I think it's really important to add exercise in, especially when you've lost a large amount of weight. I've recently seen the scales slow down enormously so I've begun to focus more on strength training and toning. I've had more comments on how I look different from a month ago than I ever did...

The lowest fat content I've seen is Tesco value. I think that's about 0.1%. The value range ones often seem lower fat than the 'diet' ones so get the lowest you can find.

Attempting the diary thing again (not strictly dukan)

Am I weird for finding PP days easier - mentally that is. Obviously PV is easier if I'm out and about or have a social event but if I'm just in the office or at home I find PP a doddle. Maybe it's the strictness that makes me go into auto pilot. Food is merely an energy source and nothing more.

Cruise: which pattern of PP/PV do you use???

I generally do 1/1 although I change that around if I have social functions but I keep a tally and make sure it equals out in the end. I quite often end up having PV on saturday and sunday as it's easiest to fit in with my social life. I then do PP Monday and Tuesday.

    Gaining throughout the day

I think when and how often you weigh comes down to personal choice - for some weighing daily keeps them on the straight and narrow but for others seeing a stall or gain demotivates and so weekly weighing is better. The most important thing is to weigh at the same time and in the same conditions...

    Cruise PP new dukan flavours

I LOVE the caramel and nougat flavourings in my muffins/quark icing. I also bought honey as it was on offer but it tastes so synthetic I find it unpalatable. I tried it sweet in desserts and savoury as a 'honey/mustard' marinade but just couldn't get on with it.

How many cups of Coffee or Tea ?

On a weekday probably around 6 - I'm in a large open plan office so there's always someone offering a tea round. That's usually a mixture of a small skinny latte first thing then rooibos with a splash of milk or fruit/herbal tea. On the weekend it's probably only 1 or 2.

They contain sugar so it's best to buy fat free yoghurt and sweeten/flavour yourself - or even better make your own as a few of us do here! I actually find muller lights far too sweet now on the occasions when I've been forced to grab one on the go.

    Attack weighing myself daily....

I weighed myself daily during attack and then switched to weekly. I think it's quite a personal choice. Your weight will fluctuate during the week so if seeing a gain after a PV day is going to demoralise you and lead to a cheat then don't weigh daily, weigh once a week after a PP day.
  97. V

Oatbran - How do you eat yours??

Muffins are definitely my favourite. Lots of different ways to flavour them - savoury or sweet. I like that I can spread them out through the day too, a couple at breakfast with some yoghurt to get me going and then the others as snacks throughout the day. They're a lifesaver when travelling...

  126. V

what rythem do you do for cruise???

I vary mine on a weekly basis to suit my diary (dinners out with friends, work trips). I generally end up with 2 PP days on a Mon/Tues or Thurs/Fri as I inevitably need PV days on the weekend. I keep a record of it in my weightloss spreadsheet and make sure it's pretty much equal PP/PV.
  127. V

    On the Dukan journey

That's fantastic. This plan really does work - I've found whenever I've had a week without much of a loss it's followed by a whoosh of weightloss. Seeing the scales go down really is the best motivation, isn't it?
  128. V

Squash or courgette as pasta alternative?????

I've frozen butternut mash before and it defrosts fine. I'm not sure about the courgette - I wonder if the high water content might make it go quite mushy when defrosted.

Attack 2 1/2 stone by March

Have you visited the website and calculated your true weight and the length of time you should do attack? Very few people are recommended to do it for longer than 5/6 days at the most. It's likely to cause you 'transit' issues and severely dent your motivation.
  134. V

    Attack Stock Cubes

I use them sparingly (1/3 or 1/2 where possible) and buy the reduced salt ones.
  135. V

    Ideas for the slow cooker

I've been using mine to cook my roast chicken. I skin it first (which removes the temptation to eat it later) and cook with a little water in the bottom. It doesn't look pretty but the meat is so tender it falls off the bone.
  136. V

◄ Chocolate Orange Duffins (Muffins) ►

No, these are not suitable for Attack. Cocoa powder is a tolerated item and can only be had from cruise onwards. For Cruise this recipe will use 3 days worth of your oatbran allowance too.

Cruise PV HELLO EVERYONE Georgie's Diary.

Cocoa powder is a tolerated so not suitable for attack and not to be relied on in Cruise. Sugar free jelly and some sweetened total 0% yoghurt is probably your safest option. Hopefully the sweet tooth will ease when you're into Cruise.

    Attack Attack stage started yesterday.

I'd second Willbefabulous in saying that 10 days is far too long on attack. Your weight loss is unlikely to benefit and your digestive system won't thank you - your body needs vegetables. Very few people are recommended more than 5 or 6 days. Go on the website and check how long he recommends...

I think it's pretty insane to start this before Christmas. I'm 3 months in and I know it's going to be tough to resist all those temptations at times. I can't imagine trying to form all those good habits and break the bad ones right now.

    Cruise PV Determination

My family and my friends are astounded when I say I'm going to stick to it right through Christmas. "What? You're not even going to give yourself a day off on Christmas Day?" No, I'm not - I think you can make the day more than enjoyable and still eat the Dukan way. The big issue for me will...

Tinned mackerel in tomato sauce - allowed on cruise?

  177. V

Tinned mackerel in tomato sauce - allowed on cruise?

Hi Alexandra, great to read your diary. How much of the extra light philly are you having? I think it's 30g as a tolerated so might be one to watch if you start stalling again. Also I'm pretty sure diet sprite is more than 1 cal per 250ml so another one to watch how much/often you're having it.

I have been. The only thing he says in the book to remove the skin from as it's too fatty is poultry.
  198. V

    New to this plan!!!

The amount sounds absolutely fine. It sounds strange but the more protein you eat the better your weightloss is likely to be. Be careful with the crabsticks as they do contain sugar so should be limited. After eating 8 a day to begin with I now only have them for emergency snacks.

    Lasagne help
