Thanks guys, hopefully I'll be back to normal soon. On the plus side my appetite has all but gone so I should be down a few lbs by then. Silver linings and all that xx

Sorry I haven't been on much; been battling various obstacles lately not least another infection this time it's a chest infection but honestly I feel AWFUL!
I'm not really paying attention to what I eat as I'm too tired to mind. Keep checking my weight though and am hovering around the 7 to...
Sorry it wasn't working out, but it's great that you have made a decision and are happy with it. Don't worry what anyone else thinks or says; as you've said - you're what matters x

Hi :)
Congrats on the weight loss so far - brilliant! I'm sorry to hear about your family member, things like that really make you look at life from another perspective don't they? You seem really determined and I really do wish you the best of luck on your journey :)

Hey Mrs B, found your diary and here to sub :) curious to know whereabouts in the North West you were living as that's where I am :)
Maybe try upping to 1500 cals and see what that does, least the. You can either go up or down and still be within a more maintainable range of cals. Not sure I...
Thanks Binks :) fingers crossed, though I have just demolished a small box of red grapes, oops.
I've got such a sweet tooth at the moment. Normally I'm a savoury person but I was craving chocolate ice cream earlier and I'm not all that fond of it usually - weird!
Special occasions are worth it :)
Had a lovely day thanks, lazy day at home and we made our tea together which was quite sweet as normally it's one or the other x
It was fab :)
Fingers crossed, when I checked this morning it had just stayed the same. Gonna have to stop checking daily or I'll do my head in with it x
Sorry to hear that hun, relationships can be tricky bloomin things at times.
Take time and think about what you want.
Have you talked to your other half about how you feel? It isn't an easy subject but may lead on to a better relationship, or give you both the space you perhaps need.
You're...
Haha!! I'm the same, worse still when you're typing and add random words.
Aww you'll be fiiiiine :-) have you known him long? You'll have to fill us in with the gossip when you get back x
Don't try and do too much in one go, thinking about how weight loss is affecting your life is inevitable as it's usually because of that we start our journeys. Why do you think it's unfortunate? x
Oh crap - a 3lb gain for me this week though I was away for a spa weekend. Enjoyed it immensely, but am a bit down about the gain. Never mind - still have a week to get it shifted :-D
trying_healthy (0lbs lost, 8lbs to go)
Sammyzip50 (1 lbs lost, 6 lbs to go)
ali28 (1lbs lost, 9lbs to go)...
Well done! Fabulous! Once you get in the 'zone' it becomes easier, and seeing such a great result after 2 weeks is a good motivator.
I've got around 9st to lose so know what you mean that it all seems impossible, but look at you now - already 1st down :-D
Sounds like you've got it all sussed then :-) hope you enjoy your night, are you feeling excited/anxious/indifferent?! I used to get so anxious when going on dates - butterflies would be going nuts in my stomach! x
I get massive food envy too - if I could have a personal chef that would be great haha!
Hope the jabs go ok, once it's all done she'll soon forget about it :-) x
We did, it was so lovely being pampered - I could get used to having a massage and facial! And the food was amazing, very artistically presented and how they pack so much flavour in to small dishes I'll never know.
Best weekend I've had in a long time :-) I'll just have to be good this week...
Ahh the weekend has caught up with me :-( went away for a spa weekend with my mum - had a fab time but had quite a lot of food so I knew it'd prob mean a gain - just checked as we got back yesterday and I'm up 3lbs :-( :-( so gonna have to be strict this week to hopefully shift it for next weeks...
Rubbish day food wise yesterday, nothing but junk food. Within calories but no real nutritional value, just did not feel like making anything at all.
Need to go shopping today and stock up on healthy supplies!
Maybe try some calamine lotion to help with the itchiness. I use it all the time as my skin is sensitive to anything harsh.
Well done on staying low! 1400 cals is great :-) x
I understand what you mean Kelly, what helps me is remembering that just because it's on the plate in front of me doesn't mean I have to eat it all.
