    Impromptu trip to Australia! Help!

Thanks so much everyone! We're going to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth... Phew!! Spoke to my CDC and she said to follow a low carb low fat, high protein diet while I'm there and straight back on SS for a week then back up the plans again. So something like poached eggs for brekkie, fish and salad...

    Impromptu trip to Australia! Help!

Just got a new job, starting on the 1st of June so my husband and I decided to squeeze in one last holiday before its all work work work. What do I do?? I heard somewhere that we're not allowed to take packs into Australia? Is this true? I'm really panicking at this as I have no idea what to eat...

Maintenance question (pics added for LellyCD!)

Hiya Lelly! I haven't quite started maintenance yet as I ate everything on our 2 week honeymoon and gained 4lbs. On the day we got back to London I went straight to my CDC and got packs for SS and I lost 6lbs in that week and I wanted to do another week of SS (which ends today) to make sure I've...

Mix A Mousse - Am I doing it wrong??

I had issues with my mousse at first as well. But now I think I've got it right, what I do is mix the mousse with your shake in the bowl you're mixing it in, add 1/2 a cup (measuring cup) of ice cold water and blend with a hand blender for about 5 mins. I lift my blender up and down to make it...

Maintenance question (pics added for LellyCD!)

Awww thanks for the advice KD, knew I could count on you to make me see sense. It is hard for me going through the steps but I'll try my best. I think its just the palaver of weighing and measuring and worrying that I'm eating too much or using the wrong condiments etc that makes me anxious...

    Question about Ketosis

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate your advice. I'm so glad to hear that it won't take as long as 3/4 days to get back into ketosis. I've been 100% the whole time on CD except during my honeymoon and last night (humpf!) and strangely enough I didn't feel any hunger or discomfort going back to SS. I...

Maintenance question (pics added for LellyCD!)

I know this is probably controversial but I found going up the plans reeeeeeally hard! I was wondering if I go from SS (slightly under goal) to having 2 CD meals and a normal dinner will I gain lots of weight? The reason I want to go under goal is so I leave some room for possible gains but I...

    Question about Ketosis

I asked this on the main CD forum but thought I'd ask the 100%ers as well. Hi peeps! I was wondering, I know it takes about 3 days to get into Ketosis when you start CD but does it take the same time if you've had a week of SS and then eat a carby meal and then get back on SS? Does it take as...

What 1 thing did you enjoy about CD yesterday?

What I enjoyed last night about CD, and what I ALWAYS enjoy is my CDC. She's absolutely lovely, a real gem. She was jumping with excitement at my weight which was so touching and encouraging. Though I spoilt things that night by eating lasagne for dinner (oops) but still at goal weight so will...

OMG Lost 2st in 7 weeks!!

I know, I was also surprised at how quickly the weight came off as I had only 2st to lose. When my CDC told me the average was 1st a month I was sure mine would be slower as I have less to lose but CD does work no matter your size! It was well worth the effort and it has totally forced me to...

    Another SS+ question

With SS+ you can have either 4 packs and 200ml skim milk or 3 packs and a 200kcal meal from the green and white list. Can one have say 4 packs and milk one day and 3 packs and a meal te next? Or can you do only one sort for the duration of the SS+ or a week at a time or what? Thanks!

  43. Slimbride2009

    Is it worth it

yes its probably the water flavouring, that's why we're not allowed to have any until week 3 when we're in ketosis It contains enough carbs to keep you from reaching ketosis but not enough to kick you out of it. So when you're firmly in ketosis (3 weeks on SS) then you can incorporate the...

I have a question though, what if you're under 5'8" and you have 4 packs a day? Would it hinder weight loss?
  51. Slimbride2009

    3 or 4 packs?

I agree with everyone else that you should have 4 packs a day to meet your minimum nutritional requirements. I'm 5' 7" and I have 3 packs most days but on hungry days I have 4, as suggested by my CDC. In all the books they say anyone 5'8" and above should be having 4 packs a day. For your height...

Worried about gaining weight on holiday

Great advise KD, I agree with combining your shakes with low carb meals, sounds like a good compromise. My only fear is that a lot of these grilles meats come with all sorts of sauces and one can't know whether there's flour or wine or any other form of carb in it!
  54. Slimbride2009

What time do you have you packs?

I don't think the time you eat the meals matters. Not eating after 7pm only applies when you have a full meal that needs digesting but a shake is hardly anything and contains no carbs that get stored as fat (as would be the case if you had, had a standard carby meal) so don't worry! I had a less...

How much do you gain (or loose) as you go up the plans?

Thank you so much Bijoux and KD, I appreciate your expert advice. Anyone tried a savory mousse? lol... I know its a long shot but I've been thinking of making the spicy tomato soup into a mousse ala gazpacho?
  68. Slimbride2009

    OMG Loving the mousses!!!

