Susie and Orbit's daily dribble

i feel for you,i don't do well on little sleep.
hope tonight is better for you.
xx

Evening Susie... Hope you have a good sleep tonight... Xxx

Thx all followed TinaLouise's advice and got some vervain tea to go with chamomile - should do the trick! :) i hope so, was very conscious of the fact that I wasn't very productive at work

Domestic goddess amazement continues - just made spanakopita (greek spinach pie) - apart from the very naughty filo pastry, it's very Atkins friendly - ricotta, 4 eggs, feta, spinach, onions, nutmeg - all mixed together. Wonder if it could be adapted with strips of courgette???

Nothing worse than not sleeping well... I'm so rubbish the next day if I dont sleep!! Hope it sorts you out tonight... I have meditation music playing softly and lavender sprinkled and just bought some hops but will try at the weekend just in case they are too powerful ! Lol

**** FOOD PORN ALERT *****

Here's pics of the spanakopita - it has come out beautifully - and tastes great too! So that's lunch and dinner for the week sorted :D:D:D

Look away now if you love pastry!

Morning Susie

How was the sleeping ? Xx

Morning Susie,
Loving your domestic amzingness photos:D. Hope you got some sleep - so frustrating when body is doing the opposite of what we want!
Lol at discussions of cleaning up - we are always running around cleaning up all the junk before the cleaner comes - reminder to self to be more relaxed about being a slob:D

See you later
Xxxxx

Morning and welcome to Susie's Sleep Diary :)

Can't say I was raring to go this morning, sadly, another disturbed night. Drank my vervain and chamomile, and got off to sleep OK, then woke at 12.30 and was awake until 2, then slept fitfully from there - with a very weird dream about being chased by spy blimps...When my sleep is really disturbed like this it usually means I'm worried about something and it's not riocket science to figure out that it's the big questions over work and home.

And OMG the hassle with public transport - the Olympics nightmare has begun! Everyone's trains and buses were late by 30 mins, and my bus was 40 mins late and HEAVING with rude language students when it did arrive. if I wasn't working, I would be up norff with Bren! :)

I'm sorry to hear that hun. maybe a bath with lavender, rose oils to also help calm and relax. Managing stressors is not easy :(

Keep up the vervain...it's like I big hug (from a ground roots herbal lecturer I had once lol)!

As if you don't have enough stress going on Susie!! Having uncertainty in home and work means you don't have a cosy zone anywhere in your life right now! Definitely keep up the vervain ... I'll send you my meditation music cd if you want to try that as well? Xx

i really hope everything is going to come good for you, last thing you need on top
is no sleep, calms and a relax cd thankfully break it for me.
xx

Thx lovelies - it's times like these I really do fancy a soak in lavender - but sadly don't have a tub, just a shower. But I do have some nice clary sage/lavender shower gel, might try that tonight.

And thanks Di, but I don't have the patience/mindset for meditation. I did try affirmation and chanting type meditation once but got distracted within about 10 seconds :D I do love classical music though, so have lots of soothing stuff to listen to. and there's nothing like a crime novel with bodies and blood to send me off :D

I've also decided to just calm down about the home stuff. The agent told me this morning that the block is to be sold with in situ tenants, which I think means they can't get rid of us straight away if it is sold. The block needs a bit of work, and there's Japanese knotweed in a few places in the garden, which has to be all dug up before it gets an OK survey - so it could be months yet before anything happens. The other option is that he doesn't sell it but might be more receptive to an offer for my place. It's small, yes, but comfy, great for Orbit, transport, getting to work, my doc is 5 mins up the road, great local shops - so will stay put for as long as I can.

And there's nothing I can do about work either. If I was rubbish at my job, then that's one thing - but I know they love what I do, so I will just have to relax and hope that it gets sorted soon.

So, that's me being tough with myself - but you know me, it won't last and I'll get all shaky again! :D