Part of the problem I had was with portion control, I tested it recently at my mums as she made a Sunday dinner for us and LOADED our plates, but...
Sudocrem would probably be best, try to avoid things with alcohol as that could sting a bit. If chafing becomes a regular problem you can get anti chafing gel by Lanacane from the chemist. It works wonders!
Good luck on your journey, some fab advice from the others x
I'm so glad my car is an automatic; so easy to drive!
Haven't gotten to sleep as early as I'd have liked, just can't seem to settle at all. It's like my legs get really restless at night even though I'm tired and can't help but toss and turn, then I get annoyed and am either on my phone or...
That's terrible and so rude of them to speak to you like that. It's more likely you've caught the sickness bug going around, the hospital in my area was closed to visitors because of it. I really hope you feel better soon, drink lots of fluids and take care xx
Calorie counting with my fitness pal has been great for me too, it helps me plan ahead too and makes me think twice about just opening the biscuit tin - everything counts so you've got to make it count! 2 apples = 1 chocolate bar (approx) so I know which would be more filling and makes it...
Well done on keeping up with the good eating! It can be hard when you don't see results as fast as you'd like but bear in mind that you don't want to lose too quickly otherwise you might be left with saggy skin. Please don't put too much pressure on yourself or you'll set yourself up to fail...
Definitely! It's a change for the better and should be able to continue once I reach my target. It's more realistic.
Well I got out today to go and pick up my sick note, or fitness for work, whatever they're calling it these days. It was strange driving again as I haven't driven for about 3...
Sorry to hear about your friends Angel, it isn't easy :hug99:
I think Mere's right, wherever we're biggest it seems to be the last place it goes from. My arms and bust are still quite big but my tummy and hips are shrinking. It'll be different once you get home and try on some of your other...
Thanks ladies :-) starting to feel better each day, my sleep pattern is a bit out of sorts but I'm hoping for an early night tonight.
I can't believe the difference in 4 weeks; I've done meal replacement diets before but found them hard to stick to, at least doing this I'm thinking more about...
Official weigh in day today and still showing 19st 7lb but am more than happy with that :D 16lb lost in 4 weeks is a-okay by me!
I'm still not right after my kidney infection and stint in hospital, although the infection has cleared and am no longer of antibiotics I am SO tired. It's crazy how...
Hi Kelly
Welcome to minimins :)
Sounds like you've started at a good time and are taking steps to control your weight, 10lb already is amazing - well done!
I find having somewhere to talk about weight loss and keep track of it really helpful, I also like looking at the inspirational pictures...
They can, they make you hungry so you're more inclined to over eat. Not that I ever needed much help with that! Thankfully I'm off them for a while now :)
Bet your Dr was so impressed with you, star patient! x
Heck, you've been on a mission tackling all that, especially after the dentist! I daresay you'll have needed the extra few cals from snacking, surprising how physical gardening can be. Enjoy Big Bang, I love that programme :) x
Really struggled to get to sleep last night so have had a long lie in this morning. Need to get up, washed and dressed as me and my bf are going round to my mums for lunch; she's making mince and dumplings - God only knows how many calories will be in it but it'll certainly taste good! Think...
Good idea, I'm sure MFP is able to track water intake too. Will have to have a look. I spend so much time checking and logging stuff on my phone my battery always seems to need charging :-o
Welcome :-) and thank you x
Gosh! You wouldn't think it could make such a difference! I could really do with getting a 1L bottle and making sure I fill and drink 3 x per day. I've def upped my intake but haven't measured it x
Struggling to get motivated today, think I'm still worn out from being in hospital so really can't be trashed to get up and make something to eat.
I checked the scales and I've dropped another 2lbs, though I thought about it and I've been drinking so much water lately I wonder if that's flushed...
Thank you :-) I'm rather chuffed! My mum came to visit yesterday and commented that I'd lost weight. Then told me off and not to do it too quickly lol x
Glad you're on the mend :-) aww how sweet of your bf! Always good when they make a comment like that!
