Step 1 Sole Source How do you renew your motivation/will power?

I think there's always a time when weight loss slows down and it's really hard to stay motivated if you're eating so few calories. I had a slow period but the weight loss then speeded up after a month. Why don't you try a week on SS+ or step 2? A step up sometimes boosts weight loss and will...

Is anyone starting Cambridge January 2014? Lets support each other!

Jo1989 - Sorry to butt in but I saw the reference to a "binge day". I was one pound off goal and had a binge day on 19th September 2012 - I carried on having binge days until 9th February 2014 - oops! If you have some self-control then maybe it will work but if you are like me then you could...

    This Forum

Hi Mia - I was in a similar situation - lost weight and put it back again plus an extra stone. I was very down about it but the good thing about Cambridge is that the weight comes off quickly so you will be looking and feeling dramatically different in a few weeks. I know you feel awful but...

    SKIN ISSUES!!!!

I lost 6 stones on cambridge in 2012. I used a cross trainer about 4x a week with weights on my wrists and ankles - only about 30 minutes a time. I ended up with a little loose skin on my tummy but wasn't too bad. Also a bit of wrinkle at the top of my thighs but looked much better than they...

    Cambridge Haters

This is my second time around on Cambridge. The first time I told everyone and whilst most were supportive a number just said it is rubbish and everyone puts the weight back on again. I am just keeping quiet this time although it can be difficult on social occasions. I have tried just about...

Woman loses 172 lbs, told to cover up in magazine article

It's sad but not surprising - magazines don't want to see real women. I am sure that someone who is carrying an extra 172lbs would be inspired by her story and would be happy to look like Brooke.

    My final attempt...

I am thinking about getting back on to my cross trainer now. I waited for two months before exercising the last time but I do think it makes me feel happier so I may drag myself on to it a bit earlier. I haven't anything as exciting as a tv show or a trip to NY or a wedding to look forward to...

    Step 1 Sole Source Help...please

I was in the same cycle last year but have managed 20 days so far. Not really sure what changed but once you are in ketosis everything is easy. You will be fine - we can all do it.

Not promising to do it this time, but I promise to try :)

Hi Chrissy - well done for getting back on it - must be nice to get the first month over. I've also lost and put it back on. The forum really helped in 2012 so I'm back here looking for inspiration! I'm on day 20 so you're a bit ahead and sound like you are doing really well. Let's lose it...

Step 1 Sole Source Jays Diary - A honest review from a guy

Jay Cambridge is a great diet - you just need to get into ketosis and you'll be fine. The weight will be dropping off you soon - men seem to lose weight so much quicker than women. It all happens really quickly - you buy a pair of jeans a size smaller and in a couple of weeks they are too big...

I Lou, I am in a similar position - lost 6 stones and put it on again. Tried to get back onto the diet every week last year and failed each time but am now finally back in ketosis. I am trying not to dwell on my last miserable failure and am looking forward to get back into the size 12s I...

    My final attempt...

Hi - I am also here for a second time - so was relieved to hear I'm not alone. Am now on day 19 so well into ketosis. Felt awful on days 2 and 3 - I feel for you! I guess we'll just have to learn from past mistakes.

Tizzy - how's it going? You are not keeping up your diary but as you are still posting I assume that you have not fallen off the wagon. unfortunately I did - struggled over the weekend and did something more like step 5. On Tuesday I lost control and had a major binge including biscuits...

Thanks for posting Poppy - I was beginning to think I was alone here. Sadly I fell off the wagon on Tuesday - major binge - have struggled all week. I spoke to CDC tonight and she suggested keeping cottage cheese close by so that if I feel weak I don't overload on carbs. I think that the...

Low self-esteem Fatty to slim Confident women ( i hope)

I'm really struggling with hunger - I had about 1500 cals on Saturday. I think for me 1000 cals without ketosis and with exercise is too low. I was going to stick to step 2 or 3 for a while but I think I will go up to step 4 until I get where I feel comfortable. 8 days - it's gone really...

Little Book Worm tetra-ing her way through CD

Hi Bookworm - I loved looking at everyone's weight losses when I started. It's funny how quickly you move from cd newbie to cd veteran - seems like yesterday when I started SS and my goal weight seemed like a silly fantasy but here I am with 2lbs to go. You will shortly be in the same...

It's the final countdown! Losing it - Phase 2!

I think the problem with step 3 is the big increase in carbs from step 2. I'm not in ketosis but the calorie intake is relatively low so I'm hungry and craving more carbs. Haven't managed to stick to 1000 cals for 2 days but still under 1500 (and quite a bit of exercise) so I'm hoping it won't...

Hi - it's good you started a diary - men are a little scarce on here! Mind they do lose weight so quickly that they don't have to hang around very long. I wish I had done this when I was 23 - I've wasted a lot of my life due to my weight. You'll be at goal in no time - the best of luck..

Give this a read Guys, let's show Tess some support xxx

My CDC wanted to put me forward for a cambridge media campaign - after reading so many nasty comments re Tess I would not want to put myself through it! God people are so petty and and at times poisonous - I think she looks fantastic and has beautiful kids (pretty hunky OH too!).
  26. Daisy65

    Step2 810kcal Day 3 of step 2 ; Struggling !!

I'm actually on step 3 well sort of - CDC thinks that there is such a huge carb difference between step 2 and 3 that it's better to do an intermediate step which is 810 plus 150 cals of fruit. I'm so hungry that I think in a couple of days I will do step 3 properly and hopefully fill up the...

Wow Christy - well done - you're averaging at 5lbs a week if my Maths is correct. Are you going to buy new clothes along the way? I was quite lucky losing weight when I did as my old clothes saw me through the winter and summer gear is usually cheaper. Didn't have to worry about a winter coat.

Hi Tizzy - found you! I have to say that I am surprised you only put on 7.5lbs - most people would have put on twice that much after such a long time off plan. You must have shown quite a bit of control. I've been convinced that I would put on that much eating carbs on step 3 but you have...

    LeaE's Jelly Wobble

Hi Lea - just had a punishing session with Chris upstairs! I had my bra fitting with Bravissimo and it was great - they don't measure - just guess and then try on bras to narrow it down. All the makes are slightly different - I ended up with a 36F and 38E and they fit perfectly. Best I've...

    2nd time round, support needed

Well done for getting back on it. I just saw the first few days as a test of my will - love a challenge! Also I kept as busy as I could. You know it's the worst bit and that things will get easier. You will lose weight so quickly that it is worth toughing it out. Good luck and stop just...

How do you pick yourself up after falling?

I think that the longer you do the diet the easier it becomes. I am obsessed with the diet and weight loss and everything else can go to hell! Probably not a very healthy attitude but it works for me - meanwhile my business in on the rocks but hey ho!

Hi Yolande - was hoping you hadn't disappeared for good! You never know on the forum. I have been taking two psyllium husk tablets a day - they are not really laxatives just add fibre - that is enough to keep my digestive system working. I think that unless you introduce carbs gradually you can put on 4-8lbs but this weight is not fat but glycogen and water. If you are likely...
