Lydia's New Year New Me Diary

Hi Lydia - well done on your 2lb loss thats great.
You sound like me with a good book once started hard to tare myself away!
Will have to look up the set your talking about on Amazon - always like to read what others recommend. Eligantrepost recommended The Tea Rose saga - and it was absolutely fabulous got the 2nd one from amazon today - so I know what I'll be doing this weekend inbetween household chores ;o)

OMG I was down on page 5 - can't believe I haven't posted for 1 whole week, sorry guys been really busy and haven't been feeling well this week, swollen and sore glands, feeling really tired, so got lots of rest and sleep this week!

aww poor you! have you been off work? xxx

No I didn't bother having any time off, just cut out the gym for this week and had early nights, seems to be working!

are you feeling better then? nowt worse when you're ill and still have to go to work though, but suppose you dont want any more time off!

how'd you do at WI this week or am i confused and you've not had it yet? x

Been really busy at work so didnt' want any more time off if I could help it, just made sure I took it as easy as I could, I guess its times like this that you realise that actually GF does take a long time to get out of your system, but I recognise the signs now and know when to slow down!

Yes had my weigh in, STS this week, lost 1lb last week, 2lb week before, but it has been confusing with doing Friday morning weigh ins and still going to class on a Monday - but had my last class Monday and stocked up on my WW fruities LOL.

But I do have a confession, for the past 3 weeks ive actually been following Slimming World and really loving it (now I understand fully how it works, I won't lie its confusing to begin with), but I so don't want to leave this site as I feel ive made so many friends so hopefully its still ok for me to hang around! Even if I am banned from talking about SW!!

Whatever suits you Lydia thats all that matters. I'm remaining here (after consultations last week) even though I'm having a bypass soon. It wouldn't be the same without seeing you.

M

We would miss you too much Lydia if you disappeared - you give us so many lovely food ideas.

To be fair, most of us on here have probably done SW at some point - I know I have and it does work if you can control your portion sizes - so you can talk about whatever you like.xx

Thanks huns - yes portion control is the big thing for me and something I will need to keep in check, Ive already decided that I will stick to a certain portion for potatoes, rice and pasta and make sure I weigh it out. Ive got some nice recipes to share, just need to find a way of pointing them for you!!

Morning, everyone. Hope you are all ok, I'm worried today, my grandad had a mini stroke this morning - he has vascular dementia so has micro strokes all the time but this one was a little bigger, am waiting to hear from the doctor and will go to the home to see him as soon as I can today.

Had a good day yesterday foodwise, made a lovely quorn chilli that had baked beans in, it was lovely, will post the recipe. Infact Ive got loads of recipes to post for you all.

aww really sorry to hear about your Grandad, Lydia - really hope he's okay.

how're you enjoying slimming world? which plan are you following?

He's not too good, its definintely a stroke and its affected his left side and he's having trouble swallowing, I'm going back to see him tonight.

I'm doing all green days and loving it, although I'll ruin it tonight as will probably have a takeaway on the way home from Grandads home, as it will be late.

Hi Lydia - good to see you and glad you're feeling a little better. Sorry you've been unwell though.

Sounds like you're having some good results with SW; I think sometimes we need a bit of a change to shake our bodies up. How are you coping with the weeny amounts of cereal you're allowed?

karen - I tend to use 2 or 3 syns and have a bigger bowl, I would rather do that than try to live of 28g of cereal!! Although this morning I had 28g muesli with chopped banana, strawberries and yoghurt and it was yummy!

No change with Grandad, the next 48 hours will be crucial, going back to see him tonight, although Wednesday are my regular mid week visit day.

Lydia, sorry to hear about your grandad. You must be very worried about him

Glad to hear that SW is working for you - sometimes we can just get our heads around different things at different times. x

I am worried, he's my number 1 guy, my dad left when I was about 1 and didn't want anything to do with me until I was 18 so me and mum lived with my grandparents so Grandad is the only father figure I have ever known, he means the world to me.

Very true!!
