not *just* to get yoghurt!

    Extra Easy Ice cream

I was going to make this next weekend so am interested to see if anyone else has had the same problems. Do you think your freezer might have something to do with it? We have two and one freezes a lot faster and colder than the other. The difference is amazing!
  31. hurleymurley

Can someone help me with Breakfast on EE?

Technically you are supposed to have your 1/3 with every meal but I don't always do it and still lose. But who knows I might lose more if I do it properly! Could you maybe add mushrooms and grilled tomatoes? Or I think you could have some fruit afterwards and that would count (anyone feel free...

    weight gain fear

I've just read your post properly, d'oh! For a weekend away I'd definitely save my Syns during the week. I did this for a wedding and hen night in my first month at SW and had a four and a five pound loss whilst still having a good time!
  34. hurleymurley

    weight gain fear

Personally I'd still count my Syns but give myself extra, maybe 20 or 30 day, that way you're still in control instead of having a mindless blow out. You might have a gain or sts but will probably feel a lot better knowing you are in control and that it will be off in no time, and you won't feel...

Why are there calories in Costa/Starbucks coffees???

I just had another thought, perhaps they overestimate because they don't know exactly how much milk is going in. Just a theory!
  37. hurleymurley

Why are there calories in Costa/Starbucks coffees???

If you have an Americano with no milk then it's free, but as soon as you start adding in milk the Syns go up! I don't have them so I'm not sure, but isn't a latte just milk and coffee? I had an iced Americano the other day and it was free and lovely! Just need a bit more sunshine now please...
  38. hurleymurley

    Hello, I'm new!

The best advice I was given was to read through the book from start to finish when you get home and take everything in, and also to keep a record of what you've eaten to begin with. If you give it 100% I bet you'll be amazed at your first weigh in! Have a great week xx
  39. hurleymurley

    Asda yogurts

It's free. I keep meaning to try it myself!

    Syn free dressing

The Salad Light dressings are free, they do balsamic and caesar flavour.

  43. hurleymurley

First weigh in this week but stressed with high blood pressure :(

Some of what you said sounds just like me, I started with over 9 stone to lose. It seems like such a massive task to lose all that but if you just concentrate on sticking to plan and how good eating all that yummy, healthy food is making you feel, all the rest will follow. I'm amazed at how even...

Hello! Restarting at slimming world. :)

Drinking is what made me start gaining again, although more recently it's been mostly pizza. I did have a great time and am glad I did it early in life but I'd struggle now if I still had that lifestyle!
  46. hurleymurley

Hello! Restarting at slimming world. :)

Hi and welcome back! I decided I'm never leaving group once I'm at target, I've lost and put back on the same stones so many times!

    Syns and Healthy Options

You can have between 5 and 15 Syns a day and the healthy extras vary depending on what plan you follow. I only do extra easy (1 a and 1 b choice) but the details for red and green are all in the book!

    Tuesday Weighers

3 lbs off for me, and 1.5 lbs off for my group buddy. She's always really disappointed with her losses. Any tips on how to cheer her up? I think she's doing great!
  53. hurleymurley

    3 Positives for today...

    1) I got a good sleep today. It's been a long time coming. 2) had a good loss despite * week! 3) I forced myself to do overtime. I hate doing it but I should take advantage while it's there. And while I'm at work I'm less likely to snack!

  55. hurleymurley

    Anyone 20st plus

Hi, I started at 21st9 and would love to buddy up! I'm 19st2 now but still have a lot to lose. And I'm a Tuesday weight too!
  56. hurleymurley

    Raggginnnnnnnnnggg

You never know, getting straight back on track might still mean a loss but I suppose it depends what you've eaten! At least if you don't get what you want at weigh in you know you can get it off the week after. Have you got time to fit some exercise in? xx
  57. hurleymurley

    When will I see a difference? :)

It varies from person to person. I'm in week nine and I've only just noticed the difference. But it's a BIG difference all of a sudden. When I look in the mirror now my face is as I remember it instead of me seeing a fat stranger!
  58. hurleymurley

    What have you just eaten??

A mushroom, leek, garlic and tarragon omelette. Stuffed now!
  59. hurleymurley

Don't you just love it when...