That's exactly what they were like when I started making them. I think the secret is adding just enough water, not too much not too little, I think about a cup. Make sure the water is ice cold and blitz with a hand blender. I think blending it makes it a lot smoother and lighter, more "moussey" lol.
  69. Slimbride2009

    OMG Loving the mousses!!!

    OMG Loving the mousses!!!

When I first tried the mousse I hated it because I used too little water and it tasted like silicone, and the second time I used too much water and it looked and tasted like diluted baby food. Well last night for "dinner" I got it just right and it was absolutely delicious! Took my time...

    Soya Beans / edamame

On SS you can't eat anything at all except your packs. I would wager a guess that you can't have edamame on SS+ either because its quite high in fibre (though high in protein as well, for a vegetable/legume).... Not sure about the other steps up the plan though, but to be on the safe side, I'd...

If I had say 1 CD bar, 1 mousse mix and the daily requirement of the water flavour all in one day, will it slow down weight loss? I did this without thinking today and now am a bit worried.... Hiya and welcome! I could be wrong but could it be that you're prompting these comments by drawing attention to your size? Not sure about the mechanics but something sure does come out lol. Not as often and not as much as before but still something. OMG my fave IS the porridge! LOL!! Just shows tha its all about individual taste. I like just about all of them except the chocolate orange, thoguh I don't like any of the soups (except vegetable and spicy tomato)

Slightly worried about number of packs I'm having

Thanks so much everyone!! I've had three packs a day for the past 2 days and I feel great, no hunger and just as energised and light on my feet as before. So I'll stick to three a day and if I feel really hungry on a particular day I'll have the 4th shake or bar. Thanks again peeps...
  104. Slimbride2009

Do you like your shakes hot or cold?

For me it depends on the flavour of the shake. For porridge and chocolate I prefer hot and for the fruity ones like strawberry, fruit of the forest and others like vanilla, butterscotch etc, I prefer cold. Tetra packs I always have at room temp because I only have them when I'm out and about.

O.K. I just have 2 more questions to ask

About weight gain on your period, it really depens if you're prone to water retention or not. I don't gain anything on my period but my cousin can gain up to half a stone and 3 inches round her waist!! Only for a couple of days but still a pretty big difference. She always says she feels like a...

Telling friends and familiy your on a diet is soooooo hard

Hiya hun, I totally understand how you feel. I don't advertise my attempts at dieting because I can't stand being quizzed about whatever diet I'm on and having my food examined. Really hate that! I remember when I was on SW and living at home, we had an aunty staying with us and EVERY SINGLE...

Slightly worried about number of packs I'm having

Hmmm.... I'm feeling I should stick with the four a day. I don't feel like its too much at all lol. I'll tr three packs for a few days and see how I go. For those under 5'8" and regularly having four packs a day, did your CDC say it was okay or are you doing what works for you?

Isn't this diet so much easier than the rest?

LOL, I would love to do one of those cooking shows! I used to own my own catering company so cooking is my thing. I think that's why my fiance is marrying me! Men are simple, food, sex and peace of mind is all they want lol. My fiance is 6 foot 4 and built like a swimmer with not an ounce of fat...

Isn't this diet so much easier than the rest?

I would say its relatively easy to follow because the rules are simple. Its a dream diet for those who live alone. I live with my fiance and sometimes its a real battle of wills not to have a little taste of what I cook for him Ironically I've been cooking him the most gorgeous, over the top...

Slightly worried about number of packs I'm having

Hi ladies, when I first signed on with my CDC she told me anyone 5'7" and over can have four packs a day instead of three. But then I read on the CD website that only those 5'8" and over can have four packs a day. So I measured my height to make sure, only to discover that I'm just under 5'7"...

Could water flavourings slow your loss down?

Hiya my CDC told me not to start on the flavourings until week 3 and to only have a level teaspoon a day, mixed into a large 1.5 litre bottle. If you're mixing the flavouring in every glass of water you drink then you might be having too much. As far as I understand it should only subty flavour...

    Just tried the cambridge "muffin"

Oh no, it did't rise lol. It was more like a really thick American pancake. Depends on the container you cook it in and it just takes the shape. I used a Ramekin dish so it came out looking like a scone/extra thick scotch pancake but exactly the same level as it was before cooking.

How much can a 27st female lose in 7weeks ssing?

Hiya Redbush tea is a caffeine free tea that originates from South Africa, its supposed to be packed with lots of antioxidants. I drink several cups a day to supplement my water intake and I find it very refreshing. You can buy it anywhere, I think Tetley does redbush as well. I buy the TICK...

I personally prefer green days and lost loads when I did all green days. My consultant was also a big fan of green days because it keeps us fuller and therefore less likely to snack.
