    Hello? ...it's me.

I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to read. To mull over everything. I'm back again, more weight to lose, i'm feeling quite fed up. /Adele I was here a couple of years ago. Lost some, now gained some again, like many of us I suppose! Exante/VLCD works for me, although it is a...

Hi Pierce, I hope I didn't sound peevish! ;) It's great that minimins is back. And just when I need you too, you must have read my mind/my scales! Seriously, thanks for the hard work, and thanks minimins for coming back.

    Welcome Back!

Hello and welcome back! I'm slightly apprehensive, because there seem to be much fewer posters here and a lot of the threads are really old. Is there a way of making it clearer which ones are from before the closure so people aren't posting to ghostly uninhabited threads?

Slinky's exante diet - get back to under 10!

I'm still here! Just busy with school hols. Away on holidays for the next fortnight, so I am going to take a break from the plan, but fully intend to make good food choices and go back on total solution when we get back. Hang on in there everyone!

Slinky's exante diet - get back to under 10!

Blimey, that pasta carbonara is so SALTY. It is demoted to my least favourite of the hot meals. But actually they are all not bad. I'm almost looking forward to getting back into ketosis/on plan properly. I ordered some dresses from *a well known online retailer that features frolicking young...

Slinky's exante diet - get back to under 10!

2lbs down this week, which is not bad considering I took a day and a half off the plan. I was an extra 2lbs down earlier in the week, but it looks like the curry on Friday night added it on again! I'm not too upset. I knew that this was coming and I planned to eat. I am not telling anybody apart...

Slinky's exante diet - get back to under 10!

Had a spag bol tonight and again I was quite impressed with it all things considered. I am currently doing a shake for breakfast, 3/4 of a bar for lunch and a hot meal for dinner, with the other 1/4 of the bar for when I am feeling like a boost. Still feeling whoozy, so I am going to have a...

Slinky's exante diet - get back to under 10!

Note to self: Do not embark on an afternoon baking extravaganza with the kids when on a diet. It is not a wholesome and productive activity if the end result is gorging oneself on cheese scones in the name of "experimental recipe" tasting. Talk about self sabotage!

hello there! I keep on getting "cut off" by a baby who likes clicking the shut-down button on my computer. Fair enough. I suppose. I'm still feeling very weak which is a pity as I thought it might have worn off by now. It could be because I am on my TOTM, but not sure. I have started on Spatone...

I was very pleased with my "weigh in" yesterday morning. 9lbs! This diet really works! I *think* I look a little less puffy around the face too, and i could be imagining it but my boobs may be shrinking. Back fat is stubbornly hanging on there though! :D First thing to pile on when I put on...

Day 7 in the slinky house. Almost made it through one week. Yay! It's fab that I got into ketosis quite quickly and don't feel hungry, but I'm quite worried about the feeling faint thing. It has been going on a couple of days and hasn't subsided. So much so, that I resisted going for a long...

(Contains food references- sorry, most of my posts do! Be warned!!!) This is day six or is it day 5? No I think it is day 6. I'm well confused with all this dizziness. Best way to make pasta carbonara?

Well, I added about 130 m&s of water, left to sit covered for 5mins then nuked for 2.5mins. Result? A bit gloopier that ideal, but actually not bad at all. A tad salty maybe. Overall, quite impressed! Looking forward to trying the others tomorrow. :eating:

Slinky's exante diet - get back to under 10!

REALLY didn't like the apple and cinnamon porridge last night. Good texture but FAR too sweet and cloying. It was a real struggle to eat it. I had it in the evening as I wanted something warm and have run out of meals. (Some more ordered). Had a sneaky weigh in this morning and I'm under 11...

I don't think I can do this. (contains reference to food, sorry.)

I'm feeling very low and sat here on the edge of tears. I don't think I can do this. I'm wondering if instead of dialling something unmentionable I should have something, like a boiled egg and some peas and cucumber. I feel so bloody pathetic. :tear_drop:

    Slinky_Malinky's weight loss diary

Thanks everyone. I feel very low today tbh, and yet again am hovering over the phone, dying to to dial something in. It is always the time of day where I get really really starving, and it seems like nothing has changed, even though it's the end of day 6. I'm beginning to think a VLCD is not for...

    Treats / Incentives?

There's a thought coolchick. My daughter is 7 and loves going horseriding when she's on holidays so I was thinking of checking it out locally anyway so she could do it.

    Treats / Incentives?

Last time I lost a lot three stone I was going to treat myself to an iphone with an inscription on the back to remind me not to put it all back on again. I never got one. Partly because I couldn't think what to have inscribed on the back. Two lessons to learn here: if I had got an iphone, then...

    Treats / Incentives?

I used to horseride (albeit a million years ago as a teenager) and it was really hard work on the bum and thighs! I only do it once every couple of years now, and OH how I feel it the next day. Ouch!

    Slinky_Malinky's weight loss diary

YEAH BABY, YEAH!! :austin powers: I need to get my own diary here as I keep littering the main page with "I feel miserable" posts. End of Day 5 in the Slinky house, and I feel like I am still not in ketosis because I am still starving and am sat up in bed resisting gnawing one of the bed...

Are We Allowed Bars Straight Away

I really want to try the bars, but bought the shakes bumper pack, and I don't want to shell out the minimum £36 on bars that I may or may not like. :(

    Treats / Incentives?