Have a fab day, sounds like you're set for it :-) x
I'd like to do the same - go along to some of the meet ups and be amongst people again. In many ways it's self inflicted that I've isolated myself. One of my goals is to change this and stop letting me stop me x
Me too. A few years ago a group of us went to go ape and I didn't do it, I would...
Like the others have said, the most important thing is your recovery and getting you home when you're fit and ready. The diet can always be picked up again at home. Hospital food is naff, would they allow your husband to bring meals in for you? At least you would have a better control over...
Aw that'll feel so rewarding! Can't wait til I can shop for regular clothes instead of looking for the fat bird corner in New Look - so demoralising being sectioned off like that x
It's surprising how our weight can affect our social lives. I worry so much about people judging my appearance that I've made so many excuses I just don't get asked to go out anymore :-( x
Such a good idea! I haven't gotten rid of clothes yet though everything is much looser - it's a reminder throughout the day when I feel the urge to raid the biscuits :-) x
You still stayed close to your limit though, which shows thought as to the amount you had which is a good thing :-) it'd be boring if all we ate was salads so a little bit of what you shouldn't won't do any harm. As my granny used to say, everything in moderation! Xx
Mmm that's what I'm thinking, it probably is just a blip. I'm happy about it, don't get me wrong :-) a loss is a loss! And that's what I'm all about at the moment :-D
There can be all sorts of things at play so I wouldn't worry too much. Like the others have said if you stick to it for the next week you're bound to see a drop :-) xx
Well I've hit the 1st loss today and am rather happy! All of my clothes are getting to be loose too :-D
One thing has concerned me though, I check my weight daily (I know... It's not good) but I seem to have lost 1lb per day over the last 3 days. I weigh in the morning after having gone to the...
Well done! Size 12 jeans are a long way off for me, but well flipping done to you :D when you get your hair done too you'll feel like a completely different person xx
Hey! Sorry for not being around, I've been in hospital for the last week, only just came out yesterday.
Diet is going well and am still losing, even despite stodgy hospital food!
How are you getting on? I need to have a catch up on all the threads I'm subbed to lol x
These pictures are amazing - we need more though! I'm nearly 2 weeks in to my calorie counting and am seeing some good results already. As soon as I have lost a few stone I'll be putting some pics up for def!
Excellent! All of your meals sound yummy too. That's the good thing about calorie counting, not restricted and tasty meals, makes it much easier to contend with :-)
I did Cambridge for a while too but didn't like the taste of the packs.
Anyway, I've subbed to your diary too :-D x
Oh that's a bit harsh of her, January is a naff month anyway as its so long til payday, coupled with unforeseen bills, a few meals out isn't unreasonable. I'd say they're necessary! x
Hi ginger :-)
1300 cals is a good place to start, I'm doing 1500 and have had a good first week. I entered my details on MFP and it was the amount recommended. It reckons 1 to 2lbs per week from that amount.
If 1300 isn't enough you could always go up another 200 cals, or equally go down if...
Ooo gonna get some of those, I make hot choc with hot skimmed milk so it'll be nice to have one without the calories of a normal hot choc x
Hmm I make mine quite weak and usually have around 20 - 50 calories left by the end of the day, so I could probably get away with it. Given that it...
Have a fun day, lovely family day out :-) you'll have to treat each other on doing so well with your losses!
Know what you mean about daily weigh ins - I can't help but check each morning and when there's no change I forget about perspective xx
Thank you :-) I'll have to stock up on no added sugar squash and make sure I drink plenty. Do you include the calories in your daily allowance or as its for water consumption not bother? x
I haven't tried fruit tea, not for a long time anyway. My mum has lime and ginger so will have to try...
This evening I had lean beef steak, 1 small baked potato, salad with tomato, olives, beetroot and a smidge of lighter than light mayo - sounds a bit of a random mix but it was very tasty!
