    Man v Food

I think I read somewhere that he fasts beforehand and runs quite a lot to work off what he's eating. It does tickle me though that over the three series he does get bigger and bigger. I still would though - I think he's lush ;)

It actually didnt hurt that bad, I have my feet done too and it was a breeze compared to that lol. And yeah, standard guy tattoos can be a bit samey, I'm not a fan of tribal or those koi carp fish ones loads of blokes seem to have. On the flip side, I've seen some amazing sleeves and things x

Does Slimming World make you antisocial?

lol, I'm not sat on my own being a loner, I've described that wrong there. I'm not physically apart from them (it's only a small office lol) it's more the not sharing lunch and joining in that makes me feel a bit akward. I'm not too fussed about the actual pizza, I've more of a sweet tooth...

Does Slimming World make you antisocial?

I don't think until I started this diet I realised just how much of a social activity eating can be. At the moment I'm in work and it's 'Payday pizza friday'. My team is gathered around a lovely smelling pizza whilst I am sat at my desk eating a tuna pasta salad (which is lovely but no Dominos...

    loose woman- Clothes sizes

It's VERY irritating. I have clothes that range from an 16-12, and I have no idea what size I am. In any given shop I need to take the size 16,14 & 12 in whatever I'm trying on cos I just have no clue. I dont give a hoot what 'size' I am, but A uniform size chart would be very useful. Whilst...

SW young Slimmer of the Year 2010

That's remarkable! What's annoying me though is the *****y comments underneath saying that at 13 stone and 5'6 she can't possibly be a size 12. Not true! I'm 13 stone 2 lbs and my clothes range from a 16 - 12. I have tops and dresses in a 12. Everybody carries their weight differently...Grrrr...

I always struggle with red days too. For lunchs quiche is always good, with any meat/veg. I also like a bacon and feta salad (cooked bacon, feta as 'A' choice, beetroot and whatever veg you like tossed with some balsamic vingar - lush!) For meals, I do a big stew with lots of veg in the slow...

    "Before I Fall"

I read that last month! I thought it was amazing. My favourite book is 'The lovely bones' and I don't know if you've read 'Before I die' but that's simply amazing too. I seriously got through it in a day, I read it on my breaks from work, took it home and sat on the sofa for about six hours...

I'm 5'6 so maybe the height difference is something to do with it? Currently I'm a 12-14 on top,14 in dresses and 16 on bottom, so roughly the same :) And Kikikisses - My skates cost £40 but you can prob find them cheaper than that if your just using them to get fit as opposed to doing any sport :)

In answer to your question i think most of the two stone is coming from my bingo wings lol. I have been going to the gym, but I'm quite lazy with it to be honest. New and discontinued Healthy Extras

I wonder why they no longer deem something a healthy extra? If you've been eating it and losing weight, why the change? Unless the recipe changes I suppose. I miss the hifi White Chocolate and apricot bars. I'm sure if they still do them, but there's none in my class and they used to be my...

Who never eats on weigh in day?????

Although it's really illogical, I try to only eat 'light' foods on weigh in day, like salad. Some part of my brain has decided if the food I eat doesnt weight much, I can't put that much on...By that logic though I could start eating biscuits cos they dont weight much.....;)

I just wanted to share that I finally got my 6 stone award last night. I got my five stone about four months ago, I kinda got stuck for a little bit but it finally seems to be shifting again! My portion sizes.

I eat massive portions. Always have done since the start and my weight loss is almost 6 stone. As long as your piling your plate high with free food, what does it matter how much you have? I personally need to eat such large portions because I'm full all evening then and don't get tempted to...

    Puddings My Mc Fluffy!

I cant get along with quark. I like to take a 0% greek yogert & add the white chocolate options and some extra sweetner if needed. I normally crush some mini meringues into it and serve with strawberrys for an eton mess. Or some crushed oreos is also lush!

Spicy potato and parsnip topped cottage pie

God that's a mouthful lol Made this last night from a recipe I got from BBC Good food. Very easy, peel and boil potatoes and parsnips. Weight Loss journeys in the SW mag.....

Yeah that annoys me too, the amount of consultants in there....I suppose they're a good advertisment for the groups though. I think it's great they do a magazine and most of the content is fab (although very women orientated - which urks the men in my group) All I want, is a greater...

Weight Loss journeys in the SW mag.....

I didnt say they were a waste of space. And as for the cover, I see what your saying, but I think as a magazine that's for an organisation like Slimming World, it would be nice to see somebody a bit more real on there. Unrealistic yes, but it would be nice. It just always seems to be some...

Jaylou, 3 stone is double what I mentioned. I think it's a significant amount of weight to lose, and yay you! I'm talking more about the people who have lost like 1st something and I cant see hardly difference in the before and after. I want to open that magazine, see amazing transformations...

Weight Loss journeys in the SW mag.....

I might get bashed for this but here goes... Is it just me who gets kind of annoyed when you open up the magazine and see a three page spread about somebody who lost like 1 and a half stone? To me, going from a curvy size 12 to an 8 (whilst a good achievement) doesnt really warrant being in...

Fun exercise - is there such a thing?

I've taken up Roller Derby, which is a full contact womens sport (kinda like rubgy on skates but without the ball) and am learning to skate. So far it's fun. What "fat" comment do you remember most?

Oh god, I've had my fair share of these. The one that I always remember is when I was about 12, and I'd bought a poppy but lost the pin so it was in my pencil case. One of the boys saw it and shouted across the room to me "You can't eat that you know". Cue much laughter from everyone and me...

how has your tastes changed since starting sw?

The biggest change, like a lot of you have just said, is that I can't eat things cooked in fat. I can't stand chip shops anymore, I can't eat things cooked in lard or real oil, like eggs or bacon. I think in Slimming World there's so much focus on cooking things healthily without the use of it...

Do many people eat after the gym??

I've always done this and it doesnt seem to have hindered me :) It's all about whats right for you, but really you should'nt be burning all that energy and not putting anything back in to top up on. So long as you eat the right foods afterward, all should be fine :)
  73. jojothejo

Do many people eat after the gym??

I always eat after the gym. I normally go straight from work so I have my tea when I get in. Besides, working out on a full stomach? No thank you! I've heard (and this may be wrong) that your metabolism is highest after excercise so it's an ideal time to eat anyway x

How did you set your target weight?

I'm aiming for 11 and a half stone as my initial target. If I reach it, it'll be a loss of exactly 8 stone. According to the NHS BMI calculator, I'll still be classed as overweight, but if I reach that weight and I'm happy then it's fine. I don't really trust those things anyway, I got a big...

Ah Rosie I'm sorry. I agree with everyone else in that, to me, you seem to be at a healthy weight. Your body is comfortable and thus without resorting to drastic measures your not going to lose much more - and rightly so. I would never normally advocate such faddy plans, but maybe you could...

Hi all :) Have a taster night in class next week, it was orginally supposed to be a curry night but now the brief is just to "bring something full of flavour" I was going to do KFC style drumsticks, but just wondering if anybody had any other ideas? What do you guys normally bring? x

Not surprising I'm not loosing weight !!!

I don't agree with this way of following the plan. If you find cal counting works for you then great. Part of the appeal for SW (for me at least) is that it doesnt feel like a diet. There's no cal counting, no portion control and no denying yourself if your hungry. Tweaking it in this way, to...

    Loose Skin after Weight Loss?

I've lost five stone now. I've noticed loose skins. My boobs are quite bad, they look not awful, but deflated somwhere. The skin looks puckered and quite stretchy. My bingo wings are awful. When I hold my arm out you see the shape of my arm then loose saggy skin underneath it. My tummy is...
