We changed to a cup probably when she was around 18m. She had dropped her milk intake anyway as she had milk with cereal and cheese/yog etc so she only has milk at bedtime. When she started asking for it during the day I used to give it her cold in a cup so she learnt the difference between...

Hello! Congratulations! Speaking as a midwife I would say we advise against buying them, partly for the reason that you've said but also because you don't know what you're listening for (cord/placenta/your pulse can all make you think you have heard baby's heartbeat). The best way of ensuring...

It could also be 4month sleep regression, that's quite common and normal too. It will pass though! Hopefully quickly. Don't worry about the menthol, I don't know the reasoning behind it, but I'm sure a little won't have done any harm. Now you know! Xx Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins.com

My placenta was right in the middle at the front so I felt things around the sides and bottom but only after about 28 weeks and even then it was sporadic. I found if I lay on my left side I could feel more, it was obviously just how it was positioned in relation to her! As she got bigger and...

Jess' photo diary, surgery & baby later. Fresh start

Ahh enjoy your day. If you keep feeling wet though you must go in and get checked. They usually give you 24-48hrs to go into labour after your waters go to go into labor on your own xx

Yeah it does take time. We just had to keep helping and then she started holding the handles then all of a sudden one day she picked it up and drank it herself and has done since.

Ladies who are weaning/intending to try soon, a few tips I was thinking of today.... Ice cube trays freeze veg really well, easy to get out, fruit not at all, especially if it's got dried fruit in like dates/apricots/prunes as they are much stickier and they don't pop out and you end up digging...

Day 45: finding out Abigail hadn't swallowed a coin she had managed to get out of my purse...they used a metal detector on her!! Better than an x-Ray though and she thought it was hilarious. Not do much me! Phew. I've aged about 20years.

Argh that's annoying to me and I don't even see them! Is it worth having a one on one with your mum? And saying you don't trust her and won't be leaving him with her unless she stops messing around and interfering? Hugs hun. Can't be easy. Vent as much as you want! Xx

It's weird isn't it as in England it's advised that it's 6 months for everyone, or leave it as late as possible anyway! Though my hv did say not many babies get that far. Just follow your mummy instincts. The main thing about waiting til 17 weeks is that their gut is closed so decreases the risk...

Anyone in the 11 stone bracket want support to get down to the 10s?

Hi hun Nice to see I'm not the only one! I am pretty much on track, stayed the same this week but that's ok. Have been trying new recipes out of the magazine as was suggested and been tracking everything even if I go over my syns a bit. Life just gets in the way sometimes doesn't it?! Hope...

The idea I think is that they can hold their head up and the line between their head and stomach is 'straight' so they don't inhale any food! I don't know what advice she gave you Frances but you don't have to wean her at 17 weeks hun, you can wait a while if you don't think she is ready. Xx

Its back to that what works for one doesn't for another! Try it and see. We gave her chicken one night and she had a bad tummy. Could have been coincidence but didn't do it again for a while. It's good fun though. Especially now when we eat out she eats with us xx

Wahh so much to catch up on! Nights are pants! Congrats Dougal-must have missed that! How you feeling? Gtt testing times vary from hops to Hosp. We do it around 25 weeks if you're at risk, and can test up to 35weeks if you show signs of it. After that you have to check your blood sugars for a...

Good luck! I am very dark, I could count 2 grey hairs before and during pregnancy. I now have many many more! When my preg hair fell out when it grew back there was considerably more grey! :( I have never had to dye it or wanted to for that matter, but am seriously considering it now! I'm only...

We had the same issue irrespective of what nappy brand we used! She went into 4+ a long time ago and is still in them now. They swamped her to begin with but we needed the extra absorbency. They go up to 44lb...? If I remember rightly? Anyhow she's 11months and 24lb and they still fit her fine...

Aww Jess that's a shame. As others have said, is it worth sitting down with John and really discussing it? If you could get someone to have Amelia for a little while then you could really discuss it without worrying she will hear/see if things get a bit heated? Obv we don't know the ins and...

i wouldn't worry hun, it's only a guide. Everyone is different. You can't force her to have it if she doesn't want it. You could try making 8 oz and if she has it then fine but if she's gaining weight ok and sleeping well she likely doesn't need more. In the same way the average adult needs...

I agree with the others, no real set routine! You need tinfoil and a bottle of spray! Spray window lightly, apply tinfoil, sticks like magic and you can get it in to all the corners. Lasts months and months. Saw it on 3day nanny! Shame about your MIL. I get on with mine but she's very touchy so it's a fine line I tread sometimes...is it...