DYJLIW you get a tax rebate which means you can finally go to Longleat after wanting to for years. And it's a good incentive to stay on track!
  60. hurleymurley

Hi! New Slimming World member! :D

Congratulations on an amazing loss so far! Have you done food diaries so you can go back and see what you've done differently or if you've slipped up without realising? Or it might just be your body adjusting to such an awesome first week. Keep at it and see what happens next weigh day xx
  63. hurleymurley

Excited to get back on track after 9 months :)

I can't help you with tips on getting on track after a new born, I'm yet to be a mummy at all! But congratulations and good luck getting back on the wagon! There's a lady at my group who always brings her little one, I think he's about six months old now, and I think she'll need a new book...

    Sw chicken kiev

I made this last week and it was lovely. I think there are two recipes, I believe the one on the website uses fat free natural fromage fraise instead of the quark. I did the quark recipe and it was delicious. I can't imagine how you'd get the mixture in the chicken breast using fromage fraise.
  65. hurleymurley

    Surviving the Weekend

I agree, planning is key! I've tried saving Syns for the weekend some weeks and having the same amount each day on others and have had consistent results. Experiment and see what works for you. I also try to keep myself occupied and fill up the whole weekend because boredom eating is one of my...

    MullerLight Yoghurts are not...

Sweetener is something I want to eliminate from my diet eventually. I'm used to the Muller Light taste but when you taste a 'real' yoghurt again the difference is amazing. Apart from the taste I worry about the effect stuff like aspartame has on our bodies.

Haha, too true! Maybe a tranquilliser dart would be more effective though.
  69. hurleymurley

    Can't sleep!

I think I'll give that a go. Today my brother screeching like a girl woke me up though, I don't think they make a pill to sort that out!

I'll definitely be trying this at the weekend. Sounds amazing!

This is my plan for when I reach my interim target. 1 st 2 lb to go!
  73. hurleymurley

    Can't sleep!

I work nights and usually sleep like a baby during the day whether it's hot, cold or anything in between but this week has been awful! Does anyone have any sleeping strategies they can share? Any advice gratefully received!
  74. hurleymurley

    MullerLight Yoghurts are not...

Is it the Onken yoghurts that are no longer Syn free? I think they use sugar instead of sweetener now, though I could be wrong!

Extra Easy Help!! Need some inspiration!!

I'm living at home with my mum and although now she's been diagnosed with diabetes and eats really well, that wasn't always the case! I make sure I buy my own food, I even have my own fridge freezer so I can fit in all my batches of Syn free chilli and bolognese. That way I'm not tempted to...

    Acts of kindness

  77. hurleymurley

    Puddings Frozen Yoghurt

If you put a Mullerlight in the freezer for just one hour it comes out with a really nice consistency. I didn't believe it would work but it really does! You don't have to worry about stirring it or anything, but leave it in too long and I think you might be in trouble!
  78. hurleymurley

    Hi there. :)

You've taken an amazing step and going to class on your own and taking control of your life shows how brave and confident you are even though sometimes we don't feel like it! Good luck and have an awesome first week! xx
  79. hurleymurley

    Carvery

I think you'll just have to guess for the most part. I'd look up basic Syn values for everything you ate but err on the side of caution. But as long as you are 100% on all the other days I'd bet it won't affect your weight loss. If you said you'd eaten ten roast potatoes or something it'd be...
  80. hurleymurley

    Food Optimising. Does it work?

It works so well I can hardly believe it every time I get on the scales and there's another loss. It seems too good to be true but... It just really does work!
  81. hurleymurley

    Tuesday Weighers

At least you know what you have to do to get your 2st, I think a gain when you've been 100% would be even worse. It's my biggest fear! Here's to sticking to plan this week :-)
  82. hurleymurley

    Tuesday Weighers

It's such an achievement that this is the first week you haven't lost! I bet you'll be comfortably past the 2st this time next week.
  83. hurleymurley

    Tuesday Weighers

4.5 lb off this week. Was 100% as usual but I did think I would slow down this week. Glad I proved myself wrong!
  84. hurleymurley

    19 stone to 18?