(Getting There) Claire just show him your sig, and your public declaration of love and how can he refuse! :P I love the idea of Pandora beads for each stone loss, it will serve as a reminder and an incentive to keep those pesky lbs off too! But I don't wear jewellery really, so I won't be doing...

Can we have a list of drinks we can have?

I bought some really nice tasting Twinings Rose Tea in the supermarket, but am now worried that it is forbidden because it is a "flower tea". Is rooibos/redbush tea allowed?

    Light Headed

I'm on day 4 and I've been feeling woozy and a bit dopey too. I keep on dropping things and getting the days mixed up. I'm also crabby as hell. Fair does for cooking your family a roast. I've just sent my family out to "get their own bloody dinner!" I think my OH is secretly relieved. I keep...

Help. A little lost. Where to (re)start?

Thanks everyone. I'm now on day 4 of Exante, and finding it tough, but I know once I'm in ketosis I'll find it a lot easier. :) You'll find me in the Exante forum!
  118. Slinky_Malinky

It's been a looooong time since I've been here.. But I reached my goal.

Well done on your loss Millux, and thanks for the inspirational words.

    Vanilla Hot

I made an accidental discovery this morning when making hot vanilla shake with coffee. The vanilla on it's own, but hot is actually lovely. I wonder what the strawberry one is like hot.

    Tempation

My kids treats this week consist of raisins, rice cakes snackajacks and maccaroons, namely stuff that I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. I cooked lamb for the family tonight, on the basis that I never eat it, and I intend to continue in that vein. Everyone in this house is going to be eating...

    Day 3 and I'm struggling...

Day three in the Slinky house. Weeing non stop, freezing, headachey, bored of water, bored of shakes, but mostly, MOSTLY starving. I'm really flagging. I'm so glad my OH is here, because it is almost only pride stopping me from dialling something unmentionable on this forum. I KNOW I need to...

I've made it through my first day!

So far so good Bobby. Between now and about 10.30 is a danger period for me though. I'm feeling really ratty right now, can't wait for the kids to go to bed LOL!

    day 1!

I found it hard to sleep the last time I did a VLCD, and ended up reading lots into the small hours. I had no trouble last night though, my first night on VLCD in a couple of years, and slept like a baby. Hope it lasts!

    The Chatty Girls Thread!

It's a good motivation for weightloss, weddings, whether you are the bride or not. I hated that feeling that when people haven't seen you for ages and you feel like a sack of potatoes. And that horrible quandary of WHAT to wear! I've been a bridesmaid a couple of times too. Once when I was a...

    Passing the time?

Eh? If you want some more to do I'll give you my address. My house is a complete mess and I don't know where to start. I managed to clear out some cupboards earlier when I would usually be preparing an enormous lunch for myself, so perhaps my house will be spick and span in a few weeks... :D

    Milk in Tea/Coffee

Yay, I won't feel so bad about it then. I have just had my third shake of the day, a vanilla, and it would work perfectly in coffee. It's much less sweet and sickly than the lighter life version, which is good. Still wouldn't go with tea though. I have had a couple of Redbush teas without milk...

    Ketosis

Aw Kev, I feel your pain. I'm only at the end of day one and my head is killing me. I've been really ratty with the kids this evening too. :( Hopefully it won't take long for you now, some people on here are in ketosis by day 3. I think I went pretty fast the last time I did this, but I didn't...

...isn't it? I'm not complaining actually, I don't like my chocolate overly sweet, but just wondering. Is it splenda we can have or which sweetener?

    Milk in Tea/Coffee

I know what you mean Sleepy. I have been trying to get off coffee for the last few months, it was making me jittery and a bit nauseous, particularly in the morning. So I haven't reordered any Nespresso capsules! Coffee with vanilla milkshake would work, but I can't see it working with tea...

Roll call for all who are starting 01/11

Thanks K8te, I hope to lose 3 stone, but a nice round number of 40lbs would be just fab. I've just measured my waist and am slightly shocked. Presumably we are supposed to measure it in all its wobbly glory and not cinched in like the waist of our jeans? Mine is beyond muffin top and falls short...

    Milk in Tea/Coffee

This was one of my major gripes about doing a VLCD last time. I am addicted to my cuppa and will happily down six cups a day, sometimes more. However, they just have to have a mere dash of skimmed milk in. Tea without milk just tastes peculiar to me, and despite trying to get used to it, I never...

    Swiss Bouillon

In Lighter Life, which is a similar VLCD food replacement diet, we had little soup drink sachets that were allowed as drinks. Apparently they were the same as the Swiss Bouillon that you can buy in supermarkets and which was much cheaper. Presumably as the same principal applies, you can have...

I started this morning (5th), so I'm a fraud posting here, but it seems a nice friendly place to start, and I intend to catch up with you lot! Help! I don't know where to (re)start!

Hi everyone, I accidentally double posted because I had this on the vlcd section too. I think I might give Exante a try. As I said over in VLCD (that sounds like a disease doesn't it?!) Help. A little lost. Where to (re)start?

Thanks peeps. I think I might give Exante a go actually, they seem very reasonable. And I won't have to get all touchy feely with my old Lighter Life counsellor! What they say is true though. It is MUCH harder to do it a second/third/fourth/nth time. Just even to get started, to get the head in...

Help. A little lost. Where to (re)start?

I should have put this post in here rather than in introductions really. Here it goes: Hello again. I lost 3 stone a couple of years ago on Lighter Life. I was delighted, but since then I went through a difficult patch and have basically piled it all back on. I realise that a very low...
