    Clothing dilemma!

Hi Safia Congratulations on your weight loss. Clothes really can be a nightmare! I found that Yours jeans fitted perfectly from size 20 down to size 14. I then switched to Sainsbury's bootcut, and they fitted perfectly through size 12 and still now I'm in a size 10. Hope this helps.

    Woman of the Year 2012

Well we had our district final today and I htoroughly enjoyed it. Hearing everyone else's experience and journey was so inspiring, listening to why they joined sw and what their reasons were for wanting to lose the weight. There were only 20 of us at the district final so we were split into...

    NSVs - Non Scale Victories

Last week I finally got into size 10 jeans - the only item of clothing I was struggling to fit into, everything else is a comfortable size 10. It was a HUGE surprise therefore to go into Next for a new skirt and find the 10 was far too big and I needed a size 8!!! Completely bizarre but I like it!

Thinking about joining a class, advice please?

I was practically the same weight as you when I started sw last year and it was the best decision I ever made. I always thought I would struggle to stick to the plan and wondered about meals, being hungry and weighing and measuring. There isn't a huge amount of weighing, but it does depend on...

I'm 5 ft 4 and when I started I was 16 st 3 1/2 and a size 18 top and 20 bottom. I'm now 10 st 1 and size 10. The interesting thing is that 15 years ago I was a size 10, but was nearly a stone lighter at 9 st 3. Not sure what this says about clothes sizes!

    NSVs - Non Scale Victories

    RANT-its my own fault really

I did the same when a child at school gave me a box of maltesers. A treat size bag (5 syns) is 10 maltesers, so I've divided the box into food bags each with 10 in. It has worked as I would have binged otherwise.

Extra Easy Why do I keep bloating?

For me parsnips make me bloat and also if I have too many carbs in general. This amounts to 2 potatoes a day or one potato and some pasta. Lots of water helps and then cutting down for the next couple of days helps. I can't have green days at all because of this.

This is a great idea. I have to admit, I'm exactly the same - I've been worried about missing group for a couple of months now. I've found the local one to where I'm going and will go there just for the one week. I'm hoping this will help kepp me on track.

    NSVs - Non Scale Victories

I have another one to share. I looked in the mirror yesterday and noticed the hem on my skirt wasn't level, pulled the t shirt up and realised my size 16 skirt was round my hips instead of on my waist! Then realised I could get it off both over my hips and over my head without undoing...

    NSVs - Non Scale Victories

I had a meeting earlier tonight, the previous one being back in May. Every female there commented on how well and how much better I looked - one even saying I look 10 years younger!! Do I really look like I'm in my 20s still???

    So happy now!!!

Last week I had my first gain of a pound. What a difference a week makes. I've just got back from wi and have lost 3 1/2 lbs this week.:D Very happy and so pleased to be back on track and speeding along again!

    Running!

It's nice to hear of other people who are wanting do build up (very gradually!) their running. I started off running for 1 minute then walking for 2 at a slow speed, and then increased it when I felt ready to. I don't run outside, similarly to jammy biccy85, I feel too self conscious, but I'm...

    august challenge anyone?

I'd like to join this as well. It will hopefully inspire me to be (relatively) good when I'm on holiday for a week in Ausgust! Weigh in for me is on a Tuesday and currently I only do EE days.

    Running!

Thank you Sweet pink and BrightonMark for your support. My long term aim is to run Race for Life next year - the 10k and actually be able to run it.

    Contraception without gain!!

I used cerazette same as blonde8 for about 8 months, gained a stone and my periods ended up lasting for 20 days with a 10 day gap in between. Complete nightmare. I'm now back on the normal type of pill, but struggled with weight gain before starting sw.

    FIZZY DRINKS????

Silly question, but is lilt zero free? It has about 8 calories per can? Thanks

    Running!

I had to share as I'm really pleased with myself. For the last 5 weeks I've been doing interval training on the running machine at the gym - 2 minutes walk, 2 minutes run for 24 minutes. Last night I decided just to see how long I could run for and I ran for 10 minutes!!!! I've never ran for...

    Joining the gym!!!

Hi becca wecca, I think it's an excellent decision to join the gym.. I joined 2 weeks into my diet and it was the best thing for me. I got a proper programme sorted out and was taught how to use the machines and weights. I know it's helped with my weight loss and I've toned up as well. I was...

I had a gain this week

Thank you all for your kind words of support. I know I can do it and I feel back on track, I just worry about slipping more often. I'm one of these people who feels that this is an all or nothing venture and if things start going wrong I'll just give up and convince myself I can't do it...

    ONLY 1LB........

Excellent post - it should be shared with all groups

I had a gain this week

I had my first gain this week - only a pound and I know the reasons why. We had a week off timetable at school and did trips out leaving early and getting back much later than usual so eating properly kind of went out the window as did going to the gym. Also had a meal out where I looked at...

    The weight I've lost

Don't know if this will help anyone, but when I started slimming, I really wanted to feel how much I'd lost. It's all very well saying "I've lost a stone" but I wanted to see and feel this. Therefore I now visit my local supermarket and lift potatoes!! Everytime I lose another 2 1/2kgs...

    EE every day?

EE is working for me - I've not had any red or green days since I started in March. My view is if it works then I don't need to change at the moment

    In between clothes sizes!

Just as a thought - Sainsbury's seems to be good for clothes for me at the moment. Even better, they're quite cheap so don't break the bank balance when they need to be replaced on a frequent basis.

Extra Easy how many syns do you have!

I have 10 each day, then I know I've got a spare few for roast dinner on sunday with a yorkshire pudding and gravey

    In between clothes sizes!

Same for me as well. My size 16 summer skirts fall down to my hips instead of being on my waist and now look a bit silly. However size 14 skirts don't fit comfortably yet, although dresses look fine! My winter coat that didn't fit last year fits perfectly now . . . . but by winter...

    NSVs - Non Scale Victories

I bought a gorgeous size 14 dress at the weekend and a denim jacket I've wanted for ages also in a size 14 ...... and both fit perfectly. :D Much better than elasticated waists and a size 18-20!

    NSVs - Non Scale Victories

My nsv is I suddenly realised last week I can sit comfortably in a meeting with my legs crossed. I can't remember the last time I did this. :D

Anyone else buy clothes that don't fit them??

I don't tend to buy clothes over a size smaller. I buy then when I can't quite get them done up or they don't look right yet. That's because my shape is changing so much and what I like on the hanger may not fit me even when I get to that size properly. For example shift dresses are...

    QUEEN SIZE TO PRINCESS

Well done hoping a fabulous weight loss. I've lost 4lbs this week and got my 3 stone award. Very very pleased and surprised. I've been losing at a steady 2lbs per week for the last 5 weeks so this is definately a surprise. Feel really motivated now! Long may it continue.

Who goes to the gym?? and....

I know the feeling Ellebear, it feels so good afterwards, but I'm so tired doing it. I sweat buckets as well and go very red, but the instructor said intervals was the best way of losing weight so I must do the same thing tomorrow!

    QUEEN SIZE TO PRINCESS

Thank you Spanx and CornishTT for your welcome. I had a lovely clearout of clothes over the weekend, the charity shop pile is definately growing! Also I cleared out the hangers that say size 20 and 18 on the tags at the top. They now say 16 and even a couple of 14s - I love it!!

Who goes to the gym?? and....

I go to the gym twice a week, I start with 5 minutes walking on the treadmill, then interval training - 2 minutes run, 2 minutes walk for another 30 minutes. I then do weights for about 30 minutes and finish with 15 minutes on the cross trainer. I also swim a mile once a week and do a body...