I had an unexpected 4.5 lb loss this week, so I'm closer to leaving this group than I thought I would be! 2 lb to go then I'm outta here. Well done to everyone working their way down into the 18's, especially when you've suffered something so awful as the loss of a loved one. Just before my...

slimming world at home-is it possible?

Personally I know I can't do it without going to group... Yet! If I don't go I obsessively weigh and I'm addicted to getting my book filled up with stickers! I think eventually I'd be ok following the plan online, but I'd like to keep up with Syn values so would definitely stay as an online...

Anyone else starting today 1 July 2012.

Extra easy is the first plan that's in the book. You fill 1/3 of your plate with super free foods every meal and have the other 2/3 free food, have an a healthy extra and a b healthy extra, and your usual Syns. I've done SW before but had the best results on Extea Easy!
  91. hurleymurley

reward when i get to target...

I like the idea of non food rewards, I reward myself every single time I have a loss with clothes or jewellery or DVD's. Anything I can think of! When I get to target I'm going to buy a new wardrobe, get an expensive haircut and convince my OH to buy me a DSLR camera. If he wins the lottery...
  92. hurleymurley

Help... I feel so down :0(

I had exactly the same situation! I saw a picture of me at a wedding in June and was horrified. Then I looked at a picture taken at the end of April and was shocked at how different I looked. Sometimes I think we are our own worst critics, you just need to go easy on yourself and recognise how...
  93. hurleymurley

    What are your SW Lifesavers?

I have a French Fancy. They're 5 Syns each I think, maybe 5.5 and they're so sweet I can only manage one but they do the trick if I'm craving sweets and chocolate. I love the SW chips too much to have to worry about a savoury option, though a lot of my Syns do go on an extra bit of cheese now...
  94. hurleymurley

    Dreaded * week

Usually I get a lot of bloating and pain, but since I've been at SW I've had less of these symptoms and (touch wood) haven't had a gain so far. If it wasn't for saving my Syns I reckon I would have had a blow out by now! Another member had her * week on her first weigh in. She was disappointed...
  95. hurleymurley

    Ok so this is me...

You sound the same as me, I'm returning to Slimming World because although the plan is the same my attitude towards it has changed. I want to be the person I feel I am underneath all this fat! It definitely has to be a lifestyle change, not a diet. Good luck on your journey for want of a...

I'm just getting around to watching this now. I think it's going to make me angry!
  97. hurleymurley

Whats your new SW food discovery??

I haven't seen Buttery Fry Light before but that might be because I haven't been looking for it. If I can find it I'll definitely give it a go!

Extra Easy Fill your plate with 1/3 superfree foods..

Extra Easy Fill your plate with 1/3 superfree foods..

You can get these nutrients from other foods. For instance we have a lady in our group who can't stand cheese or milk so she gets her calcium from lots of green leafy vegetables. Our consultant assures us not having your healthy extras will NOT hinder your weight loss, but you must make sure you...

    Starting next week

I think you'll love Slimming World, I tried WW too and found I still ate unhealthily and hated having to point everything. Then I came back to SW and decided to give it 100% It was so worth it!
  101. hurleymurley

    3 Positives for today...

    1. The boyfriend is on his way over and we're having a massive salad full of colourful super free food. 2. I went to a bootsale this morning and bought an exercise bike for £15. 3. I don't have work until tomorrow night!
  102. hurleymurley

Not sure if this is right

I don't always have my 1/3 super free with my meals, but having it in my mind that I should has definitely increased my fruit and veg intake. If I hit a plateau I'll make sure I have my 1/3 without fail!
  103. hurleymurley

    Actifry

My consultant says it works fine with Fry light, i can't afford an Actifry so let us know how you get on if you do get one!
  104. hurleymurley

    Will slimming world work again?

You can have a takeaway but just make sure you count it in your Syns. I don't eat many takeaways so I can't give any advice on a low Syn option! I lost 8 lb in my first week, I'm now in week 9 and I've lost 2 st 2.5 lb. So yes, it absolutely works!
  105. hurleymurley

My nan always put an egg in her mash. It's lovely!

My consultant is an area manager and she's the best I've ever had. The only issue is when she's away covering another group. Bummed Out :(

Hi Eloise, hope you've had a good week! How are you following the plan? Do you go to class or are you an online member? All the info about Syns is either in the book or online. Basically you have between five and fifteen Syns a day (like points I suppose) to use on treats. For instance a...

