January TS buddies

Oh. I just had some of the skinny pasta. After one bite I was retching. The texture was hideous. Obviously there was nothing in my stomach to actually throw up. Does anyone actually like this stuff?

I've decided to stick to the shakes and meals I like and stop sodding experimenting. The problem is I love cooking and resigning myself to such a limited menu makes me sad.

Had a good day today, had a nice chilling morning with the dog while hubby was in bed (he's been on nights) and then this afternoon we took the dog for a lovely 40 minute walk around a local water park, so got nice and muddy. Now showered and in jama's with mega fluffy dressing gown all snug - feels fab to be warm

Have be drank more water today so that's good, just a couple more glasses to drink tonight.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Goingtosortit. I feel EXACTLY the same. Hate weekends on this diet. I could do with a few tips too. I just need to keep busy I think

Keeping busy was my philosophy too.....

Really don't like the Spag Bol, bleurgh.....

Yay well done on a great loss GTSI :)

Only day 6 for my me but things are going well, just hope it shows on weigh day! Weekends are the easiest part for me, it's weekdays I struggle with. My office is like a minefield of food and it's so hard to avoid :( at weekends i'm always busy so temptation just isn't there.

Excellent loss GTSI. You must be really pleased with that.

I find weekends hard too. Usually they mean dinner with the OH and a few drinks and I'm struggling with socialising without food AND alcohol. But lady night I went out for drinks for a friend's birthday and drank mineral water, then when they went to a restaurant I went and meet another friend to see her new house, drank peppermint tea and drove home. So it's getting easier.

Fantastic, well done Going to sort it!

Day 7 for me, which means WI tomorrow. To be honest I have been 100%, but don't "feel" like I have lost weight if that makes sense?

See what the morning brings.

Long dog walk on very hilly terrain, didn't feel like I had enough energy to run today though. However, that will definitely happen tomorrow as I am taking a work colleague for a short run straight after work tomorrow (unless she bails), there are a few in the office that want to join in but this will just be the two of us tomorrow as she needs a bit of confidence.
I used to run a Women only running group so hopefully I can get her confidence up, should be the start of some regular running again too its always easier to get your self out when others are relying on you!

Anyways, the ironing is calling........ Rock n' Roll lifestyle continues!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

We took the dog and grandchildren (age 4 and 2 with 1yr old in the pram) with my daughter and her hubby, wasn't as long as I'd planned but the dog and the kids loved it, rest of the day is going to be spent pottering around and doing some ironing etc. aAm enjoying getting to spend my weekend with hubby as as he works continental shifts he's not always here at weekends.

Up to now diet is still going great, my daughter has started slimming world so it's lovely having each other to encourage. Think I'm going to do a wardrobe sort out and bin a load of bigger clothes that don't fit me anymore, that'll feel good :)

Hi Katie, coincidence my husband works continental shifts too, today is his first off of six. I'm back tomorrow!

Mine does 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off - he's back in on Wednesday....wish I was :D

Coping mechanisms.

Please could anyone/everyone give their 'secret' tips on how you squash those instant, overwhelming urges to eat.

I did this diet at my biggest and shrunk to my smallest, without a break, cheat or slip up. I had no urges or temptation, it was literally a breeze.

I can only seem to stick rigidly to a diet when I'm obese and utterly miserable. At my current weight I am desperate to get back down to target I really really am, but I also know I'm not big... And that seems to allow me to fall off the wagon, make cheat allowances. It's so frustrating. I will be 100% and full of motivation for days, then in literally one minute I snap and chuck a fajita in my gob! Before I know it iv eaten a bucketful of food. Then comes that hate, regret, guilt, frustration and hopelessness feeling.

I try every truck I know when I'm about to cheat, but those urges breakthrough strongest resolve. How can I stay on plan until the end?

I do what I did when I was quitting smoking. I tell myself that I'll have it in a bit. I'll just put it off for ten minutes and another ten and another.

I try and remember that I am doing this because I need to get my BMI down to a healthy range before I can consider having a baby in the next couple of years. I think about what our will feel like not top hate myself when I look in the mirror.

Hi Minnie, what I find helps to keep me focused is not wanting to have to go through the ketosis barrier, again for me that's like having to start from scratch. I drink cups of boiling water to try and curb the hunger too, hope that helps a little bit! :)

Minnie I find it really helpful to just move myself from whatever is tempting me, if I'm in the house I'll do anything such as go have a bath, settle for a read, look at before/after photos on here, stick a face mask on, phone a friend, absolutely anything that means I have to focus on something else. If staying in doesn't work then go for a walk, get in the car and drive off somewhere or go visit a friend.

You've done so so well so far, don't give up at the final hurdle :)

I too cope by finding something else to do, anything really just as long as it takes my mind off food and my body out of the kitchen!!

Today I made up half a dozen mini jellies - mousse mix, drinks mix and water - they are fab and taste just like jelly and they are perfect for that craving to eat something! Zero calories but really make you feel like you've had a snack :)

Morning everyone day 8, or day 1 week 2!

Weighed in and have lost 7lbs, so at least the deprivation has been worth it this week, hope it continues as I have been totally 100%!

Have felt quite chilly the last couple of days, though the temperature has dropped here but I'm sure for me its the diet.

Happy Monday everyone! x