Hiiiii :)
Just wondering what everyone drinks through the day, other than water? I'm really struggling to get enough water down, some days I can't get enough but to be honest it isn't very often like that. What could I drink regularly without adding too many calories and is relatively...
Well today has been a funny day; I've felt really hungry but when I had something just didn't fancy it. I'm under my calories today, but feel ok. Really need to get more water down through the day, I'm struggling with just plain water but not sure what would be best to add for flavour without...
Good idea with the popcorn! Hope you enjoyed the film, what did you go to see?
I'm probably a bit odd - I love a busy day at work as I'll have little time to think about food so am less likely to snack, even though I've changed my snacks for healthier alternatives :D
Well done on 3 stone Angel - wooop wooop!! :woohoo:
I'm watching part 2 of What's the right diet for you - really interesting. It's great the detail they're going in to, and fair play to the people who took part too.
Hope you have a good night's sleep, and a cracking day tomorrow :) xx
Well over the last week I've been 562 cals under my net goal which is pretty good I think.
Finding it quite easy sticking to the daily allowance and only had 1 slight wobble yesterday, though I think it was because I was a bit run down with the sniffles.
Have been trying to make a point of...
Oh my god you're so right! We've got a bring and share lunch at work this week and I'm dreading it - a few of the ladies in our office make such lovely stuff but I'll have no idea what's in so won't know how many cals :-(
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins.com
As long as you're under your calorie goal you'll be fine :-) sometimes a sweet treat helps you get through the day x
Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins.com
You're so right, occasional treats are no bad thing, though it is hard to resist temptation when you know you really shouldn't!
What kind of workouts do you do at the gym? I need to think about incorporating some exercise in to my plan, though tbh I'm trying to ease in to healthier eating...
Hi everyone! I'm new to calorie counting, have been doing it for the last week using MFP app to track what I eat and take measurements.
So far I'm really enjoying it, I like the control I'm taking as it makes me so much more aware of how much I was overeating before :-o so far I'm 7lbs down...
Hope SW works well for you, my Aunty has been doing it and lost 3 stone in 4 months! She said it was really easy too as it didn't take much thinking about. I'm calorie counting as I like tracking what I eat and taking measurements - sad I know, but it's working!
Sent from my iPhone using...
Aww :-) so lovely to hear, I bet he's a cutie!
Ohh I need to get round to setting one up again, I'm calorie counting at the moment but their section seems very quiet so thought I'd have a look on here.
Glad to see a few familiar peeps still come on here, need to get myself caught up with...
Hey Angel! Long time since I've been on here but just seen you're a momma now! Congratulations! Hope you're all well and I see you're doing exante - fingers crossed for you :-) x
I'm sure you will do, so long as you stick to the diet there's no way you can't have a good loss :)
Putting cinnamon in the porridge sounds tasty, I'll have to try that some time x
In the grand scheme of things it could've been a lot worse, and as its not all of the time I doubt it'll be of much, if any, detriment to your results :)
Hope the dentist was easy on you xx
Oooh! It's all so exciting :D yep as the doc and mere said, plenty of rest. Put yet feet up, get some magazines, let hubby run about after you - bliss :)
I've got everything crossed for you xx
You've got your game face on now chick, I'm with you there as the weekend has been a lot of what I fancied, oops!
You WILL be in those 14s very soon! Xx
Ready made shakes would be great - any flavour for me! And perhaps a meal like the spag bol some of the other vlcd diets offer, I think it would mentally sit well too as its more like "real food" x
Hi Alia!
Just checked to see if you had a diary and wow! You seem to have gotten right in to the swing of it really well :) it's hard getting your head around not eating "food" and just having enough to get you by. Huge shock to the system. But well done for getting through the first week, I...
So sorry to hear that, but the most important thing is your health. Finding a diet that doesn't compromise that is important, but there are so many different options.
Perhaps talking to your gp and asking for a nutrition plan would be an idea? They can give you recipes and meal plans that'll...