    Bummed Out :(

I did the same thing with a health food flap jack. That was 10.5 Syns too but I consoled myself with the fact at least there's something healthy in it!

And yet another diet, but going to go for it with Slimming World

Congratulations on your wedding! It's a great time to start Slimming World. I'd definitely recommend trying different groups. I've had other consultants and never stuck it out, the one I have this time is great and told me she wouldn't LET me leave even if I wanted to!
  110. hurleymurley

    Slimming World App?

That's the one you want, if you get the introduction one there's one option for a Syns calculator for members only. The app is very poor, Slimming World are really behind with that sort of thing. I use their online resources but there's a LOT of room for improvement!

a sign that things are changing???

I planned my Syns to drink a bottle of wine today. One glass in and I don't want any more. Yay for things changing!
  112. hurleymurley

    I think I'm overthinking this...

I'm guilty of over thinking a lot of the time, with everything in life not just SW! I think it is best to get away from having sneak peeks because we do fluctuate so much at different times of the day and from day to day. If I weigh in daily I tend to show a big loss after the weekend but then a...

a sign that things are changing???

I was the same with chocolate, I bought five Freddos a few weeks ago, and somehow two are still in the fridge. I do keep my treats in the garage though so I don't see them all the time. Maybe that helps!
  114. hurleymurley

Whats your new SW food discovery??

Thank you! My friend will be really pleased to hear that.
  115. hurleymurley

Whats your new SW food discovery??

This is probably old news to some, but my SW buddy at group (we are both relatively new) told me ready-grated cheese doesn't count as a healthy extra and you have to count it as Syns. Apparently they put something in it to stop it sticking together. I still like the idea of grating my own into...
  116. hurleymurley

a sign that things are changing???

That's brilliant! I've lost my taste for pizza too but didn't want to eat any future in case it made me want to eat a whole 20 inch one like I used to. Reading your post I think I'll be OK!
  117. hurleymurley

    Tips for the week ahead..

I like the sound of some lemony water regardless of the weight loss (though that would be a welcome bonus!) I have a lemon in the fridge and nothing to do with it so I'll give that a go. Thanks!
  118. hurleymurley

Its time to start dieting when.....

Haha, I've done that but the opposite way! I sat in the bath while the water was going down the plug hole, then when I got up the water that had stayed behind me all rushed out. We have a shower room now so I won't be doing that anymore!
  119. hurleymurley

    3 Positives for today...

I really should be doing this! I'm just too scared of starting new jobs! Until I pluck up the courage my three are: 1. I don't have to do anything today. I work nights and usually get up during the day (the middle of the night for me) and taxi the family around. Yesterday it was a mountain of...

Don't you just hate it when....

I gave my brother a lift to the job centre ages ago. It was 9 am and I saw a man hiding his half finished bottle of Budweiser in a newspaper before he went in and saw him carry on drinking it half an hour later.
  121. hurleymurley

    Drinks from pub..

Hmm, I normally have wine I think it's 6 Syns for a small glass. I used to drink Magners but it's something silly like 12 Syns a bottle. I'd maybe go for it if I knew I was only having one! The only other mixer I can think of is slimline tonic. I wouldn't know If pubs usually have it or not...
  122. hurleymurley

Don't you just hate it when....

Yes! Last time I had dealings with them I got a job before the appointment came round. I called to cancel it and they were so rude to me! And WHY can you not make your appointment?????? Um, because I was lucky enough to find a job, no thanks to you lot!
  123. hurleymurley

Why are YOU losing weight? <3

Apart from wanting to feel better about myself anyway my mum was diagnosed with diabetes the day I joined. I want my OH to be proud to have me on his arm, and I want to fit into all the clothes I love that don't go up to my size. Those are just a few reasons!
  124. hurleymurley

What superfree have you eaten today?

