Lydia's New Year New Me Diary

The website crashed for a while but its back up now, but all the online full marathon places have gone, only half marathon places left now.
 
thanks for the message and texts hun,when is your wi day? We can do this hun,but at christmas i wont be counting the points till after xmas! I am gonna have a little break for a few days then back again on it till new year then have a few days off for new years eve,will you do that 2? xx
 
No problem, my weigh in day is a Monday night. Will do similar to you, will have 3 days off completely where I won't point and won't care what I eat, the other days will try to stick to my points the best I can and as I have a fortnight off work over the festive period will try to exercise every day, if I only gain 1-2lbs I will see that as a good result, STS would be amazing!!
 
My boss rang me last night and is very pleased that I am going back to work on Monday, shes told me not to try and be super woman and I am going to leave work early every night for next week and if I need to have a half day or 2 then thats what I must do, she said its important that I don't have a relapse - very sweet of her.

Really looking forward to going back.

Will go and have a swim tomorrow morning.

That's kind of your boss, make sure you stick to what she says :) You dont want to push yourself too far too soon!

Thanks sweetie, my doctor today gave me the go ahead for the moonwalk as well (good job as i have already applied ha ha), he said that I need to build up my physical strength and fitness levels first before I start the specific training and again suggested I start off with swimming and build up from there.
 
glad you got the go ahead for your walk.. i had no idea what it was so just googled it haha :p hows the swimming going btw?
 
My boss isn't normally that supportive to be honest, she's brilliant at her job and has worked incredibly hard to get where she is but shes very selfish and demanding at times. We've had quite a few rocky patches in our working relationship but after a heart to heart a few months ago things seem to have got a lot better, which is good because I really love my job.

I think also, my doctor said that my glandular fever was brought on by stress and my boss will know this so its in her interests to be supportive.

Still I am really looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, as I said I love my job - even though I have heard that I have a backlog of work!!!

Ive decided that I am going to basically work my contracted hours in future (within reason), I often put in 12 hour days, often work in excess of 45 hours a week and for what - to end up off work for 2 months with glandular fever!!

Theres more to life than work and I need to fine that work/life balance that I clearly didn't have before. Before I used to live to work now I am going to work to live. Having glandular fever and feeling so damn ill and weak for so long made me realise that I am not getting any younger (38) and my body can't put up with what it used to 20 years ago, I need to start taking care of myself a bit more!

Anyway had a lovely day of food today:

B - muesli and yoghurt (4.5)
L - toasted teacake with flora (4.5)
D - Mushroom &Gruyere cheese omlette (5)
Homemade potato salad (2)
Endame beans (1)
S - Milk (1.5)
Quorn scotch egg (2)
 
Got my weigh in tomorrow, I THINK I may have lost some weight, my scales say 1lb which I would be happy with.

Did a little bit of xmas shopping today, have about 5 pressies already and my mum has bought me the WW Body Fat monitor scales (reduced from £60 to £30) as one of my presents, excited about those - hopefully they will be a little more accurate than the ones we have now!!!

Managed a 15 min swim this morning, felt quite tired afterwards but recovered in about 30 mins! Its all good!
 
Blackwidow - managed another 15 mins swim, won't go in the week as I am back at work but will definintely go Saturday morning, if I am not too tired after being back at work will try to do 20 mins but would be happy with 15 - any exercise is good - building up my strength and muscle strength which has taken a huge bashing lately.

Thanks. That's assuming I can get an appointmet - I like my local GPs but not the appointment system. You press redial from 8.30 onwards about 15 times and then discover they have no appointments left! So you ask if you can have an appointment for tomorrow and they say no, you'll have to ring at 8.30 tomorrow morning! I have checked my clock against Greenwich Mean Time so that I can dial the number at 8.30 on the dot!
 
They don't make it easy do they, mines the same!!

Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots (0)
S - milk (1.5)
Ice gems (1.5)
2 scotch eggs (2)

17.5 points out of 21 -- so plenty to play with and hopefully will save a point or 2

like Emma said, better than a gain. I know its still frustrating but hopefully it'll show for you next week :)