That dress is beautiful, you'll look gorg in it :)
Hope you haven't done too much housework and worn yourself out, hubby should be on with that so you can relax ;) x
We have a cat whose eye is always gunked up at the moment, he's been to the vets a dozen times and they can't say what's causing it. Might be the dust mites like with your dog, our house is filthy cos its still a builders yard!
Hopefully the meds will help sort your lab out :)
How have you...
Mine are F cups at the moment, can't wait for them to be smaller!
Mantaray doesn't fit me either but it'll be one of the first places I get some new clothes from when I'm at goal, as a reward :)
Cold has all but gone, for a cough which keeps catching me when I'm talking but mostly all gone...
Lots of great advice already given, and you've already said yourself to listen to your body. You've done it right all the way :) now you can start to enjoy foods again and learn limits and maintenance.
Any word on the naturist wedding?!
Hey Angel! Hope you're feeling better chick :) been wondering what that film was like, know to avoid it now!
Love the joe browns stuff, I get their catalogue too, pricey though. The Mantaray stuff in debenhams is pretty too :) x
Haha!! A naturist wedding  at least you'll be a skinny nekkid guest :D
Maybe she'll have changed her mind now, hopefully! Gosh that would be some interesting wedding photos!
Good on ya for getting out in the sunshine for a bit, just a bugger about the headache, are you starting to feel any better?
I've had a lazy weekend, I'm off tomorrow but will be up MEGA early, leaving the house at 6:30am  to go with OH to his work, then in the afternoon we're off to...
You can do it if you really want... There's a song in that! *breaks in to a little dance*
Go for it! How fab will it be and feel, seriously though you should be very proud of what you've achieved already, and there's no doubt you could do it x
Sounds like a lovely day :) I love going to garden centres, which is odd as I'm not a gardener by any stretch!
Hope you get lots of goodies for your garden x
Ooo smoothie sounds good :) don't worry too much about the scales, it'll soon come down, then go up in a good way :)
Hope the hospital trip wasn't too bad, don't envy you looking after a lurcher pup - those things have springs for legs  will keep you busy and out of the snack cupboard...
Sorry to hear that, hope your mum and the rest of the family are ok. I'm sure you'll cheer her up :)
Fingers crossed for the last 3lbs, there's going to be nothing left of you  x
I wonder why the other tests were so inaccurate, makes you wonder what really goes on and will no doubt have been hard for you both to deal with :hugs: fingers, toes and everything crossed it works :)
Talk about it as much as you like hun, I consider a lot of people on here friends, I've been...
TOTM is a right bugger for messing up what the scales say, particularly when it's so heavy. Is that usual for you? Mine have gone berserk since starting exante, I think the losses trigger something, surge of hormones maybe, and our bodies react with intense TOTM :(
Hope it eases off soon...
Aww!! Hope the IVF goes well for you hun :) exciting times!
So glad you're starting to feel better, been a bit worried about you, think you and I have been and are still in the same boat health-wise.
My friend lost weight while she was pregnant, she had gallstones so had to cut out fat from...
Well done! You made the effort and it'll pay off :)
Your body might be hanging on to the weight a little bit with having an upset tummy and ear infection at the same time, but as Jael said you might find by the end of the week you have a little whoosh!
Even a 1lb loss is a loss, don't be...
Mmm biscuits. Why are they so bloomin tasty!?
Portion control has always been an issue for me too, and as I got older knowing if I buy a multipack of crisps doing the shopping it more than likely won't be there tomorrow!
If they don't notice it's because they're jealous. You're right to be concerned at sharing a room with a couple, not least someone you've never met before! If push came to shove I'd probably book myself in a cheap hotel/b&b, if anyone had a problem with it it'd be their problem! Are there any...
Aw hun hope you feel better soon, if its an consolation I'm exactly the same as you, I've only gotten out of bed to get a drink and feed the cats. Not going anywhere or doing anything today. Though the tissue box is running low, might have to call in some reinforcements (mum or dad haha).
Get...