Carrots Tomatoes Yellow pepper Lettuce Spinach Red onion Celery Cucumber Satsumas Apples ... Think that's all of it!
  125. hurleymurley

    Tuesday Weighers

2.5 lb off, got my club 10 (I've done Slimming World before but never stayed long enough to get that award, so yippee!) and slimmer of the month. I'm feeling a bit greedy really :)
  126. hurleymurley

    Treat Night / Cheat Night

It says on the SW website that you can save Syns up. I think it's in an article about popular misconceptions. Maybe that consultant should have a read!
  127. hurleymurley

    Whats for tea tonight?

I always wondered about using a coconut Mullerlight in a curry. I have to try it now, thanks!
  128. hurleymurley

    Whats for tea tonight?

Tesco Ready to Eat salt and pepper chicken (free on red and EE) with salad and SW potato wedges if I have time to make them (group in 2 hours then work later, ugh!)

Does anyone else get really nervous

No one is destined to be fat! I know it feels like that sometimes. I think the hardest part of any plan is staying motivated when you have a gain. That's the time when it's most important to stay at group though, even though you might not feel like it. How about giving the consultant a ring? A...
  130. hurleymurley

Does anyone else get really nervous

Oh no! Has your consultant asked you to do a food diary so she can check if you're going wrong somewhere? We all know the plan works, sometimes these things just happen. I bet you get it off next week!
  131. hurleymurley

    19 stone to 18?

Glad to see you go, in the nicest possible way!
  132. hurleymurley

Does anyone else get really nervous

I break out in a sweat every time! I haven't had a gain so far so every weigh in I start to think that this is the week I've put on! Stupid really because I've stuck to plan 100%, but I know I'll feel exactly the same come next weigh day.
  133. hurleymurley

    Treat Night / Cheat Night

No way! I just can't see the point, I'm there to change my whole lifestyle and weight for good, I want to get away from the binge culture entirely. I think the Syns are generous enough that it's not necessary to have extra. But maybe that's just me!
  134. hurleymurley

    1st week back at sw

    Excellent, well done!
  135. hurleymurley

    hello !

Thanks, that does make sense! Although rather than trusting myself I'm going to take your advice and treat myself to a proper fitting at M&S. The last bra I bought was 4 quid from Asda, I think I deserve a bit better than that :)
  136. hurleymurley

    hello !

I've never been for a fitting, i think I should do it this year. I'm sick of Ill-fitting bras.
  137. hurleymurley

    hello !

It will definitely make shopping for bras easier now I come to think of it!
  138. hurleymurley

    Hi, another food optimiser here!

1 glass of wine is pure dedication! And congratulations on losing this week x
  139. hurleymurley

Don't you just hate it when....

Just a saying, my sister has just qualified as a teacher and I know she'd never let her pupils get away with it!

Welcome to Newbies 2013 - Say Hello here!!!

I think it's possible to do it online, but going to group every week is invaluable. The support is amazing. But of course you can get that here too! Good luck with whichever route you choose.
  141. hurleymurley

Don't you just hate it when....

...people don't say please and thank you? What do they teach in schools these days?
  142. hurleymurley

    19 stone to 18?

I've been in the 19's for two weeks now (the first time in a few years!) and although I'm happy to be here I don't think I'll stick around for long!
  143. hurleymurley

    Original Rude

Pleased to hear it slimming lizard! My OH didn't speak to me all today because, as you may have heard in the news, NatWest's computers went down and he's one of the people who didn't get paid this Friday. And that's my fault how?! I would have helped him out with some money but he already had...
  144. hurleymurley

    Hi, another food optimiser here!

Even though I stay within my Syns I still find myself thinking I'm not hungry, there's no way this can possibly be working. I decided to trust in the plan entirely and go off on a rant if I end up gaining. Though in my head, because my consultant is lovely and I could never shout at her!
  145. hurleymurley

Welcome to Newbies 2013 - Say Hello here!!!

Good luck Kayteeee! Sandwiches were my biggest downfall but I haven't touched one for seven weeks now. It kind of happened without me noticing, I was too busy eating jacket potatoes and whatnot for lunch! My consultant said they try and steer people away from the sandwich culture. Looks like it...
  146. hurleymurley

    hello !

I haven't quite gone down a dress size yet, maybe on the top half! I've mostly noticed it in my face and (unfortunately) in the chest area!
  147. hurleymurley

    Hi, another food optimiser here!

It helps that I've got such a lot to lose- about another 7 stone should do it! If I was closer to my goal (and when I am) I'm sure it'll slow down significantly. And I wouldn't say you've only lost 10 1/2 lb, that's amazing too!
  148. hurleymurley

Does anyone else shoot with film?

I got a Praktica Super TL3 last October and although films and processing is expensive the hardware is not! I've loved what I've managed to take so far, and I figure I'll be well set up when I can eventually afford a DSLR. I'll never give up on the analogue entirely though!
  149. hurleymurley

    Original Rude

I think sometimes our other halves can feel threatened when we start to take control of our weight and make a change. Maybe he felt safe before you started losing weight, and now he's afraid you're going to run off with a handsome young man! I lost half a stone last year until my boyfriend made...
  150. hurleymurley

    Unthoughtful people!

My Mr has an utter user in his life too. He calls her silly nuts. I call her much, much worse than that. In fact I haven't even said it out loud to him because it's just too rude, even for someone like me who works in a warehouse full of potty-mouthed men all night. I've never even met this...
  151. hurleymurley

Welcome to Newbies 2013 - Say Hello here!!!

Hello! I joined here in 2009 apparently (I don't remember doing it!) but found myself back here whilst looking for a Slimming World Recipe. I rejoined Slimming World on the 1st of May and started doing Extra Easy for the first time and I have to say I'm absolutely loving it. I've never felt...
  152. hurleymurley

    A Little Help??

Have you got your food diary from when you first started? Maybe going back to eating how you did then will help. I've kept mine for that exact reason!
  153. hurleymurley

    100% SWers - 1 day at a time :)

Honk! Somehow I've been 100% since the 1st of May! Don't know how that happened!
  154. hurleymurley

    hello !

Good luck Daisy, and 7lb is amazing especially with thyroid problems. As long as you've stuck to the plan it will come off eventually, even if it doesn't show straight away! xx
  155. hurleymurley

    Hi, another food optimiser here!

I've been at Slimming World for 7 weeks now and lost two stone. I love chatting to the people in group but wished they had a forum on their website... which brings me here! I've also already found a recipe I want to try. Think I'm going to like it here!
  156. hurleymurley

    Possible gallstones :(

I don't do LL but I've had gall stones and had my gall bladder removed a couple of years back. The pain you describe sounds exactly the same as what I experienced, and I felt the need to vomit too. I would advise going to hospital every time you get an attack. I was about 21 when my problems...
  157. hurleymurley

    blushs first wegh in

There's nothing like being in the next stone down. Well done!
  158. hurleymurley

Have any of you found that excess weight has stopped your periods?

I was a bit skeptical of my doctor when she said my periods stopped because of my weight. She's pretty useless (thankfully don't see her any more) and when I lost a couple of stones and they started again I was shocked to see she was right. Has to be a first time for everything I suppose!
  159. hurleymurley

    Who are you dieting for?

I am dieting for me, and I know this is true because I started at the beginning of last year when there was no male influence involved. However I started a new job in October and there is a certain man there who is definitely helping to motivate me (even if he doesn't know it). If I'm honest...
  160. hurleymurley

    Big Up the Big girls...

My friend said that I looked ill when I was slim (I've only been within the healthy weight range for about one year during my 26 years of being alive) but then I noticed she only started saying things like that when I got slimmer than her. I love my friends to bits but sometimes they really...
  161. hurleymurley

    Bit of a personal question....

I always gain the whole 7lbs about a week before my period, which I'm trying not to let get to me. At my heaviest my periods stop all together, and as I lose weight they get heavier, more painful, and affect me more emotionally. This time I'm determined to get help from the doctors once things...
  162. hurleymurley

    Hi from Ireland.

I agree about the cravings coming and going. For the last week I've wanted a kebab but as I passed the kebab van on the way home from work yesterday I suddenly realised that the smell was making me feel sick. I wish I could feel like that all the time though!
  163. hurleymurley

    And another one!

Hi, I suppose you could say I'm a bit of a yo-yo dieter. I got down to a healthy weight four years ago and stayed there for about a year. At the beginning of last year I faced up to the fact that I had put on nearly 10 and a half stone and had to do something about it. Only seven or so stones...