Lovely! Did you feel better after? I wonder what effect it would have on the waistline?
After seeing the 'results' it does make me think urgh I wouldn't want that stuck in my guts.
Haha! The first time I heard of it was from a friend, it was called blessed herbs, basically its a formula (tablet or liquid, or both) that you swallow and it 'unclogs' your intestines, gets rid of the 'mucus' and 'other debris' and it all comes out of the business end! There are people who...
Aww! As you say he could've shown you earlier! Never mind, you're feeling better now and that's what counts.
Hehe marge, you might get more than you bargained for you tubing that!! Have you seen these colon cleanse packs? Omg the stuff that comes out is VILE!
Oooo gonna have to go and have a ratch in some shops me thinks :) splitting by calorie content sounds a good idea too - might just copy you on that too! X
Ha! If someone offered me there seat I'd take it regardless! I've noticed when I get the bus few people do offer their seats nowadays.
Has there been any 'movement' yet mere? Can't think of anything else you could do that you haven't already tried x
I'm not convinced of baths, I always feel awful when I get out! Give me a shower anyway, would love a shower room but keeping a bath in case we have kiddies :)
Hope you're feeling better Minnie, a duvet day always helps! Ratatouille is a fab film, love it :) x
Wow what a difference, you're very pretty :) you can tell you don't look happy in the first pic but in the 2nd there's a quiet confidence there :)
Well done Minnie!!! *claps hands* x
You might even be under target mere! You've been doing brilliant :) is this your target to maintain, or have you got a bit of room to breathe with it? Like aiming for 10st but go to 9st 7lbs with 7lbs to spare? Xx
Snap. My fella can eat and eat and still be hungry! My mum used to give me big portions, and I never really grasped what a normal portion is, tiny in comparison to what I used to have! Xx
Oddly enough we've had glorious sunshine in Cumbria, after seeing all the pics of this area I can't believe we've had no snow at all!
Skye is a beautiful place, glad you had a great time Mere :) x
Aww I'm sure you looked lovely! Just have a breather and don't put yourself down so much, you've been doing BRILLIANT!
Fingers crossed for your WI tomorrow :) x
I've been using a night cream and day cream out of aldi recently and found my skin is so much softer for it. Also remembering to scrub my makeup off at night has helped loads! I've got prescription cream for spots as I get slight acne. I use soap and glory the righteous butter for my body, just...
LOL!! I love that you sprayed it with deodorant!
It's so friggin annoying when they do stuff like that, it'd be better if they took themselves out n had a sit down meal rather than bring it in the house.
Have you said anything to him? And does he know you sprayed the food? Imagine if he eats...
Some folk are just so efficient at being crap, sounds like you encountered one of the best examples. Scrutinising a bra in case you'd worn it, with the tags on?! So what if you had!
Hope you had a great time at the BBQ, I doubt I'd have been able to resist, well done you! Xx
Wow! You'll be doing one of those total warrior marathons next! Sounds ace and you'll see so many amazing things :)
We fly out end of September and don't come back til mid October. I want to be slim enough to firstly sit in the plane seat for the duration without it hurting my hips, and to be...
Quite right :) our trip to Florida is a once in a lifetime one I'd say, can't wait!!
Will have to try our Thomas cook n see what the exchange is like, I know post office do a prepay card but there were some limitations I wasn't so sure about.
When do you go to Canada? Xx
I loooove the Mantaray stuff, so pretty :) plenty of time to save up for clothes shopping now!
Where did you get your preloaded card from? I've been wondering about getting one for when we go to Florida in September/October xx
How did it go at the biscuit factory Angel? Hope you had a great day :)
I don't think I could do this without coke zero! It does the opposite and makes me feel quite full! I get the asda one, 2 for £2.50 so much cheapness, I prefer the taste of it to coca cola as well xx
Aww sounds like a great day :) you need to keep wrapped up nice and warm, I'm sure somewhere the exante site says vlcd's make you feel the cold more! Xx
